They were the last words she had wanted him to utter.. the last thing she had ever wanted to hear.. slowly the impact of what he had said became clearer to her..

'Sometimes your words.. they sting.' .. it has been his way of telling her he loved her.. his was of telling her he needed her.. and on an impulse she started to turn back.

'And if your glass heart should crack

and for a second you turn back

With all the effort she had, she turned back to leave with Pierre. My fianc, she thought, but somehow she couldn't get Yuvi's image out of her head..

Yuvi looked at her when she turned to go.. he noticed how she had almost turned back at his words.. he was watched her go hand in hand with Pierre.. he was almost helpless, he couldn't do anything.. it was watching a part of his heart go away from him.. despairingly he whispered to the thin air and the wall, "Something has changed Ashi, you won't understand.".. and he sighed sadly

She was restless in bed.. Pierre had long ago bid her goodnight and had gone to sleep.. all the thoughts of the evening came rushing back to her. Why, she wondered, why had I said yes.. why did I want to say yes.. but try as much as she would, she couldn't get any answer.. when Pierre had proposed, she had only seen love in his eyes.. she had waited for Yuvi so long.. right on the spot.. she had decided that she couldn't wait anymore. She was like a wilted plant needy for water.. or rather needy for love. Yuvi's last words before she left rattled in her ears. 'Sometimes your words.. they sting.' .. 'Your words sting too Yuvi,' she cried aloud, 'I have waited for so long to hear you say the three words.. which would always ring in my ears forever.. even today.. even today after the engagement I was eagerly hoping you would say that.. why did you not, Yuvi? Why couldn't you say it to me.. tell me you love me.. you would have liked to hear the same from me too.. but I guess some things are better left unsaid.'

Somehow it gave her an odd comfort.

'I have loved a very few things in my life, Yuvi, and you are on of them.' and she softly drifted away to sleep…
