F irst, a new time slot and now a slew of new characters.

Remix, the show with its crazy clutch of Maurya High denizens, has just introduced a new character. Sohan Master, one of the finalists of Zee India's Best Cinestar Ki Khoj enters the plot as Raghuram Deshpande, a Maharashtrian boy, who enters Maurya High. Says Sohan, "I belong to a lower middle class family, and my dad is a peon and my mom a sweeper. My character turns negative as I nurse this insecurity and an inferiority complex in front of the other guys in school, who are all big shots." This is not it. Raghuram will fall in love with Tia. "Yes, Tia will be my love interest. I will also form a gang against the famous guys of Maurya, especially against Yuvraj!" laughs Sohan.

How did the Zee finalist land a role on a Star One show? "I auditioned for it and got selected. It is a continuing character," says Sohan, who also plays a character in Paalkhi on Zee and will be soon seen in Asha Parekh's new soap in a lead role.

Says Remix producer Shrishti Arya, "Yes, we needed a new face, as always! Sohan auditioned for it and we liked it."

Besides Sohan, Shrishti also plans to introduce a new girl on the show. "It's just too early to say anything about the girl. But yes, it is true. She will be cast opposite Sohan. But she will be a part of everyone's life," says Shrishti. She adds, "Though Sohan's promos are already on air, his episode will be on air after three weeks."

Three characters have had to bow out of Remix to make way for the new ones. Among those who have exited are the characters of Aman, Arjun and Maria Priya. And the third who gives company to Sohan and the as-yet undecided girl on the show, is Manav Gohil who will play a stern vice principal of Maurya High.
