Shrek, the ogre tells donkey that ogres are like onions- they have layers to them. Likewise Karthik has layers that only a wise girl can go beyond to see the gem that he is. I wonder if Suman is worthy of Karthik!
In today's scene where Karthik shows the seeds to Suman and his mother is like, "oof!", and invites her to visit the farm, I was like- wow- he is a nurturer and patient to wait to see a plant grow and mature to give fruit. He is not hasty like karan. Suman is the first girl who has actually got him interested, that too because of their unconventional first meeting- her throwing water on him- sort of symbolical- throwing cold water and waking up from his "stupor".
Certainly an interesting story with her marrying him out of respect and then learning to love him. Moms, after all, know best- that too a mother like Kadambari who sees that same quality in Suman as she does in Karthik, that of a nurturer.
