Ankit Arora, who plays Razia's brother Ruknuddin Firuz in Siddharth Kumar Tewary's Razia Sultan, had come to Mumbai with a dream of pursuing a career in music, but fate willed otherwise.
He says, "My mother used to sing in a temple. I would often join her, but I never had any formal training. I learnt music in Mumbai." While he got a break in acting, he still aspires to be a playback singer.

At the moment he doesn't get to do riyaz but listens to his favourite singer Sonu Nigam's songs daily. He adds, "Whenever I feel low, I stand outside Sonu's house. I hear his songs on the set and even sing them for my co-actors. By now everyone is aware of my obsession for Sonu. I am in Mumbai because of him since I wanted to follow in his footsteps."
