Maybe they should just start making finite shows which will last 6-9 months. They can stick to the story and not stretch it when they have nothing new in store for the viewers. Our show was at wonderful point around 7 months of airing during the Shantanu track. All they had to do was get Rudra there on time to save his family. Everyone would have been happy. We get a happy ending and the channel gets a slot freed for one of the other shows they have such high hopes on.
All the shows on colors failed only and only because of its lazy promotions. TRPs are just their excuse. If poling 8000 people is all it takes to judge the taste of the nation and only those few people matter in a nation of millions, they should just approach those people directly and give them the same stories they are comfortable with played by different faces. Why bother to be creative?

I agree to every word here. Many good shows were axed only because of TRP and shows which should have been in the trash bin by now are still airing, year after year, the same thing... breakfast, lunch, dinner... marriages celebrated with pomp, they don't even spare the house help, festivals celebrated, dragging on for days, well after the festival has ended, the stupid drama glorifying the FL, this is what ensures that your show will stay. Channels are the only ones at fault here, who can't stand by their projects and fall prey to the numbers. Sad that a few households decide what the whole country will watch. Better off with the English shows then.

These days I hardly tune any Indian entertainment channels because, they all are competing wid each other to prove, "who are more worst?" After "Aaina Dulhan Ka" , Zindagi is also empty so,I am preferring some News,Music n Eng Movies channel. HBO Hits (HD) is awesome You can watch your all favorite movies in both language (only change the Audio option) 😊

In this current situation,I don't think Sanaya will be part of any other TRP holder show because, these kind of "Popular theme" is not her cup of tea. (not mine too 😳)

@ bold, I am glad, because I can't bear to see her play the typical, 'khichada' & 'daal bhaati' making bahu, as if that is what proves how good a daughter-in-law you can be. Also, because I am not the kind of fan who wants to see my favorite back onscreen, bas, that is all that matters. Content, character, the way the PH is treating a character is not important. Only want to see my favorite back onscreen. Sorry, I can't want that, especially when it is humiliating to my favorites, the way they are treated. I would rather wait to see my favorites in shows that do justice to them, their talent, even if the run is short.

The role of Paro was very challenging for Sanaya. And she did a damn good job at it. But I guess it was not good enough for the TRP aunties who would rather see a dutiful bahu. So be it.

TFS, Joseph. From this list ... and from the list of long running high TRP shows, it seems that the audience ... or rather those 8000 households who claim to represent the audience ... don't want any change in their mindless TV viewing habits. All shows with new concepts are trashed ... and the same old rubbish carries on for years and years. And then we complain that TV is trash.

The TRP system is badly flawed ... till it is changed to become more representative of the viewing public, good shows will not last. I hope Sanaya comes back in a limited episodes show ... more and more are being made ... and one can hope their stories will not be destroyed too badly in the quest for TRPs.

Ditto!
Diya 😊,
I want sanaya in finite epi show too... I dont think these trp raking shows suit her! Gawd!! The stuff they show in the name of ' creativity and trp' !! Ughhh🤢Also, finite episodes mean they wont have to drag it with nonsensical tracks and in the process, kill the essence of the show!

Totally agree wid your points,Diya. In this current TRP system we can't expect any experimental n different concept in our Tele screen. Hats off to these 8,000 families who are expert to watch same kind of shows in different channels. Most worst thing is, they are not considering DTH viewers views on TRP measurement. What the Hell !!

Limited shows concept is nice but, after 'Airlines' failure I don't think, Weekly shows will be work in India. Peoples are used to watch Daily shows. That's why I said that,we are facing a crucial period of Indian Tele where 8,000 families are ruling on all Indian choice.

Very disappointed wid current BJP Govt. too because, after almost 6 months they didn't pass a strong bill against this system whatever,Mr. Jawdekar is very much aware wid this mess.
