Hi Jyoti...I was exactly thinking the same ...Whenever a movie shows an ending of the first love, they always try to show that love to be less matured and less intense...Like in the case of Kaho na pyaar hai...which may be ST was inspired to shape MyRud story..But if we notice, Rohit in Kaho Na Pyaar Hai was killed in the 1st 4 mins of the movie and the female was quite a silly, rich brat who was too much in love with the kind-hearted poor boy...Its only later that she grows mature and falls for a lookalike 'Raj' after spending lots of time with him. Even in those scenes it was shown how they help each other and are a saviour to each other...Thus the story with Raj becomes more intense and we can imagine them as a grt couple..Thus that movie became a grt hit and broke the image that Love can happen only once in life...
I agree .. in most of these kind of stories , they always show the first love to b either immatured one or it was never meant to b types whereas the second love is shown more like a soulmate .. in fact even in a movie like Lamhe which was also a sort of inspiration for the RR makers , they showed the same ... its the second love which turn out to b true soulmate .. but in PaRud case it was the opposite .. PaRud were meant to b together because of the childhood connection they had and thats where makers did a blunder by killing off Paro
Similar case goes with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai where 'Rahul' falls in love with 'Tina', marries her and then has a baby...But that ends with her death in the 1st scene in the movie...Definitely Karan Johar must have given a thought as in why to kill the 1st love in the 1st scene itself and focus the story on the 'Best friends' angle? It was because he wanted to show that after Tina, Rahul actually could share an intense relation only with his best friend as she was the only person on earth who cared the most for him. The entire movie was about it..This touched everyone's heart...It became a best seller of all times..
In KKHH too Rahul was attracted towards Tina more but his feelings were always with his best friend Anjali which he realised later after 8 yrs .. Anjali was his best friend even before he met Tina ... here if Myrah was Rudra's friend or childhood buddy before he met Paro , we could hv still understood the connection but that was never the case
Well we can't say this about Rangrasiya...Rangrasiya firstly kept even the name of the characters as the name of the God's as a couple- Rudra and Parvati...The entire 6 months story revolved around them..So suddenly when they killed the better half if the guy, to bring another girl into his life, she should have a name that resembles Paravti's name again. Secondly her share in Rudra's life had to be as imp as Parvati and as intense as of Parvati..This was completely missing..After the leap it was nothing but a daily drama going on without any clue...After a time I felt like watching this show without knowing why I was actually watching it...It was like chewing a gum which has been chewed many times and is being still chewed only out of some obligations...
I agree .. the first 6 months actually nailed the fact that PaRud r destined to b together and then suddenly killing off Paro and showing MyRud actually killed the whole 6 months of belief that viewers had put in PaRud and thats where CVs lost the focus ...
Thus MyRud story was just unable to connect with the viewers..It neither had the intensity of Kaho na pyaar hai nor the friendship of Kuch kuch hota hai..The only relief of the Leap story were the cute kids...
true .. kids bonding with Myrah was the only working factor post leap ... otherwise I agree MyRud never had that connect
