Muslims in the west are more open about celebrating festivals from other religions, particularly Christmas. Many Muslims in India celebrate Holi and Diwali because as they live in India they are just surrounded by the festivities and so can't help but participate in celebrating. It's like, they see everyone doing it, and it just looks so lively, so they decide to take part as well. Don't know if I make sense. Muslims in their own Muslim countries stick to mostly celebrating their own religious festivals though I agree...Although I know many who celebrate Christmas. That festival seems to be an exception for many. 😆However yes I agree with @bold. It was unnecessary to give BI the Holi special episode, RR should have gotten it instead.

friend any confirmation about off air news?
living in Pak had never seen like this In my whole life
Zee, I agree with you ... haven't been in India for a long time, so don't know about Muslims celebrating Diwali and Holi ... but living abroad, all Indian tend to celebrate all festivals together ... the Hindus organise the Diwali and Holi parties, to which all our non-Hindu friends are invited, and all take part happily. Similarly the Muslim friends organise Eid parties, and the Christian friends organise the Christmas do'es and we all join in together.I've had a Christmas tree for my kids for many years, simply because they felt left out when their friends all celebrate Christmas ... but I don't think that's the same as celebrating Christmas ... my kids don't go to Mass or church or anything else. Muslim friends attend our Dusshera and Diwali celebrations, but some of them made it a point to arrive after our prayers were over.Celebrating a festival is not just about the celebration, its also about the spiritual and religious part of the festival. Holi is mainly celebration ... but Janamashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Dushhera and Diwali are all deeply tied in with religion. Which is why the parties are usually organised by the relevant hosts ... because they are not just 'parties'.

Yes you're right that's exactly how it happens.I don't think the Muslims celebrate Christmas by going to Mass or church either, they just do the christmas tree and gift exchanging part. I think religious festivals like Christmas and Holi have been commercialized and so people of all religions participate in celebrating them these days. Yes the festivals that are deeply tied in with religion are organized by those who belong to the respective religion in question. If BI got an Eid Special episode, RR should have gotten a Janmashtami Special episode. Don't understand why RR is never given these festival special episodes. Grr, Colors I tell you!! This is the height of partiality!! 😡
I don't care about any other show ... I don't watch it, and I'm glad I know there is no RR on Monday ... I will keep my TV off, instead of waiting and hoping it will start late or something.
