Why do actors have a shelf life of not more than 5 yrs

Why do many actors take soaps as a platform to get to
movies

As far as i see the industry is as big ,

actors give performance or hrs of acting is much more times than in a movies

And many are very good too

The players are really big , this one is a 22 billion company
, so there is money , there is influence

The reach is at par with movies ,

Viewership and association i think is higher

Still why?

The real issue with this sector is being labelled as
mediocre by makers and viewers , it is a daily soap , how can you expect logic ,how can you criticize
the show makers are working hard

If hard work is the criteria to judge the success of any
project , why do show go off air

Constructive criticism is very essential in the growth of
any industry , it is in a way of having trust that the industry or show can do
better

On the other hand labelling the industry as mediocre is
pulling the industry down

why cant i , as i said nothing about this industry is mediocre then why can't I expect quality , i personal judge any industry by growth , reach , players and money

i see it all
Still quality of the end product is questionable

declaration: please feel free to agree disagree argue ,ignore i will not report any posts in this thread

PS i typed in a hurry sorry about thetypos

Thank you
Sad right most of the big names in entertainment or otherwise is putting money still the actors or the show per se don't benefit much , one show goes off air many working for that show are jobless
Even working conditions are bad
Why wgwn there is Money , when producers are making huge money can't it translate to the team as well
The taboo has to go , then efforts and rewards will be higher

Exactly they have all the resources at their disposal
Reach , money , big names , influence
Why restrict the content and get into mediocre category
I think it is two way ,by restricting expectation from a daily soap we are restricting the scope
Why will I accept mediocre when I have other choices , any American show or a movie or I will play games

I really think quality should improve , and constructive criticism is a way towards it

i think hindi show makers feel only sass bahu sagas work and almost all shows run with that plot , RR started as a dark intense show of a women falling in love with her husbands murder now its more abt paro and kitchen politics .they should have stuck to that plot . even i dont get why restrict content when u can show something different .its all becoz of the stupid trps .

Initial story was really unique
Thishappens with most shows , everything seems the same after a point
all they want is okay okay trps , stay on air the as long as possible , because longer the show running greater income from ads ,make ssome money , exit make another show
Trps are important yaar but what happens is thIs kind if restriction to experiment potential blockbusters get effected
And industry shrinks
I think that should change , the industry should be taken seriously by both makers and viewers

I agree. Successful tv actors do look for greener pastures as soon as they can 😕

There is more moolah in movies

Movies have an easier schedule than tv shows (not the gruelling 12-14 hhours for 28 days every month)

Reality shows last a couple of months, and I am sure pay a lot

Ads involve a few hours of shooting a big money

The actors want to try different roles, not be stuck in a repetitive story 😕

So the actors cannot help it

And I hate how Ashish will be taking time away from RR to shoot for RR, (it will definitely add to BDs) but as I stated above - it makes perfect sense

Thank you
If the industry is attractive , it will not be treated as second priority or third or forth
Like you said actors can't be blamed for looking for greener pastures ,
but somewhere the only way to retain people is to make the industry attractive and how
By emphasising on quality and not take it as a second priority for that I tthink this mediocre taboo is a big hindrance
Other money Ian huge buddy

It's probably the lure of better working conditions and more money maybe that takes a successful actor into movies although history has it that not many have been really successful and have made comebacks!
Added to that may be definitely the fact that especially in dailies the story goes haywire with the passing months or years and has no connection to the original plot!

So yes constructive criticism or should I say feedback given in a polite way that doesn't demean the makers who work hard to bring us these shows, is good ...while we all know that a certain level of suspension of disbelief is needed there is nothing wrong in pointing out when that crosses the threshold!

After all feedback is the mechanism by which they come to know what viewers want and I am not sure that TRP is that effective because many shows keep changing tracks to achieve a higher TRP even when it doesn't make sense to the story!

Hi pri
Absolutely
Totally agree
Feedback is good.for the overall growth , and I think this industry the secret to success Is adapting keeping the original plot in mind
AdaptiNg constructive criticism does help
I am not obligated to review or criticize or watch the show for that matter
But I have a right to
Trps are flawed way of accessing popularity but it is like a thump rule can come handy and Is accurate to gauge gain or loss
