Don't know whether is the right thread to write but since long I am searching for someone to tell about TRP. I searched on Google about TRP's the definition it gave was vague and misleading. It said it is not accurate to rate.
Then why are discussion taken to axe serial on TRP. Just wanted some to fight back on this issue. Wanted to rise a voice with color wanted to right to someone but didn't know where please someone help. I am not a socialize person don't know how to tweet, like sukhi, or msin had mentioned she/he fought with ST on tweet. But want to rise this issue. Why they are not promoting RR.
Or simple solution just take the online viewer ship into consideration. In today's age viewers prefer to watch on net, TAB, cell, rather than on TV. Please take in account the time issue for house wife it is dinner time. Can't keep family waiting and watch TV. Saas Bahu saga will happen at home. Even for viewers who are studying sometimes it not possible at that time. For office travelers it is time to come back at home at least it happens in Mumbai. So how the TRP can be rated as viewer's choice. We get time to watch in Lunch breaks, while travelling. Consider the viewership as a whole whether Online or Telly. Viewers are Viewers.
Please help me to reach this message to the right people. Please let me know if your views ideas match. And where do I write.
TRPs are very much essential for a show, online viewing and showing it as popularity is not useful to earn money.
I will tell you an example: suppose a bollywood movie is released and no one went to watch the movie in theather due to different reasons but online torrentz downloads created a record clicks... will you call that movie a block buster movie or flop movie?
TRPS and online viewing is equal to watching the movie in theater and downloading the same movie from torrentz
TRPs decides the price of an AD coming on TV during the show time. depends on TRPs the price and length of the AD will be decided. Even if they show the promo of a show will cost them (AD time they can show at that time)... so channel will proritize the show promos based on TRPs.
If amount channel gains in the form of ADs is less than the amount they are investing on a show then channel will close the show to save themselves from loses
whatever we say but at the end TRPs does matter
colors at one point will start feeling RR has no TRP audience except online viewers, so they consider our tweets and comments on FB as spam... we cannot do anything other than try to watch the show on TV and raise the TRPs.
