Well I have a question to ask,
Imagine if the situation was such that Tejwat had 2 kids from say his 1st marriage before he married Mala (the current Thakurainsa). One was a daughter n the other was a son. And Paro was that daughter. And Tejwat has time and again said that the name, continuity of his ancestral traditions and rule is the most important thing to him. He loves his wife, and dearly too.. YET he had no scruples in giving her a spiked drink and making her unconscious to get his way.
And here i have told that if he had 2 children, the daughter once she is married would not be any use to a man like that as she is not the continuity of his family name and only his son will be important. AND i am talking about a man like Tejwat, not any other father. He is more than capable of sacrificing that daughter if it means he gets his so called ruling authority!
Now say Rudra knew this. And everything else happened just as it has happened right now. And when Rudra is about to marry Paro, Tejwat comes and stops it and she takes his side.
She still despite all else saves Rudra's life, cares for his wellbeing when one of her father's guards tries to kill him and earns her father's wrath too by doing it. BUT she goes away with her father who she trusts. AND Rudra knows that Tejwat is taking her away to kill her.
And when he confronts them - Tejwat has hidden Paro away, and gives an emotionally charged speech in her hearing about how he cares for his daughter and will no longer allow Rudra to hurt his little girl, and he will give his life up if it means protecting his daughter and keeping her out of Rudra's hands. AND Rudra is just about to pull the trigger n kill her father, and Paro listening to all of that, would hit Rudra in the head, make him fall unconscious so her father is saved.
And she is sad to have hurt Rudra, but doesn't regret stopping him from killing her daddy.
And she goes away with her father, Tejwat, probably towards her death.
AND now i would like to ask a question, if this was the scenario, would u still feel Paro has betrayed Rudra? That she is wrong?
I would truly like to know the answer. cz we looking as outsiders think - what is her value and connection to the Thakur so that she would betray even Rudra?
But for a child orphaned and brought up by others, the only father figure in her life, a father figure who protected her all along for 15 yrs, who fulfilled all his responsibilities from ensuring her safety, to arranging her marriage to spending the money for her marriage, to getting her wedding clothes; for her that is her father. And its that father's life she saved.
When u look at it this way, wouldn't it be what we would have done? Would we distrust our father for the sake of the words of a stranger who we feel a strange connection with, a stranger we r drawn to.. a stranger who has saved our life a few number of times, a stranger we sometimes feel safe with...
would I allow that stranger to kill my father so that he can take me with him due to his misguided belief that my father is going to kill me? Or would i try to stop him doing it?
cz what it comes down to is - "Would i believe that, my father is going to kill me?" and NOT 'Is Rudra correct or mistaken to think like that..'
cz the man Paro knows him to be, thinks him to be is the one in this snap below, not the monster he really is, and the monster Rudra knows him to be..
