She screamed , the moment she saw a woman scorned in self-definition of scorned love aim a dagger at her. And like always, he came to her rescue and stood between her and Laila like a cement wall. No jaanwar, no jallaad, no demon . She called out for the man who has kept her alive. She sought refuge in 'Rudra' - the destroyer of all evil. She trusted that Rudra with her life who she tries to look for everyday in her sulking muttering of Jallaad. When she felt her skin burning , she looked at Rudra with terrified eyes of a child - an unsaid hope that he would make that okay.
"Jal rahaa hai kya?"
The moment he had an inkling that Laila had done some ghastly handiwork on Paro, his breath caught in his throat , he sprang to Paro's rescue. He didn't care what the world would think, he didn't give two hoots about Paro;s " Don't touch me" bawls. He didn't bother about the line of moral decency between him and Paro as man and woman. He just swept her up like a gust of wind, sorry, stormy wind and poured buckets and hoses of water on her. Terrified. Heart in his mouth. Panicking. Scrubbing and wiping her like a baby. A man who has no heart, no humanity , is an abuser, behaved as though it was him who was smeared with the acidic haldi. And mind you, Paro's hands and brain are important to sign on those papers, not Paro's skin. Paro's vocal chords are important to give testimony, not her wet body that he drapes with complete honour.
" Dhyaan se. Pardaa phat jaayega."
Paro didn't need to do it. Rudra could wear a new kurtaa. Sunehri could fix a new curtain. But she went a step ahead for her sworn enemy. She gently chided him with the curtain tear possibility - and then, she got his sleeve off the hook, gently. Reason? No, not some sudden affection for Rudra. Its those compassion peek-a-boo instances when you are reminded by the writers that Rudra appeals to the NURTURER in Paro. His slightest non-Jallaad moments bring that nurturer out in Paro. That is the Rudra she seeks - the man who protects her like a blanket protects a baby in winters , the man who may play all devil with her, but is her shield of honour and security.
I will only expand what Laila saw, observed and said today. Rudra has invested everything in Paro. Be it his hope of his survival and honour as an officer or be it his hope of ever forming a relationship with someone. Unknowingly, unconsciously, Rudra has moved way beyond the Lima Syndrome - he has woven his whole life around Paro ( Zoya of QH had done the same with Asad in good days of QH) , whatever happens to her, whatever she feels, whatever she suffers , whatever she breathes, sees, lives links to him. Her slightest discomfiture furrows his eyebrows and rattles his so-called cold heart. You just have to see his face when he bathed Paro against her will and then, with her will. He was so scared and desperate as though it was him whose skin was burning. Why? Because that woman's life and everything makes a difference to him, Because he is on the threshold of an intense love which will consume both him and Paro. Because after a period of 15 years , he has found someone with whom he can bind all his shades and all his life. Because finally, he does not need to pretend in front of someone - and he can strip down to his last shred of bone and not be ashamed about it.
Paro? The only thing standing between Paro and Rudra is a MISUNDERSTANDING. The moment that veil drops, this white soul will veil herself behind him , like she has always done in hours of death, danger and crisis. She already has a connection with him. She trusts him with her life irrespective of what she says. And once she loses her only reason to hate Rudra , Paro would redefine "Diya aur Baati Hum". In Rudra, below the epidermis of pseudo-hatred and MUs, Paro has seen a family, she has seen a relative who will stand with her and stand up for her, she has seen a saviour who will protect her white innocence from the world. Her head believes that Rudra is not good , but her heart seeks him when daggers rise and dangers suffocate.Paro is a pure soul and once bound to Rudra, she will hold on to him forever, even when his dark side and his shortcomings fail him. Paro's love may not be as intense as Rudra's , but it will definitely be greater. Yes yes, whenever it happens.
Rudra and Paro are soulmates. It showed in Rudra's panic when he bathed Paro. And it showed in Paro's faith when she screamed his name and trusted him to save her life.
Having said that, in near future, Paro DESERVES to know about Laila. If she has to love Rudra, she has to love him as he is - the package deal. And if Rudra is not ashamed to show her his vulnerability, he should not be ashamed of showing her his underbelly , either. But he is. And that is why he didn't want Paro to see his hedonist side- he has that respect for Paro's virginal soul that he doesn't want to contaminate.
Coming to Laila...
I feel really bad for her. Maybe terrible. Not only because Paro won Rudra in 8 weeks. Not only because Rudra does not love her and never will. Not only because she is showing her worst shades as a woman rejected in love. Its more for the reason that Laila did the same mistake that 90% jilted lovers in this world do. She fell from her dignity , her humanity , she failed the test of fire and wearing skin of a vixen stepped ahead to destroy Rudra and Paro. When she was attacking Paro and emotionally arm-twisting Rudra, i recalled what i always recall in situations like these:

Yes, i know what you will tell me. Vicky, its easier said than done. But wait! Isn't that the exact reason love is so rare? This is the exact reason that so few of us are capable of loving someone in truest sense of the word. I can feel all the sympathy in the world for Laila , but I cannot make Rudra love her ( neither can the darling writers ). You can make Rudra feel all the guilt about 'using' Laila, you can even bring him to his knees and beg forgiveness from Laila , but even then, you cannot pluck Paro from his soul and make him love Laila.
If someone doesn't love us, it is not because something is wrong with us or because we are unworthy of love. Its only because that the person is NOT the missing part of our cosmic puzzle.
Love is true when its white. White. The colour of the most flawless virtue in the universe - VIRGINITY.
And i shall leave you now with a re-echo of the word that sounds the most beautiful from Paro's mouth.
