I thought it meant wife de facto not de jure..

Like Gandharva marriage where the couple gets married by themselves without the presence of society or legal representatives ... and executes the marriage by consensual intercourse! So its a marriage not held in accordance with dharam... rather by mutual consent and action.

Well this is what I thought and what you are saying also kind of indicates the same.

In this context adharmpatni means a wife without the regular marriage rituals like tying the knot, pheras etc.

No that is not what he meant. When Paro says "Don't you dare take my name with urs, coz we are not married and didn't have mangalsutra etc etc, he stops her in the middle and says, look @ your khoon bhari maang and now u are my immoral wife bangayi! ( even without all the rituals)
Omg! Kaise mat lab nikhala itne sweet se word ka😆

Just today I said I love this word and I want to be Adharmi patni😳☺️

Rudra's mind is always in gutter wr Paro is concerned .. 😆 .. Don't think it's going to be platonic marriage even if it is hate marriage ( I mean I hope not .. Something different as is this story ) 😉

Agree 😆 The term was certainly some food for thought and analysis! Very clever of the cv's..😛

I had caught on to the adharmi usage the moment he uttered it. Such a gutter mind you see! I had mentioned this on Shreya's post!! Chalo accha hai that I am not the only one who interpreted it like that. Rudra has no qualms imagining Paro in the morning after Avatar!!

Na... my take is that he meant without rituals, without gharwale and bhaharwale as witness, paro became his wife with the khoon in her maang... adharmi. dharm ki bina

Edited...

Just reading the various other replies now... looks like this viewpoint is already presently...

Dharm or adharmi...RR has amazing dialogue writers too!... i mean they make us discuss so much...where do these writers get these lines from?... Kudos to them too
