Rudra in all his rough edged and multifaceted glory is truly a sight to behold.
A patriotic army officer, smart, aggressive, honest and driven.. A man taught to be ruthless when push comes to shove. A man capable of cruelty yet in possession of a protective streak that runs a mile wide. A man filled with so much anger and self loathing, one who believes there is no salvation in sight. A man who only knows how to veil his affection for his father by way of little barbs embedded in their daily conversation. (And the father? He gives as good as he gets😆) A man capable of showing great tenderness and that the hands that wield a weapon are capable of showing gentleness too. A man afraid of loosing the only family ( The Army) which has shown him equal devotion. A man so sensual... So so sensual.
We know his mother left when he was child. We've seen the flash backs which have succeeded in leaving us with a view of his life in three parts. Life with a loving mother. Life spent in a vacuum waiting, hoping for her return. Life after that little hope was extinguished.
We've seen Rudra, Dilsher Ranawats BSD officer, Jallad son. But when he crossed paths with his mother today I think It finally, finally sunk in that he has a mother too. That he had once been the apple of that very mothers eye.. A thin curtain of rain and a fogged glass couldn't hide that tug of recognition. The eyes... the very eyes he was blessed (cursed?) with held him captivated. Her voice jogged long suppressed memories and in a daze, despite only moments ago reprimanding Aman for being overly soft, he wordlessly let her go. ( Brings to mind, "A man bows his head only before three women...")
How different would this man have been had she not left?
