Ashish Should Help Sanaya Improve

While flipping through the channels after watching RangRasiya last night, I stumbled upon a show on LifeOK. I could only tell from the dressing style of the female leads that the show was based in a Rajhastani backdrop. When they spoke, I doubted my speculation because it was pure Hindi. Then one of the guys in the scene spoke in a somewhat Rajhastani dialect.

When Sanaya speaks in RR, my impression is that she has a flawed Rajhastani accent. When the actors in the above-mentioned show spoke, I felt they have a pure Hindi accent spiced up with bits of Rajhastani here and there. This indicates that Sanaya is far far better in her attempt of catching up the local dialect.

Ashish however seems to be very good. This is no surprise though as he had mentioned in one of his interviews that he is a Rajput so he provides suggestions to RR's creative team. Hence I assume that he's a native of Rajhastan.

Becoming a native speaker is far from an easy deal. It requires a life time of experience. We have an American professor in the Arabic Studies department of our university who teaches Arabic courses. He has gone as far as doing his PhD in Arabic. Still, when he speaks, my Arab friends remark that you can clearly say that he's not a native speaker of Arabic. Based on this analogy, I am not at all expecting Sanaya to master Rajhastani in a short span of time. This is next to impossible even in the long term given the stark difference between Hindi and Rajhastani. Rajhastani is a completely different dialect, not just a different accent to be precise.

Nevertheless, I think Ashish can help Sanaya improve. Sanaya became a fluent Hindi speaker during her show MJHT when she forced herself and her costars to speak with her in Hindi on the sets. I think she should resort to the same strategy with her costars of RR.

Yes Sonya that might be a good idea. Cz Sanaya learned hindi on LRL n MJHT sets by asking every1 else to talk to her in hind alone and not a word of English.. So she will have no choice but to pick the words n respond back in hindi... n it worked very well cz she did learn hindi quite well after all..
So if Ashish speaks with her in Rajasthani as its his native language it might definitely help..
One thing though.. can any1 pick an accent so easily? i am not talking abt the language, but the accent?

BUT on the other hand i think it might be better to dump the Rajasthani dialect altogether for the 2 leads n keep it for the Takur n the other elders... Their target audience is hindi speakers and they don't understand the language either... casein point this forum..

Anyway nice idea!

I am sure Sanaya will learn from Ashish how to communicate in the Rajasthani accent, in one of her interviews I remember reading that she was delighted to have Ashish as a co - star since she has a lot to learn from him. I think once she gets more to do she will slowly get the hang of it too.

She barely gets to say stuff Thakursa's wife keeps doing everything for Paro. Its only from this Monday we get to see more of Paro scenes & her changes.

I for one would certainly support the idea of having the leads communicate in Hindi, Sunara. It would certainly be way more easier for me to understand the show. I still do but I have to depend on English subs to get all the details. However, to keep it authentic, don't you think they don't have a choice but to have them speak in Rajhastani? I mean this show is based in Rajhastan so it would be kind of awkward to see the characters speak in Hindi, nahi? Unless they have people in Rajhastan, especially the young generation, who speak in Hindi.

see even i am not a native speaker na.. i kinda seem to be picking on the Rajasthani words that r being used. i was earlier planning to get subs, but after first few episodes i seem to get the hang of it...so didn't bother. but still i don't know enough to know the difference..
so i guess Indians living in Urban areas in india would be able to answer it better than u or me i guess..if showing that culture n hindi words will go or not..😳

also umm do u think general TRP aunties would think so much like the bunch of us on the internet? 😆

I knew that nothing is impossible for Sanaya but she makes me surprise with her accent. Though i don't know Rajasthani language, but have knowledge about it. She is perfect. I'm proud of being Sanaya fan.
