Laila reaches the bus stop to escape from the village only to find that the last bus has left and the next one will be here in five hours only. Suddenly she spots the village shop from a distance and thinks of calling Paro for help.
Laila begs the village shopkeeper to let her make one last call and after much consolation he agrees. Paro is shocked to see the number and picks the call.
Laila: "Paro, paro bol rahi se ke? (Paro, is it you?)"
Paro: "Haan Laila, ye tum kya karne jaa rahi ho? Aur Rudra se kya kaha tumne? Please aisa mat karo... Tum sun rahi ho na? (Yes Laila, what were you going to do? And what did you tell Rudra? Please don't do any such thing... Can you hear me?)"
Laila: "Haan Paro, main jaan gayi ki ye sab Thakur Sa ki chaal hai aur main kisi tarah jaan bachaa ke bhaag aayi. Manne bacha le Paro, main us Thakur se byaah na karungi... (Yes Paro, I now know its all Thakur Sa's ploy and I managed to escape anyhow. Please save me Paro, I won't marry that Thakur ever...)"
Paro: "Chup ho jaa, dhyaan se meri baat sun, mujhe to aaj koi ghar se bahar jaane nahi dega. Tujhe kya lagta hai Rudra kab tak aayega? (Calm down and listen to me carefully, no one will let me be out of the house today. When do you think Rudra will come back?)"
Laila: "Pata nahi, mere is tarah se manaa karne ke baad wo yaha aayega ki nahi, main nahi jaanti (I don't know and I am not sure if he will return after the way I behaved with him)"
Paro: "Himmat mat haaro Laila, ye batao Delhi ki bus kitni der mein aayegi? Hello... Hello... (Be brave Laila, just tell me in how much time will the bus from Delhi be here?)"
The line is disconnected and Paro tries to call back but in vain. Over here Thakur's men have arrived and injured the shopkeeper on his head and clipped off the line. Laila tries to escape but is unable to and they take her away with her.
Back in the haveli a disturbed Paro's attempts are stopped by a voice, "Are Paro... nayi naveli dulhan hoke aise muh latkaaye kyun baithi hai? (Hey Paro... Despite being a to-be-bride, why are you so low?)"
"Bindi tum?? (Bindi tum??)" Paro rushes to her and gives her a hug, "Kitni der lagaa di aane mein (What took you so long?)"
Bindi: "Are tu to jaanti hai na kal medical ka entrance exam tha, kaise chod aati? Par dekh shaadi mein to aa gayi na? Ab to mood thik kar le meri jaan (You know that I had medical entrance exams yesterday, how could I leave them? But see I am here now. Atleast fix your mood now my dear?)"
Paro: "Are wo sab rehne do, tum bahut acche waqt pe aayi ho Bindi, mujhe tumhare madad ke bahut zarurat hai. Suno... (Leave that Bindi, you are here at the nick of time Bindi, I really need your help. Listen...)" then she goes on to relate all about Laila's condition "Mujhe nahi pata Laila kahan hai, ye bhi nahi jaanti ki Rudra aayega bhi nahi, bas ek umeed hai. Mera ek kaam karogi? (I don't know where Laila is now, neither do I know if Rudra will come or not, but I just have one hope. Will you do something for me?)"
Bindi: "Haan bol Paro... (Yes tell me Paro..)"
Paro: "Bus adde jaake jo bhi bus Delhi se aaye usme Rudra ko dhundhne ki koshish karo, aur main uske ghar ka pata bhi likh deti hun, isse pehle Laila ko kuch ho jaaye Rudra ka milna bahut zaruri hai (Go to the bus stand and whichever bus comes from Delhi, try to find Rudra there, I'll give you his house's address too. Before any trouble befalls Laila, we really need to find Rudra)"
Bindi leaves and Paro calls out, "Bindi, galti se bhi kisi ko ye nahi bataa ki ye sab maine tumse karne ko kaha hai, nahi to Maa-Bapu ke liye Thakur Sa bahut badi musibat khadi kar denge (Bindi, make sure you don't let this out that I asked you to do all that lest any trouble befalls my parents because of this)" Bindi assures her in affirmative and leaves a tense Paro praying for Laila's safety.
Meanwhile in a remote corner of the haveli, the men bring Laila and lock her in a room Thakur questions her, "Kya laga tanne? Ki manne jhaasa deke bhaag nikalegi? Thakur Tejawat Singh jis cheez pe apni nazar ek baar daal dewe hai wo cheez uski ho jaave hai. (Did you really think you would escape? Thakur Tejawat Singh makes sure he gets whatever he lays his eyes on)"
Laila struggles as the men handcuff her and declares, "Chodh de manne Thakur, je is baare me mhare Rudra ko pata chal gaya to tanne chodega nahi dekh lena. (Let me go Thakur, if my Rudra gets to know about this, he won't spare you)"
Tejawat gives an evil grin and states, "Ke baat kar di chori? Tanne ke laage hai, ke thaara Rudra aayega manne maarne, aur main use aisa karne doonga? Thaara bapu gaya par tanne apne ishare par nachaane waali chaabi to ab bhi hai mhaare paas. Soch... mhaare itne saare aadmi aur thaara Rudra akela... Ke hoga? (Do you realise what you just said girl? Did you think that your Rudra will come to kill me and I will let him do that? Your father's gone but I still have the key to make you dance to my tunes. Just think... all my men and your Rudra alone... What'll happen?)"
Laila's anger turns to confusion and fear as he continues, "Yaad rakh Laila...Jis ghadi tu uske saath is haveli ke bahar nikli wo din Rudra ke zindagi ka aakhri din hovega... Je tu mhari na bani, to main tanne kisi aur ki bhi na banne doonga (Remember Laila... The moment you step out of this haveli with him, will be the last moment of his life... If you can't be mine, I won't let you be anyone else's either)"
He then turns to his men ordering " Bandh kar do isne, Paro aur Varun ka byaah ho jaane tak kisi ko iski bhanak na pade. Kal iska byaah hoga... Mhaare saath... (Lock her up, no one should get a hint about this till Paro and Varun's wedding's done. She'll get married tomorrow... With me...)"
The door shuts on Laila's face and she sits back with a helpless expression.
At the bus stand, Bindi is desparately enquiring about anyone named Rudra who knows Laila. The bus from Delhi arrives and Rudra steps down with Aman, oblivious of the same. He rushes towards Laila's house leaving Bindi looking for him.
"Taala, je ke hai Aman? (A Lock? What's this Aman?)" Rudra is perplexed and enquires with the neighbours. They inform him about her father's illness and untimely death.
"Laila ke baapu ki itni buri haalat thi aur usko shaadi karni this? Wo to apne baapu se ghanna prem karti this, to phir? (Laila's father was so dreadfully ill and she was going to get married? But didn't she love her father like anything?)" Aman suggests to Rudra while he is trying to put two and two together and speaks out. "Woh sab to humne Thakur ke haveli jaakar hi pata lagega. Chal apne ghar saaman rakh ke chalte hain (We will get to know that when we get to Thakur's haveli. Let's keep our stuff home and get going)."
At the haveli Paro and Laila are lost in their own worlds while the celebrations are on. "Pata nahi Bindi ko Rudra mila bhi hoga ya nahi. Agar shaadi ka waqt ho gaya to phir main kuch nahi kar paungi. Hey Bhagwaan... Bindi ki madad kariye (God knows if Bindi was able to find Rudra or not. If the wedding timing arrives, I won't be able to help anymore. Oh God... Please help Bindi out)"
Laila is out of her wits and frantically struggles to free herself. After much effort, she unties her hands and rushes to the door to escape but remembrances of Thakur's words stop her "Yaad rakh Laila...Jis ghadi tu uske saath is haveli ke bahar nikli wo din Rudra ke zindagi ka aakhri din hovega... Je tu mhari na bani, to main tanne kisi aur ki bhi na banne doonga (Remember Laila... The moment you step out of this haveli with him, will be the last moment of his life... If you can't be mine, I won't let you be anyone else's either)"
She turns back thinking, "Je main yaha se bahar gayi, to Thakur Rudra ne naa chodega. Mhaare paas us Thakur se byaah karne ke alawa koi aur raasta nahi hai. Main Rudra ne marne na de sakoon hoon. (If I leave from here, Thakur won't spare Rudra. I don't have a choice but to marry him. I can't let Rudra die)"
Rudra and Aman reach their house and find a girl advance towards it from the opposite direction caling out, "Rudra... Rudra... Aap dono mein se Rudra kaun hai? (Rudra... Rudra... Who's Rudra between the two of you?)"
Rudra replies in affirmative and Bindi goes on to relate what had happened to Laila and that she needs to be rescued.
"Par ye sab aapne kaise pata? (But how come you know all this?)" Rudra enquires.
Bindi is about to tell about Paro but stops recalling her instruction that it may ruin her wedding. "Wo.. Wo. Laila mhaari dost hain, ab chaliye jaldi... (Laila is a good friend, now please lets leave asap)"
Here Laila thinks, "Par... uske bina jee bhi to na sakoon hoon main. Ke karun? (But... I can't live without him either)"
She thinks and decides upon something.
Bindi reaches the haveli and makes the duo sneak into her room and gives them some of her veils to drape themselves. They move around in the haveli trying to find Laila and overhear some men discuss sending food to eat in the room. They immediately move to that direction.
The trio reaches the room's door but find guards at the door. Rudra tries to move ahead to combat them but Bindi stops him suggesting this might create chaos at the place and suggests they try to sneak in from an alternate entrance like a window.
They rush to move out and enter from the window but Paro's mother stops Bindi, "Are Bindi? Kathe jaa rahi se? Paro ne mandap mein laana hai na, chal... (Hey Bindi? Where are you off to? You have to take Paro to the mandap, don't you remember? Let's go...)"
Laila has now decided "Je maine Thakur se byaah na kiya to wo Rudra ne maar dega, par Rudra ke bina mhaare jeena kis kaam ka, to isliye main apne aap ne hi khatam kar doongi (If I don'tmarry Thakur, he will get Rudra killed, but without Rudra its useless for me to live, so its better I finish myself off)"
Her eyes wander off in the room and find a knife.
Bindi expresses her issue to them and Aman assures, they will take care of it and she leaves. Reaching Paro's room she assures her that Rudra has arrived and Laila will be free. Paro is happy and gets ready for the nuptials.
Rudra and Aman struggle to climb to the room's window. But a dreadful sight awaits them as soon as they open the window.
Laila has stabbed herself and collapses down.
