Rangrasiya : Where Agony Meets Happiness
Rangrasiya
One of the most anticipated shows since it's unveiling to the audience premiered on December 30th 2013. Colors and Nautanki Films' new show, Rang Rasiya is a definite must watch as it has all the makings of a hit show.
The show starts off with two different tragedies thrown upon two young kids. Paro's (Sanaya Irani) parents were making their way back home on a bus when the entire bus comes into contact with Bharat Suraksha Dal (BSD). The BSD start shooting everyone on the bus and end up killing Paro's parents.
We then move on to Rudra (Ashish Sharma) who is an angry and extremely hurt young boy. Later we come to know that Rudra's childhood is cursed with people mocking him as his mother eloped leaving her family behind.
The tragedy gives birth to hatred and vengeance within the child who then turns into a heartless soul as his father teaches him never to trust a beautiful woman as they are never loyal to anyone, not to their father, husband or even their child.
During a bus ride, a heartbroken Paro comes in contact with Rudra, the young boy who was still searching for his lost heart. Their respective buses stop next to each other when little Paro finds Rudra crying. She throws her doll towards him and gives him a smile. Probably this scene hints a lot about the future story that is yet to get unfolded.
Both their childhoods are stricken with loss and pain, it's just that one of them still can draw the light of happiness from the darkness of grief whereas the other keeps on drowning into the undesired holes of agony.

Cut to 15 years after the tragedies and we see a grown-up Paro running through the desert with her cousin. She sees an injured camel and stops. She asks her cousin to get help while she stays with the camel. She then sees someone on a camel and calls out to them for help. The person walks towards Paro and it is revealed that he is a BSD officer. Paro is very scared of him. He pours gasoline in a circle around Paro and lights it up. Paro screams in fear and the episode ends there.
As mentioned in our previous article about the promotional video, watching Rang Rasiya is like watching a film. The setting is beautiful and the direction holds so much attention to detail that each frame seems like it is an integral part of the story.
The dialogues written with the Rajasthani dialect is brilliant and Raghuvir Shekhawat again proved his brilliance after Madhubala, Balika Vadhu and Diya Aur Baati Hum. Gautam Hegde and Janaki V are splendid with the screenplay which runs smoothly along with the aura of the story.
Sanaya looks very different yet beautiful in the traditional Rajasthani lehenga cholis. Ashish has big screen heroic look to him that is definitely going to have the ladies swooning.
All in all, Rang Rasiya gets a 5 out 5. The show has started off with a bang, literally. This is definitely a show you do not want to miss. After Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, Saurabh Tewari has another hit in his hands! To watch Rang Rasiya, tune into Color's at 9:30 PM IST. What did you think of Rang Rasiya?
