She is sure he is not going to be there tonite, she was debating to go to Ritu's. Her Mom had called twice, Bai and Aada wanted her not to be alone on such festive occasion. No one at work knew tho, she was fasting, she got progressively tired as the day wore on. Sabina and Prayag had 15 things lined up for her to do by 11 AM. The groundbreaking at the Sohna Road site had gotten pushed up to Deepavali day. People were walking around like they were chickens with heads cut off. The official plans for every apartment type had to be laminated and put on massive poster boards, to be displayed to the general public and invitees at the ceremony.
Some things were not final yet, she did as much as she could. Some serious discussions were required about Block D, the smallest apartment types. They were 8 floors tall and their fire exit almost slammed into the periphery wall of the site. The gap was barely 5 feet''. Somethings had to be fully redone some partially.
Swati and Ira stopped by twice, she couldn't go on her coffee break due to work and "other reasons"
She gets generous compliments for her saree though. Comibined with the teeka on her forehead, speculation was rife.
She laughed it off saying "Main apne best friend ke husband ke saath lunch karne ja rahi hoon, Kritik"
Ritu called her every hour asking her of she will be in Def Col at 7. She says she cannot get out of work before 7

K: Main bahut tired hoon

K: Kal subah 10 baje uthoongi aur saara din relax
R:Is he coming back tomm?
K:I did not ask
R: Is Dad home?
K: He was when I left home, the lawyer was to come by. They were going to buy an apartment, a floor of a bungalow he said at Gulmohar park some place
R (shocked) kiske liye?
K: No idea!
R:How can u be so unconcerned?
K: I worry about my money Ritz! (softly)
R: Ab kya hua? Did you borrow again?
K: Hmmm from Citi Bank
R: Kitna?
K: 5 lakhs only. It will be approved in two weeks

K smiles fondly, her FIL had brought her sargi, the platinum jewelry and tons of expensive candy. Dadi had sent her a sindoor container in the shape of rose, carved in gold''

She checks her reflection out in the pink and peach lehanga. Its stunning''.. she stands on her toes to test how tall she would be . held the two sides of the lehanga in her hands'''.. Jamuna was so pleased with her appearance it was hard to get her to leave the room.
She wore matching bangles in pink and peach'''.. she twirled and preened, danced around the room, did her fave dandiya steps, smiled, giggled''. Forgetting how painfully hungry she was. Around 2 at work, she had actually felt a lil faint. One of her coworkers had wondered if she was sick.
Now she felt great for some reason.
She walked to her closet and brought out the ornate carved box. Slowly lifted the black beaded string out of it and wrapped it lovingly around her neck
She was sure he was not going to be home tonite. "So he would never know how much she loved make believe. How much she craved for happiness brought on by surreal actions. She would take it all off tonite when she went to bed. He will never find out"
She wore a finely crafted diamond necklace and wore matching sparkling stones in her ears in hands. She stare dat her engagement ring for a while, before gently slipping it into her finger. Her hair is in an elegant half open half tied style

She was tempted to, she decided to check it out''. She walked gingerly up the stairs, turned on one light, to reveal a spectacular sight, roses of every color in full bloom''' the November sky sparkled, she couldn't locate the moon, she pretended to look at the moon through the sieve and smiled, she heard foot steps, suspecting its Jamuna she smiles
Just when she goes to lower it, an image appears through the gauzy mesh
She drops the sieve!!!
Shantanu Gujral stood there. Wearing blue jeans and a white cotton shirt, suede shoes, freshly shaved and showered'..
She twirls around in sheer shock.
Tears form in her eyes in happiness and angst
She turns towards the waist length retaining wall, looks at the dense green forest to her East.
"Its just my imagination" as a tear rolls down, she furiously clears her eyes as if they are fogged up😭😭
"No its not!" he says bending down 😳😳
Breathes on her shoulder, as she feels his chin scrape her skin
