It's been a long time since I said anything on the forum.

Just to give you a clear picture, since my mom is from Konkan Maharashtra and my dad from Konkan Karnataka.

Kudal is about 100 km north of Goa, but in Maharashtra. My grandpa lived there for a few years and I spent many summers there. The language spoken is the Malwani version of Konkani. Yashu is from Masura which is about 30 km from Kudal. Masura is my mom's native place too. I've been there just once.

Amrita Rao and Deepika are from Karnataka and are Chitrapur Saraswat Konkanis. That language is a different form of Konkani.

Hope this helps some confusion.

Why, you don't like Goa? Don't worry, I'm not crazy about Goa either.

Kudal wasn't so bad (just a tad boring back then) Used to be a quaint little town/village. But then after the Konkan railway started it just boomed. When I used to visit it in the 80's and early 90's, it didn't even have an English Medium instruction school. Now celebrities go river rafting. Wow! times have changed and I'm getting very old.
