Thanks to each and everyone of you for making this story so read and talked about!!

This is the 8th Topic for this tale!😳

I would have ended it in 10 parts

Now its at 95 parts and counting...

The original idea came from Saaz 👏👏👏

This story was initially based on a real life account of a couple we both knew

It has slowly evolved into a tale of a successful, educated, young urban couple.

Both from vastly differing backgrounds, different cultures, languages and hugely different socio economic situations.

She is the only child of a lower middle class Gujarati couple, a topper, educated in Delhi a brilliant architect, once widowed, now consulting for a construction company in South Mumbai.

He is the youngest of two boys, a Punjabi, Construction Design Engineer educated in one of the top colleges in US, works as a Director overseeing the upscale home building project she is consulting for. His Dad is a successful commodities trader, Mom a South Mumbai socialite.

Both are strong, opinionated, and egotistical.

She is elegant, poised, quiet and shy

He is stylish, outspoken, articulate and aggressive

He will teach her to "live"

She will teach him to "feel"

Its a good barter!

It chronicles the journey they undertake in order to fulfill a "arranged marriage" plan made by the seniors.

Khanak: Not happening! (she can feel his fingers on that spot long after its gone)

Shaan: khanak... Lets go upstairs! (tickling her bare back)

Khanak: nahi!

Shaan: I promise to get rid of that slug for you!

Khanak: Umm mm

His phone rings

He doesn't want to get it!

They both stand there, leaning on each others foreheads. He places his other hand on her waist, brings the other one from back to waist, she pushes him gently

He walks away,. While she stands there leaning on the wall eyes closed, walks upstairs to fix her clothes.

He is on the phone when she walks back downstairs, he is trying to type and answer some questions, hangs up and sifts through the hundreds of sheets of papers on the coffee table.

He walks around the house taking and making multiple calls, leaving his phone where he ends the conversation

He seemed to be talking about some water craft and lease agreements and what not, she walks by him he looks up and goes back to reading, and typing, she sits down on the sofa and picks up the Boston Globe.

Shaan: have you eatn anything?

Khanak: Ummm mmm

He smiles on receiving the trade mark response

Shaan: How are you feeling today?

Khanak: Better'

"When will he quit asking me!" she thinks, mortified

Shaan: Good! Are you sleepy yet?

Khanak: Nahi! Abhi nahi ("Not after the stunt by the door" "Wait until I get back at you")

Shaan: I will start looking at maps soon

Khanak: Hmmm

Shaan: Do you have a list of places you've researched?

Khanak: Not really

Shaan: You were hoping something would cause the trip to get cancelled? (softly)

Not looking up from his papers.

Khanak: Umm mmm

"I better go!" she thinks

Shaan:So you were looking forward to it?

There!

Khanak: Umm' you could say that!

Shaan: The tone's not very convincing Khanak

Khanak: I am signed up for Toastmasters after we return, they should fix that tone!

He laughs out loud

Shakes his head, "You just don't give up do you" (looking at her)

Khanak: No!

She finds his phone lying near the Boston Globe supplement, she quietly grabs italong with the paper and walks to the Master bed room

Goes to the bath, and looks at her reflection and does a "YESSS!" and does a pulling motion with her hand! Turns it off and hides it in the cavernous shelfs under the sink, behind hand towels and bar soaps.

Returns to the living room with a straight face, The last call didn't seem like a serious one either, he was talking about French Open!

Serves him right!

She goes into the kitchen and busies herself making breakfast, tries multiple kinds of cream cheese and bagels, toasts one slice from three kinds, makes herself some 3 cups of chai, while eating a blue berry muffin, a banana nut muffin lays on the side, with a bite chewed off

There are signs of him having made himself omlete there is a pan in the sink and some plates and the eggs are out

Shaan: where the hell did I put my phone?

Walks around all over the living and dining area while she quietly walks over to the sun room off of the master, sits on the rattan chair, places her breakfast and newspaper on it, smiles, and starts to read and eat''..

The smug smile is hard to wipe off

Shaan: Khanak'''..

She smiles and continues to sip her chai, pours more into her cup, eats some bagel in between, hates the chives and tomato cream cheese, is ready to spit it out, the honey almond is yummy'..

Shaan: khanak have you seen my phone

His voice gets closer

Khanak looks at him like she is seeing him for the first time

Shaan: in case you cant recall, I am the guy you married 7 days ago! (pissed)

Khanak: Oh!

Shaan:Where the hell is my phone? Have you seen it?

Khanak: No! Kal raat ko Ritu se baat karke aapko de diya na?

Shaan rolls his eyes and goes "Really?" "Like you did not see me make 7 calls in 20 minutes a few minutes ago?"

Khanak goes back to the newspaper

He is gone, she hides her face in her palm and giggles.

Shaan: did I make the last call on the sofa?

Khanak: Main to chai bana rahi thi! (innocent)

Shaan: weren't you on the couch? I am going to go look at maps

Khanak: Jee!

He is amazed how she can be so calm but then realizes she didn't even bring her phone or it must be lying someplace. She was completely disconnected from the universe. She was with him and that's all she cared about''' now!

For some reason his heart skipped a beat

He brings his camera and takes pictures of her reading the newspaper, she has no clue he is watching

He takes over a dozen, many times focussing and and not clicking but just removing the camera from his eye and just watching her.

Her feet are up on the glass covered rattan table, one foot on another, he zooms on her toe rings catching the sunlight and shoots some

Tiny feet... perfectly shaped, the nail color complete not chipped in one spot...

The henna almost intact...

He lets out an audible graon...

Half hour later...

when she gets up to put her things in the sink, he is sprawled on the bed looking at a dozen paper maps, lying on his belly, wearing navy bermudas and a white UMASS tee

She tries to sneak past him

Shaan: Hey!

Khanak: Hmm

Shaan: Come here, let me show you where the boat's parked

Khanak: I have to set this first

Shaan: Do it later,

Khanak: nahi! Abhi! (walks away, places everything carefully, runs water)

Returns

Shaan makes room for her on the bed, she pushes some maps around and lays on her belly by him face resting on hands, legs swinging back and forth. Side by side, like roomies...

Shaan pushes a map in front, and gives her a range "Yaha batao"

She randomly places her hand on a spot!

He grabs her hand and plays on her bangles, his foot reaches for hers, she shoves it, chuckles'

Shaan: I have told you the name of the place.

Khanak: What if I fail the quiz?

Shaan: Then you don't get to go sailing! Khanak, where the hell is my phone? (distracted)

Khanak: (not showing her disappointment) Really? Cool! Then yaha! (points with her left hand)

He grabs it, playing on both

Shaan: Oops! Sorry! Wrong answer! Now we just stay home... and make out!😆😉

Cannot believe that she is the mischievous kind to hide his phone ... when he finds out he's gonna take a revenge she'll never forget!

but then how can I forget that she climbed a tree to get into Suraj's room.

Adi ki bachchi tu kabhi bhi naya thread ka link nahi deti hai old thread mein!! Meri bhrast dimaag I went on refreshing 100 times seeing nothing is happening but knew u were updating!

Phir dimaag ki batti jali & checked the homepage & saw this new thread!

Itni kasrat kar kar ke teri threads ko khatam karti hoon aur yeh madam kuch batati bhi nahi hai! Hmph!!! 😡 Ek aur Khanak hai tu!! 😃 Kured kured ke baatein nikalni parti hai!

Congrats on the new thread & on the new world record! 😃 We did it!! Kahan tu 10 parts mein khatam kar rahi thi & now it will go to 10 threads at least! 😃

Ok went out, had pizza, had a haircut, naha dho ke ishmart banke aa gayi main!!! Meri swagat karo!! 😆

And Khanak u r trying to make Shaan bewakoof?? He is too ishmart, like me 😆, he will find out! He will just keep a tab on u & u will urself lead him to the hiding place.

Or he will make out & u will start blabbering & in that u will blurt out! Yeh banda bahoot khatarnak kisam ke chalak hai!! 😃

And Serendipity is waiting for them! 😃 When r they sailing out?? So the pact will be broken in middle of Atlantic under the starlit sky!! How romantic! 😍 And finally in the virtual world the Israelis & Palestinians will live cordially & peacefully! 😆

Khanak toh vegetarian hai varna he would have treated her to clam chowder of Northeast!! What about Boston Beans?? She can have that right? Or does it have bacon or beef broth? No idea. But there must be a vegetarian version.

Vandu dekha maine kaha tha na Adi pahele dheel deti hai phir kheench leti hai!! And again next update will be something that will stop our heartbeats in a flash. 😃 So be ready girls for ur mouth to drop open! 😆
