True, and the reason is quite obvious (as you also mention later), the serial's purpose, that is, 'rang badalti odhani' has already been achieved for quite some time now, and so the fumbling with short term skits. More the reason for my post...

1. The fast forward you speak of is essentially three seperate tracks which can happen in the rest of the year contract that RBO has I believe been given an extension for- which means that there is a very high possibility that a story based content can happen if the CVs incline to

The reason I didn't really think of them as long term tracks was because, Khanak getting preggie meant less of heavy duty Shanak scenes, which wouldn't forbode well w.r.t trps 😆 plus imagining a shanak & baby phase just doesn't gel well with the youthful RBO flavor in my opinion...Shaan and music company - certainly, high time he started having a career away from home and hearth but then we've already seen a similar track with his singing career and would be repetitive. Not to mention, the chase phase in any track (I mean Shaan wooing Khanak) has always been most interesting and a trp clincher.

2. The second thing you speak of- a Season 2..which IMO has excellent potential given the popularity of the lead couple..a brand new story with the same leads..we have spoken of this for quite a while at CCorner and realised that there are certain criteria that have worked so far for season 2 to happen. Going by season 2 of two shows- KMH2 and CB2

a. The production house must have an inclination to do so (in case of both KMH & CB)

b. there has to be a huge fan following (KMH) or the channel should have garnered extremely good TRPs on it (CB)

c. The leads should actually be dating each other in real life - while this may purely be a coincidence, (in case of both KMH & CB) it probably in my view makes it easier to convince the leads to do the show.

For a Season2 to happen, the above three play an important role, I believe that current Indian TV cannot do stories beyond confession..they falter and they become stale, inane and resort to TRP gimmicks to keep the show running, I think you raise a very good point..I think most shows must stop at confession and if they don;t have a good story to tell, then from a marketing standpoint bring the couple (especially if garnered a huge fan base) in a different avataar in the same show..I am all for it..

You bring up very good and valid points. But not to forget there was also a KumKum. I would not want the channels to think of it as season 2, rather perhaps more on the lines of Kumkum, where the transition between old and new RBO would be seamless, but the difference would be the new storyline. It may actually work, if they could perhaps have the new RBO storyline well scripted and ready for roll out.

The delay between season 1 and 2 of the other shows could very well be because of unavailability of actors due to other commitments and/or lack of a new script. I do agree TRP's play a huge part in the comeback of a show, and

for that very reason,

RBO cannot afford to have a delay between the old and new storyline, has to be seamless if at all.

this is not necessarily about the show ending, it is about an old wine in a new bottle.. You got the point! 😛 which may prove to be good for the shanak brand, especially given that now, shanak have been reduced to a TRP couple. (Hurts to see that 😕)

Hopefully, if they like this idea, they can dedicate a smart creative on the back burner to work on a new RBO script, while the short skit phase continues, in order for this s

lightly novel and unique approach to become a reality but then there's always the first time!😛 Or as shanakyasharan puts it, it may all come down to:
