I agree Sareeta... that is the gist of the article... basically continuing to suggest that television is a female medium, while cinema is a male medium (which seems to be the opinion among journalists and scholars working on media).

But one change is that now they are saying that Indian women, at least of a particular generation, are actually putting these demands, to see men de-robed/unclothed/whatever the correct term is...

Could that be right?

reg.,duppata /pallui do not agree with him.,since they are already in full covered dress and dropping the duppata does not have that muchsensual effect as that of a shirtless man.Infact very less effect.
and shirtless men have no dress at all on the top so the comparison is incorrect.
and they do not show the pallu dropping in the shows as far as i knowi t is always the hubby catching hold of the pallu.
aand dragging and nothing more excpet may be a couple of shows
at the most the near bare blouses with doris.I felt what he meant was the sensual effects on the minds of the respective sexes.But he should have checked the reality i feel.
