Who's Watching?

Well, it may seem like a thing that passed and is of no consequence now, but the little space on the wall in Shaantanu's room holds more significance than that is apparent.

Whilst it held the picture of Shaan (notice it is not Shaantanu) and Natasha, it was more a warning to anyone who entered that room ,specifically to Khanak and even to Shaantanu himself that he was to be Shaan and not himself and Khanak was with 'Shaan' and not SHaantanu and that he was always someone else's world perhaps.

Shaantanu's immediate / prompt removal of the photo was only indicative of how conscious and aware he was of Khanak's presence and her feelings...

We did have the infamous Hetal Baa, come and gift Khanak and Shaantanu the picture of Khanak's late husband and while all watching sighed at the injustice, little did anyone notice that Shaantanu although miffed never mentioned or even suggested or even expressed discomfort with teh picture... neither did Khanak... that moment passed, as soon as the dinner was over and the night passed... the new day brought a new level of comfort , the two of them are so comfortable... and now more so withtheir true selves... they are not Bahu or Natasha's Shaan... they are now...

Khanak and Shaantanu... on their way to be and realize ... SHaantanu's Khanak and Khanak's Shaantanu!

Your thoughts please.

PS - I didnt want this to be lost in the episode thread... since i felt the picture had a significance far more deep than is apparent...

U r right to have opened a separate thread for this... that picture of Suraj on the wall is hugely significant! Must give credit to Shaan... Men are so territorial, and for him, to have literally given up his space and his wall for Khanak, hints at where the story is headed...

I bet Natasha is going to notice that her picture is gone from Shaan's room, like how she is slowly fading away from his mind as well. Not her fault but she just wasn't the person Shaan needed in his life...

The other day when Khanak said that only her way will work in the room... I was thinking that one day ShaNak might come to a conclusion- outside the room, it's the Khandelwal house and their rules apply. Inside the room, it is ShaNak space, and Khanak's rules will apply:)

^^ I couldnt agree more... especially about Tasha's significance in Shaan's life... she needs to know... reality hurts but sometimes things arent what you thought them to be... and she has always measured her significance in Shaan's life by these superficial things as watch kahaan hai, photo kahaan hai etc... I think, Tasha needs to grow to... and while we thought that Shaantanu didnt grow up... he did, way beyond our imagination , way beyond his parents' imagination, he knows what he wants and the confusion that appears is just a passing thing that he will deal with, deep down, he had taken the decision the moment he decided to say Yes to Khanak!

and also there hasn't been a moment where Khanak when being alone in the room has looked at the pic and cried her heart out!!! it shows how much has changed since the first meeting of ShaNak till now

^^ Shriya - I agree that Natash will always now , face or encounter Khanak's Husband or should I put it, like the way I like it - SHaantanu and not 'Shaan'. 'Shaan' was a facade that Shaantanu had to put up...

Did you notice that he did say jo log mujhe kareeb hai wo mujhe shaan bulaate hai and when Khaank retorted asying he likes Shaantanu - he didnt object at all.. She recognizes him for what he is! Just that... no strings attached...

Yup... Sareeta... 'Shaan' is the uber-cool dude... but Shantanu is his name and his identity and his character.... which Khanak has made him see:)

^^ Gaayu - I do apologize but I will refrain, from responding to comments on Shaantanu's name for now; am in the midst of typing the post out and it would take time ..Gee... i seem to take time eh?... cant help it, blame it on my work that decided to kill me since 4 days!

Can you believe it, I have six posts that I am working on simultaneously... and have targeted to complete them atleast before the weekned! Long posts! LOL... only... I should be awake as soon as I get home...
