Hey Everyone!!
It just so happened, that last weekend, I saw the old hindi film Waaris, starring Smita Patil. For those of you who haven't seen this film....Smita gets married to Raj Kiran, but before they have their 'suhaag raat', Raj Kiran gets killed. (That's not the whole story, but only the relevant part). Smita then has a song picturised on her, which goes:
"Ghunghat utha ke na dekha,
Chumi na haathon ki mehndi,
Saji reh gayi sej meri,
Dil mein rahi baat dil ki,
Milne ka ab silsila yeh,
Khayalon mein chalta rahega..."
The happy version of this song is called "Husn Ki Vaadiyon Mein", and the song above is one of the sad versions.
Now I'll come to the point...to mudde ki baat yeh hai, that recently, there's been a lot of mention of Suraj. I remebered the whole sequence of Khanak and Suraj, and then this song, and I thought it fitted Khanak so well. Suraj also died after he married Khanak, but before he could see her.
I don't have a link for this song but if you search for it, you can see it for yourselves. (That is ofcourse, if you agree with me!!)
Would love to receive feedback on this.....
Sorry if this has been posted previously.

Interesting. I definitely agree with you hun. The song does situate around what ShaNak and Suraj are facing. I think Suraj is brought up so much now because Khanak has to first accept that Suraj is now her past. Only then can she ever move on in her life with Shanatnu as her present and future. Great song pick. 😃

Hmm..very interesting point made there....and Maddy i agree with you completely as to why Suraj is mentioned it has to be because Khanak has to learn to accept that he is her past ..and FebFlower( sorry don't know your name)..what happens at the end of the movie ..sorry i know its kind of off topic but i waas just wondering whether odhaani might go that way

I agree with you. Khanak must accept that Suraj is her past, and Shantanu is her present (and hopefully future..😆).
I think she should remember him in happiness and as a good part of her life. Thanks for liking the choice of song....😊

Hey Heena!!
In the film, after Raj Kiran dies, Smita doesn't actually marry again. She gets killed in the end whilst trying to save her sisters child...😭(She also kills the bad guy before dying....!)
That's only her part though, the movie is also about her sister, played by Amrita Singh.
I don't think we'll have any of that in Odhani, hopefully. I just thought the song was really appropriate for the Suraj and Khanak track.
The name is Zeba by the way....😊
