The episode starts off with a man separating Ranbir and Rano's hands who turns out to be Ranbir's father. Ranbir starts to explain that Rano is his friend and that he's celebrating her birthday. Ranbir's father however starts to insult Rano saying that she isn't worthy of being Ranbir's friend. He then tells Ranbir's bebe to take Ranbir inside. Rano sadly returns back to the dishes and the old lady.
The next day, Rano is looking at the watch Ranbir gave her and think about him and the party. While she's lost in her thoughts Kamla comes and starts yelling at Rano saying that she stole the watch. Rano tells her that she did not steal it but Kamla yells at her more. Kamla realizes how important the watch is to Rano and decides to break it. She throws it on the ground and is about to step on it but steps on Rano's hand which covers the watch. After a while Kamla moves her foot and grabs Rano while Rano throws the watch under the couch. Kamla then threatens Rano to do work. While Rano is doing her homework Kamla stops her and makes her do house work and is forced to do her homework at night.
Rano opens a drawer and holds the watch. She thinks about Ranbir and how they met and when she puts the watch back, it is shown that some years have gone by. By now Kamla has given birth to two kids and continues to be rude to Rano. At the fields Gurcharan talks to Rano about how everyone has a mother but Rano interrupts saying not everyone gets a mother's love.
The village head comes and asks Gurcharan for his land andsays that do partnership (sorry didn't really understand what he said) Gurcharan however refuses saying that he cannot give his land as it is like his mother which makes Kamla upset because they would've gotten a lot of money through this. Gurcharan leaves and so does the head of the village, after he gives money to Kamla. Rano sees this and questions Kamla but Kamla refuses saying she didn't take money and calls Rano a liar.
It's the Vaisakhi mela and Rano is shown washing dishes. Rano's friends come to get her but Kamla come and doesn't allow Rano to go. She tell the girls to leave and gives Rano more chores to do. Years go by and it's the mela again and Rano is shown all grown up doing chores. Her friends come and say that this year Rano has to come to the mela but as usual Kamla refuses to let Rano go. Rano's friend Nimi has an argument with Kamla but ends with Rano staying back doing chores.
Gurcharan is waiting anxiously for Rano as she is getting her results today. Rano comes and tell him she passed and they have a nice father daughter moment. Gurcharan gives money to someone and has them distribute sweets to everyone to celebrate that Rano is now a teacher. The old lady is shown and Gurcharan gives her sweets and asks her to bless Rano so that she can get married to a good boy. The lady smiles and says that Rano was born to make love immortal and can't be bound to a relationship. She tells Rano that today her life is going to change and she will meet someone who will accept her. Gurcharan looks worried but Rano consoles him.
Rano and Gurcharan arrive home and he tells Rano to give the sweets to Rano but Rano doesn't want to. Gurcharan tells her how Kamla is her mother and will be happy that she passed. Meanwhile Kamla sees them and takes off her jewellery and pretends to do work. Rano comes inside with the sweets and offers them to Kamla. Kamla asks her what's the occasion and ends up grabbing Rano's hand. Gurcharan sees and questions Kamla. Kamla tells him that she asked Rano why she brought sweets but she wouldn't tell her. Gurcharan tells her about Rano passing and Kamla changes her tunes and pretends to be nice. Rano, seeing this leaves.
A bunch of cars come to the gurdwara and men come and start pushing people out of the way. In the process they push an old lady who bumps into Rano and they both fall. The lady tells Rano how the rich are being cruel even at a temple. A man comes out of the car and starts walking up the stairs of the gurdwara. When he comes to the top, Rano stands in front of him and the man turns out to be Ranbir's father.
