I think both Deepika and Debina were nicely chosen beauty wise, but personally, I love Deepika more. If Deepika was always in tears with Ravan, that was the Sagar's fault, not hers, because she had to do what they asked her to. Also, there were moments in the old Ramayan where she did show anger, and there her acting was brilliant.😃
I also think both Sagars showed a little extreme in the Sita roles. Maybe Sita wasn't supposed to be crying a lot like Ramanand Sagar showed, but I think Anand Sagar showed Sita as too angry. I think her true characterization was somewhere in the middle: angry at Ravan, but also maintaining her control over her emotions. I remember reading in the book that Sita's anger was like a spitting serpent's, but there were also moments where she would lose hope and be reduced to tears, in which Trijata would give her hope again. I think Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan showed less of Sita's angry side😡, and Anand Sagar's Ramayan less of Sita's soft natured side😭.
In the Telugu Sampoorna Ramayana, although it was only a movie, the characterization of Sita in it was perfect, because she was both angry and sad. Both of these Sagar Ramayans are also good, and for the most part the characterization of Sita was also good, but if only both made it in the middle instead of taking the extremes, the role of Sita would be perfect.😉
Personally though, My family and I are partial to Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan.😛 Although we think Gurmeet and Debina, for their age, are improving everyday and are acting overall good, we love Arun Govil and Deepika. For us, their acting was flawless, but that's only our opinion, so I hope nobody was offended.😳
