Since, Lord Vishnu is the protector it is his duty to save whoever comes to him. Devi Lakshmi being his consort understand very well about her husband's duties. Being given the status of the Protector of the creations and the Goddess of Wealth, the couple are very well aware of their responsibilities. And being powerful Gods, they are like mother and father to all those under them (under their protection).

And as kiranraghu pointed out, Goddess Lakshmi, behaves like a mother and will never be irritated that people come to her husband all the time for help. She'll rather feel proud that her husband is the one who saves so many from trouble and destruction so many times.

Ananya had posted the reason in 'Doubts and Discussions' thread.

Discussion about why Vishnu as Mohini consummating with Shiva was going on...

The reason was that a boon given to "Mahishi", cousin of Mahishasur ,who was slayed by Durga.
So the story is related to Durga killing Mahishasura, after his death ,his cousin Mahishi in a fit of rage to avenge her cousin's killing does a severe penance and asks for the boon of immortality from Brahma but since this wasn't possible Brahmatells her to ask for another boon which was 'near to immortality' Mahishi slyly asks that a son from Vishnu and Shiva's union should slay her; Brahma chuckles and says 'so be it' n vanishes. Mahishi is so thrilled thinking she's almost immortal now because both Vishnu n Shiva being male ,how could they reproduce a son??
As usual she becoms a tyrant ,troubling the three worlds...
All the worried Devtas approach Vishnu n Shiv for help, it is then Vishnu takes the form of Mohini 'enchantress' and consummate with Shiva, thus a son is born to them ,who has the powers of Shiva n Vishnu

For this reason, Lord Vishnu had to take up the form of a female.

As per the boon, Devi Parvati could not sire this son who was to kill Mahishi.

Somehow, I cannot imagine Lord Shiva becoming the woman.

If the common people have slandered Sita Devi, it wouldn't take long for them to do the same to Lakshmi Devi too if she became Mohini.

Devi Lakshmi, being a married woman cannot take the form of Mohini and go amidst a group of Devas and Asuras and dance for their pleasure.

Nice question raised here.... And its already been nicely answered that mother would never feel irritated if kids disturb their father.
And also, she is never different from Vishnu, just a female manifestation of His energy and power.
Talking of Lakshmi, I have a question... What is her Vahana (vehicle)?

The female manifestation of Vishnu is Vaishnavi. She was sent for the aid of Durga when all the female manifestations of the Gods were called upon to fight Raktabheeja (I hope I am on the right track).

Another legend, the legend of Ekadashi, says that when Lord Vishnu was fighting a demon (I think the name was Mura) for a long long time, and took rest in a cave, the demon came to kill him. A female energy appeared from Lord Vishnu and killed the demon, thus protecting Lord Vishnu. She was named Ekadashi (since she appeared on the eleventh day of the waxing moon) by Lord Narayan. He also blessed her saying that anyone who observes the fast on Ekadashi will be relieved from sins and would be liberated from materialistic desires.

I had read some stories that say her vehicle was the owl but I'm not sure of this.

I thought that akhl's original question about whether Lakshmi gets irritated or not was more tongue-in-cheek. 😉Nonetheless, very good explanation.

I thought that akhl's question re: Mohini was more about why she, rather than Vishnu, couldn't dance and entertain the devas and the asuras. For which your last para was the answer.👍🏼

I doubt he was asking why couldn't Lakshmi have Shiva's baby🤢

I never meant it in that way but was just repeating what I have learned from Ananya.

Thanks Vibs for the Ekadashi & Vaishnavi story. What I meant to say was she was no different from Vishnu. But sort of confused the wording...😊
