Yes, I think the reason is that the personalities of Ram and Krishna are very different, though both are incarnations of Lord Vishnu.
Shri Ram is an ocean of calmness and rectitude while Shri Krishna is mischevious and playful. I cannot see Gurmeet in the role of Shri Krishna for some reason.
I think he'd be better as Arjuna because Arjuna was a calm patient person like Ramji, and he was also a warrior, great with a bow and arrow. We have seen the warrior side of Gurmeet, and since he's good with working with a bow and arrow, it'd be relatively easy for him to act the role of Arjuna in a battlefield. Shri Krishna did not fight in the Kurukshetra War, so there'd be barely any chance for Gurmeet to act as a warrior, which I think he is best acting at.

Ah, now u r doing the mistake of casting him in the same/similar role, that is a calm guy who can use the bow and arrow. Gurmeet will be great as Krishna. Because of the different personalities between Ram and Krishna, Gurmeet's complete acting skills will be showcased. He will not be typecast as this calm guy with a bow and arrow. As Arjun he will be typecast as this calm guy who can use a bow and arrow.

To be honest, I want to see Gurmeet as Karna, a personality who has both good and bad in him and is a very complex character, or Shakuni (if he is willing to do the older role). Sanjeev Kumar, the yester year actor, used to do all roles. Only the make-up guys will have to do an excellent job in transforming him. Gurmeet is a really unique person with this really great talent, his acting skills. He can do any role because of his talent.

Actually I want to see a modern day version inspired by Mahabharat where the story is updated for modern times. So, instead of kingdoms we can have 2 multinational companies headed by 2 brothers and their children. Then it would be fun to see Gurmeet as Arjun becos he can do karate chops as in Mayavi. Only we will have to change Krishna into a good guy who is trying to mediate for everyone. Since it is only inspired by the Mahabharat we do not need anything Divine. That would be cool, IMHO!

But I hate Shakuni🤢, though I totally get your point. Gurmeet as Karna though....I never thought of it before...but that's actually a REALLY good idea!👏
Or Duryodhan?
How about Praful Pandey as Arjuna? Since he acted in a negative role in Ramayan, he can do a positive role in Mahabharat. All the "good guys" in the role of "bad guys" and all the "bad guys" in the role of "good guys".😆 Then KK Chachu will definitely have to be Bheema, or better yet, Ghatotkach!😛
And I love your idea of a Modern Day Mahabharat. That'd be really cool.😃
Isn't there a book like that called The Great Indian Novel? I think it's a fictional story based on Mahabharat.

Gurmeet would be great as Karna because Karna is not totally evil like Shakuni. At the same time he is not totally good either. He is one character in the Mahabharath who has many shades of gray. I think Gurmeet will bring out the shades of gray in Karna's character very well. I hope that Sagars are reading this. I am sure they will do a very good job in the modern day Mahabharat just as they did in Ramayan.

Speaking about "Modern day Mahabharata". I was collecting and researching epic-based fiction for years. I can share some facts...

Definitely; we'd love to hear what you've got to say.😛
A side question: How many of you read Palace of Illusions? I didn't like it at all.🤢 I felt it degraded the character of Draupadi, but what did you all think?

I have not read the book but I will read it now. I do not want the Sagars to follow all these books. I wish they would follow the original Mahabharat and modernize it. Lalitha, have you seen the movie Clueless? It is a modern remake of the 1815ish Jane Austen novel Emma. It was wonderfully remade in the modern form. They followed the book very closely but within the modern time frame and lifestyle. I wish the Sagars would do the same. Follow the Mahabharat very closely but modernize it.
