August6: story of mighty hanuman continue

Part2: the naughty child

Kid hanuman tries to catch a butterfly and in the way raises above the floor on air. Her mother is really happy about it.

The boy grows up to be an exceptionally naughty child. [Explains why we attach the adjective Hanuman to exceptionally naughty children]

He lifts a charpayee full of red chilies and throws it up, flies with it, and when all the chilies fall off, throws down the broken bed. This way he wastes food and scares all the ladies.

His friends want him to play with them and they r afraid. So he binds them up on his tail and flies with them till they r crying out of fear and begging him to release them.

Finally the ladies are so angry that they go to Anjana to complain about him. Hanuman is present with a sweet innocent face [the kid is really lovable]

So his mother drags him along and ties him to a pillar, with no food because he has been wasting food.

Now his friends call him to play and he prays to his mother to let him go. But she had enough of complaints from neighbors and their sons.

So she said sternly: you are not going anywhere, no food and keep standing here tied to the pillar, let me see how funny it is.

Watching over hanuman, she extracts butter out of milk and then after a while, puts some of it on a large earthen pot. Suddenly remembering some thing, she has to leave.

Our little hero, who was waiting fro this opportunity ever since she started with milk, gets a little provoked by his friends. He uses his shape shifting tail to grab that pot from far and empty its contents in his stomach.

All his friends ask for a share but he coolly haves them all and then neatly dries his face with the end of his tail.

His mother comes, and she is surprised to see all the butter vanished so soon.

She suspiciously looks at hanuman and he stares back innocently. Defeated, she leaves.

His friends: hanuman now is mother is gone, come join us.

Hanuman easily pulls of the ropes holding him and leaves.

when i saw anjana tying naughty hanuman it reminded me of how yashoda used to tie krishna

didnt knw the similarities before

i think it is essential to know hanuman story as he is one of the important characters

child is too cute btw
