i watched the episode...lakshmana took the backseat today ... since the exile is near the PH will emphasize on kakeyi manthara and dashratha i understand ...but if we could get lakshman urmila scene it would have been the treat to watch ...

the epi was awesome it concentrated on ram and bharat love and their bond it was great and lakshmana's question for lord rama was sweet... he want his upperhand on lord rama's love... his right on him...though i m little skeptical this happpened in ramcharitmanas...was lakshamanji possessive for lord rama????? was there a sort of competition between bharat and lakshmana for lord rama's love???? whatever i loved the answer tht lord rama gave love cant be measured it cant be defined...and the scene with leperous was heart touching dhashartha manthara and kakeyi stand out in the epi loved them all...now can we get urmila and lakshman moment in the next epi

p.s. did dhashratha made such promise to kakeyi's father ???? and if it so wasnt it unfair to make lord rama king????/

^ I don't think it's unfair of Dashrath to crown Shri Ram King, because the promise he made to King Ashvapati (which indeed did happen) was that Kaikeyi's son would be made King. He never specified whether it would be Kaikeyi's biological son or stepson. Only thing is that he should be Kaikeyi's son. Kaikeyi Maa always considered Shri Ram her son. She never distinguished between Ram and Bharat and considered them to have equal rights on her. This is what infuriated Manthara throughout Ram and Bharat's childhood.

So as long as Kaikeyi gave her blessings to Ram's coronation, then it could happen without breaking the promise to Ashvapathi. Another reason why Ram went on a 14 year vanvaas besides the death of Ravan is that he did not have Kaikeyi's blessings. In the previous Ramayan serial there is a scene where Ram shares his worries with Sita that he has not gotten Kaikeyi's blessings. He knew that without her blessings it would be unfair to ascend the throne.

After the vanvaas Kaikeyi gave her blessings to Ram so he ascended the throne. This way Shri Ram ensured that his father's promise to Kaikeyi's father was not broken.😊

to add to janaki's explanation one of the other reason as arti had sometimes mentioned before was the Dashratha promised to make kaikeyi's son the King..but like other queens she also dint conceive... and after yagna only they all had sons.

Yes,he made it...coz he had no issues from his previous Queens and they were not even likely to have...(may be age factor)...so he made a promise...if Kaikeyi had any then obviously they will be made the king...but the same continued...then they performed yaga...all were blessed and had issues😊

Here the situation diverged for him to decide...generally the eldest of all will be made the successor(tradition)...on the other hand the promise he gave...

well i dont really know tht lakshmanji was possessive or not but a person who sacrificed everything for his brother and cant take one word against his elder brother must be possessive as devotion is kind of possessiveness for god ( i really dont know not a religious person)...bharat and lakshmana dont know much about it ...i really dont think so lakshmana wanted upper hand on his love...and his relationship with bharatji isnt mentioned anywhere once in ramcharitmanas ramji rebuked lord lakshmana wen he spoke harsh words for bharat he said he knew since childhood he hold grudges against him...in 1986 ramayana ramji said to sitamaa in playful manner tht since childhood lakshmana is fightining with bharat sitaji smiled and replied yes they have competition for your sneh so maybe it happened maybe not...😳

king dashrath decided to marry kakeyi quite later leading a married life with kausalya ...dhashratha promised tht his and kakeyi son will become the king..since kausalya and dashrath didnt had any children he could safely give such promise to aswapati but then kakeyi too remained childless and then the four prince were born out of the yagna process since bharat wasnt naturally born child of kakeyi (technically dashratha wasnt father of all prince as they were born by consuming the kheer and remember dashratha promise was his and kakeyi's son😳 ) so dashratha was under no complusion to fullfill the promise hence the maryada wasnt broken and lord rama coronation was justified ...

^ Yes, since all queens conceived only after the yagna, it's debatable that the promise Dashrath made to Ashvapati would be valid, since the sons were born as per the yagna rites. They were not conceived naturally and even Kaikeyi was initially barren like the other queens. Since all four brothers were born around the same time the eldest of them has a right on the throne.

But some people argue that still Bharat has the right to the throne, and in such a debate I would say the same thing I wrote above. Ram was Kaikeyi's son just as much as he was Kaushalya's, and obviously the elder of Kaikeyi's sons would be made King.
