What was she thinking?

I was pretty amazed that Mrinmayi took Rahul's name in the traditional Marathi way. That ritual of taking your husband's name i.e. Ukhane, is a marathi custom (where wife takes husband's name in a couplet) which is only performed once you are proclaimed husband and wife..i.e. after the "pheras"..This girl happily took his name in that manner even before he zeroed on her😕

Is that a tradition 😲 😲 😲 Mujhe laga usne apni marzi se poetry likhi thi...Din't realise it was a tradition 😃

Nahi, it is actually a tradition but a very cute one...Shaadi ke baad jab you have your first meal together, you are required to take your hubby's name for the first and last time. Of course, thats an age old tradition kyunki pehle ke zamane mein women never used to take hubby's name. Of course, we dont follow it literally in this generation😆 There are various couplets you can sing which have to be 2 sentences which should rhyme and should include the hubby;s name😳

u mean the wife doesnt not take the hubby's last name?...thats quite a contemporary tradition...these days most girls like to keep their maiden names

Yea it's a tradition...ayee if i can only count the number of ukhanas i've had to take after my wedding...right after the pheras, then during the food, then at a pooja the next day, and a few other times, and they have to be all different poems, i had to memorize like 20 ukhanas for my wedding...😆....but it sure was fun...😳

Same here..I had memorized 2 and I was asked to take 20..my in laws are very pro at this and they just said and I repeated after them! It was so much fun😳
