@ arti and lats55,
Obviously I know that these are pics from a serial, but if you saw Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan, and heard the speech Ramanand Sagarji gave before and afterwards, he did a lot of research in Hindu scriptures, both with the dresscode, story, and settings, etc before he directed the serial. And yes, Hindu scriptures do give a description of the clothing women wore. Read Ayodhya Kand in Ramayana and Draupadi's Vastra Haran in Mahabharata. These women existed were much before any of the women the historians describe. For a woman to expose her body was thought of as one of the greatest of all sins.
Anyway, leaving religion out and bringing history in, the women these historians describe are from after the Mughal times. The Mughal women had a totally different dress code from the women who originally lived in India (or Hindustan/Aryavrat as it was called back then), and being the rulers' wives, their dressing style greatly impacted the ones of the common women.
If you research into the times before Mughal Era, during the Rajput Era, you will see that women were properly covered then. It is because of the influence of Mughal women and the British women that these different styles of dressing arose, but before that, looking primarily at the Rajput Era and before, women were dignified and modest in their dressing.
If you want to read further on the ancient clothing of women, go to this website. It's more trustworthy than wikipedia.

Anyway, it's a waste of time trying to argue our points here because none of us are going to change our minds. If you like Rakhi's clothing, then good for you, and if you don't, that's great.👍🏼 Either way, no one's going to change anyone's mind and as I have more important forums to spend my time on, I'm out of here.
Ciau!
