Obsession
Chapter 1
Zoya couldn't help but stare out the open window. A beautiful smile played on her lips as she watched the rain drops fall in pure amazement.
It was the first rain of the season, and she was absolutely loving it.
Her inner childlike thoughts hit her, and she suddenly felt like being outside, happily dancing in the rain.
The doorknob turned behind her, and Asad walked out of the bathroom.
He watched his Zoya, silently staring outside as a delicate smile covered her face.
He couldn't help but walk up to her, and wrap his arms around her waist before setting his chin down on her shoulder.
"It's the first rain of the season. Isn't it beautiful?", she asked excitedly.
"Very beautiful", he replied before he kissed her cheek. He was too distracted by his beautiful wife.
The romantic moment ended as Dilshad called them both.
"Asad, Zoya, come for breakfast!", she yelled from the stairs.
Asad sighed as Zoya smiled and grabbed his hand as she led him out of the room and to the dining table.
Zoya poured Asad's coffee as the room began to fill with laughter and conversation.
"Asad, don't you have a new client coming today?", Dilshad asked.
"Yes, he arrived yesterday, and I have a meeting with him in the afternoon. Hopefully everything goes well", he replied.
"Arrived? Where is he coming from?", Zoya asked curiously.
"The U.S, New York I think".
The conversation continued until Asad stood up to leave for office.
Asad bid his goodbyes but Zoya walked him to the door.
"Are you coming back for lunch?", she asked.
"I can't. I have to get ready for the meeting with that client." he said.
Zoya made a sad puppy dog face. Asad smiled and leaned in to kiss her cheek.
"I'll be back soon, okay?", he said.
He soon left and Zoya closed the door behind him.
She didn't like Asad leaving. She felt lonely without him.
And for some reason, she felt different today...
Why do I feel...strange? As if somethings going to happen...
Zoya quickly brushed her thoughts away. Nothing was going to happen.
She had all the happiness in the world now.
She was newly married, and she now had a true family. This was all she's ever wanted.
Why does he keep looking at her picture?
Asad felt extremely uncomfortable as he stole a few glances at his new client sitting in front of him.
Saif was staring as the picture Asad had of Zoya hanging on his office wall.
It started to make Asad angry, and he could not focus on the file he was trying to read.
He looked up from the file and addressed him with a hint of irritation on his voice.
"Mr. Abdullah?".
He quickly looked up at him.
"Here is the file", Asad said. He tried to hide his anger, but it was still there laced in his voice.
"Oh, thank you", he replied.
He noticed Asad's annoyance and spoke up.
"I'm sorry, it's just that I think I know your wife. Her name is Zoya, right?".
"How do you kn-".
"We went to university together. We were close friends.".
Asad couldn't help but feel embarrassed.
"Oh , no it's fine. I didn't know that you knew my wife".
He immediately reprimanded himself for being so judgemental towards him.
He was just staring at her because he knew her, he thought.
Asad stared at the clock.
It was getting late, but he still needed to explain the other set of blueprints to Saif.
He didn't want to come home late to Zoya, but he didn't want to hold the meeting for tomorrow.
Saif was a very important client, and he already seemed a bit angry. Asad didn't know why, but suspected it to be from the picture incident from earlier.
"Is it getting too late?", Saif asked Asad as he caught him staring at the clock for the third time. "We can continue tomorrow.", he said.
"No, It's fine really".
"it's okay. We can continue tomorrow", he said as he stood up.
"How about if you come over for dinner tonight? We can continue then. You could even meet my wife.".
Asad had no idea of what had just happened, but as soon as he spoke those words, Saif's face lit up in happiness.
"We can definitely do that", he spoke.
"But who is it?" Zoya whined for the tenth time.
She had been bahaving like this ever since Asad had told her that she knew his new client, and that he was coming over for dinner.
"I told you, It's a surprise", Asad said.
"But how am I supposed to be excited if I don't know who it is?".
"You'll just have to wait and find out".
"But that's not fair!".
Asad laughed at his wife's childlike behavior. He loved everything about Zoya. The way she got annoyed, or the way she got excited. She was utterly adorable in his eyes,
"You'll see who it is when he gets here, now go get ready. He'll be here soon".
Little did Asad know that this dinner was about to change everything.
Okay that's it for now! I hope you enjoyed chapter 1! If anyone wants a PM, please buddy me!!! Thanks for reading😊- Ria
