I may have exaggerated a bit in my last update, I'm all good guys! Was down but no depression! LOOL! Happy as ever! Anyhoo, part two to the three shot! This concept is not entirely my own, it is adapted from the many books I have read in the last month or so... with my own touch! I was itching to write this kinda storyline since last year. Hope you enjoy it!

TS: Taking a risk PART 2

My office, 9.30 am. Bring your notes on Blast.

Zoya closed her eyes humming baa baa black sheep. She let go of the breath she didn't realise she was holding as soon as she heard the ping and the elevator doors opened. Her eyes scanned the empty floor, she liked this. She liked peace and quiet. This will give her the time to gather her courage to face her boss. Her boss's boss. She dropped her gym bag into her cubicle and squeaked hearing a deep husky voice behind her. Real elegant Zoya.

"Are you a before or after work kind of girl?" Zoya turned around slowly and met Asad's eyes as he leaned against her cubicle.

"Excuse me?" She blinked, Asad's eyes lingered where her hand rested above her chest. She felt her throat go dry.

"The bag, workout?"

"Oh yeah" Her cheeks reddened with embarrassment, so not what she was thinking. "I take kickboxing few days a week at my gym for self-defence and whatnot. More for mama's satisfaction."

"Kickboxing eh? Unexpected." He raised his eyebrow, somewhat impressed.

"Not a yoga kinda girl" She grinned. She remembered Nikhat trying to force her to go yoga with her, safe to say that her constant giggling meant that she didn't get an invitation to return to rest of the classes. "You don't know me very well." Well, was she expecting him to? He inched closer to her; her breathing went erratic.

"I know that you're from Alabama, and moved to New York to prove a point to yourself more than anyone else. I know that you topped all your classes, received 4 amazing offers from top advertising companies..." This time he took a step closer. "And I know that the girl from Saturday night who told me all of this. Who for the very first time in her life relaxed a little. You feel that girl is not you, but I know that girl is in there somewhere, and Zoya. It's okay to let go once in a while." He held her gaze, Zoya stared wide eyed. He took a step back clearing his throat and nodded towards his office. "Ready whenever you are."

Zoya collapsed against her chair as soon as he was out of sight. Her head dipped down and every fibre of her being wanted to run into his office and beg for him to take off from where they left off. She had never had so much of an immediate attraction to a man before. She had to keep reminding herself that he was her boss, but it only made him sound hotter in her mind. She was screwed. Right, never ever drinking again. She scoffed at the thought. Fat chance.
She gave herself a few minutes to control her thoughts and herself. She needs to focus on her job. She finished a few non important tasks while she brought that control back and jumped towards his office ready for work. This attraction towards him is nothing, her hard work to get this job was far more important. She closed her eyes remembering her mother's face, how disappointed she was finding out that she wanted to leave that life behind in Alabama and how she longed for her to be proud of her. How she longed for her to be happy that she had finally made a decision for herself just like the way her father encouraged her. But all she saw was sadness etched on her face every time she looked in her direction. She absentmindedly brushed out her skirt and snapped her eyes open.

She knocked lightly on his door. "Asad?"

"Come in" His voice was low making her insides twist and curl. Get a grip Zoya. She took her seat watching him lean against his chair, his hair styled back. He had rolled his sleeves to his elbows showing off his forearms. Forearms that cradled her close just days before.

For f**k's sake, stop it Zoya.

"Deep thought?" His lips quirked up instantly, causing her cheeks to burst into flames.

"Just wondering why you wanted to see me this morning" She forced a smile.

"I thought that was obvious." He leaned forward. Why did he have to say things like that? His words, his tone, his expression, everything about him said something more. Because it's Asad saying those things. From a normal person, it would mean something else. Something that would not make her cheeks go red.

"Nope." She shook her head trying not to let her voice waver.

"Did you bring your notes for Blast?" He asked her. She nodded and passed him her phone; their fingers touched sending a bolt of electricity through her soul. She moved her hand to her lap. She made all her notes on her phone and always kept it close to her just in case she gets any last minute ideas.
"Password?" He was about to pass it back to her.

"7868" She blurted out. He raised his eyebrow. "My father's birthday." Wait, she passed her phone to him. And then told him the password. Was that normal? A person's phone is a sacred thing. Yet she passed it him without hesitation. She met his eyes, but tried not to read too much.

"Right..." He went over the notes, "We have a team coming in this afternoon for Blast and I want you take your ideas to the creative team to create a few mock ups. I have something to show you." Zoya watched him turn his laptop.

"Is that the kind of thing you're looking for?" She pointed trying not to screw up her face at the horrible ad. She didn't want to insult his passion for his work, maybe he saw something in the ad that she hasn't.

"You're kidding me right?" Asad burst out laughing. "This shit is making me want to send Zack home for the day. You tell him that I am going to fire his ass if he comes back to me with this shit again."

"I am not telling him that. I don't even know him. You do it."

"You do realize you work for me right Zoya?" Damn her name on his lips sounded sexy. His lips twitched.

"Technically I work for Sarah."

"Who works for me." He cocked his head daring her to argue back. He was her boss for goodness sake. Why on earth was she even answering back to him.

"Fine I'm going. The firing bit is on you though." She paused, "Sir" She started for the door, is it weird that she can feel him smiling behind her sending her body to ignite with fire?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I am not ready for this Sarah" She followed behind Sarah sulking into the conference room. "The guy's haven't finished the mocks up yet."

"Don't worry. Asad is leading the meeting. His middle name should be bullshit, wait it's Ahmed, but you get what I mean. He'll wow them. Then he'll tell us off and then make us work our asses off until we have a solid idea. Job done."

"Wow. Great" She followed Sarah into the room. She had her confidence in Asad, he was the bomb. His expertise always left her in awe.

"Hey, the name is James" One of the two guys stood up and put his hand forward. Shit, the guy from the elevator who heard her singing when she went down to grab a coffee.

"Zoya" She shook his hand before greeting the older gentleman beside him, who she assumed was his father. "We're excited to handle your campaign" She gave them a gentle smile sitting down opposite James who was smirking trying not to laugh at her. Asad came through the door with Stephan and Jamie following behind him.

"Gentleman" Asad held out his hands, his eyes landed on each person in the room. An act to simply show his respect before he took his seat. She loved that about him. Zoya glanced up to find James staring at her. He flashed a smile and mouthed something to her. Asad stopped talking and peered down at her. "Zoya, anything you want to add?"

"Erm, no not at all" She looked down at her lap. Asad continued speaking before pointing at the screen, she looked up and found one of her ideas on the screen. His intense gaze was on her waiting for her reaction, he smiled knowingly when her hands flew over her mouth. One of the mocks ups seemed like his, which was done last minute, another by Jamie and the third one was hers. They didn't have a fourth one due to the time limit. Jamie and his father stood up at the end of the meeting. Just as they were about to leave, James turned around,

"So very nice to meet you Zoya" He grinned.

"Likewise" She smiled back. As soon as they left, Zoya started tidying up the sheets on the table. Everyone had left. She spun around feeling someone's intense gaze on her, she found Asad standing a few metres away, watching her, his hands in his pocket. "Hey, I thought everyone had gone."

"Did you know him?"

"Who?"

"James"

"I met him in the lift when I was coming up. Why?" She felt awkward. Why was he sounding like a jealous boyfriend? His mouth opened and then closed again. He ran his fingers through his hair.

"They liked your idea. Good work." He smiled. She smiled back, hearing his praise made her feel an unusual joy. He knew his work very well and such praise from him meant something.

"They liked your idea too."

"Nah, mine was just there for the sake of it. It was last minute. It's yours that has the real potential." He held her eyes for a moment, his lips parted but then closed again before walking out of the room.

She breathed into her hands, the UT guy and her boss. They were the same person. There was nothing she could do about it. She needed to stop her thoughts, her heart wasn't supposed to open up to him like that. Even if he wasn't her boss, they wouldn't work. He doesn't date and she doesn't do the casual thing.

They would never work.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zoya threw the gym bag over her shoulder and made her way towards the lifts. She froze coming in front of Asad's office, having avoided him all afternoon. She found him staring above his door in deep thought, his arms crossed, not moving at all. As if he could feel her stare, he turned slightly and their eyes locked momentarily. Asad started for his door before she could run away from the spot she was standing in, she looked down at her traitorous feet that were not cooperating with her brain.

"Kickboxing?"

"Yup, heading there now." She took a step back. He glanced out of the windows.

"Is it close by?"

"No but it isn't a bad walk" She replied almost half turning her body. He considered her and then glanced out of the windows again.

"The thought of you walking this late at night doesn't settle well with me."

"It's okay, it's New York." The sentiment was sweet. No Zoya, no more thinking.

"We have a small gym downstairs. I could spar with you. There are gloves and punching bag and everything else you might need." He bit his lips, Zoya could tell he was struggling with his thoughts. This was a bad idea. Even worse that she was actually considering it. "You can leave your things in the office while you change. I'll meet you in the gym." He took a step towards her and reached for her laptop bag and handbag.

"Asad..." She whispered but the words were not coming out. She took a deep breath and sighed. "I'll see you in a few" She dragged herself towards the ladies room and changed into her workout clothes - a fitted white tank and black yoga pants. She swept her long brunette hair into a pony tail and glanced at her reflection. Her outfit was appropriate for gym but with Asad, it seemed highly inappropriate as she watched the outfit hug her every curve.

She pushed through the door at the end of the hall and flicked on the light, exposing the company gym. She walked over to the mats and began to stretch when the gym door opened and Asad walked in dressed in loose grey gym shorts that hung low on his hips and a white T-shirt that showed off his every taut curve and the drop of his chest and arms. Eurgh, it should be illegal for a boss to be this hot. Asad lowered his head walking towards her, but even his walk was sexy. Slow, methodical. Every step so damn controlled. She doesn't stand a chance during this workout.

"Did you find everything you needed?" He avoided looking directly at her, feeling as affected as her.

"This place is great" She took a step towards him, his eyes roamed her body before sweeping back to her eyes, his expression was full of agony. He cleared his throat and stepped back.

"So where should we begin?" His eyes darted away from hers.

"Warm up?" Zoya walked towards the middle of the room and started stretching as he watched her, her legs opened wide. "Do you work out here often?" She asked him.

"Huh?" His eyes remained locked on her legs.

"Do you work out here often?"

"Most nights." He replied shaking off his thoughts. She stood up and stretched her arms out before bending forward to touch her toes. He wasn't stretching, he was watching her and the look in his eyes was doing something to her body and mind. In that small moment, she wished hard he was anyone but her boss.

"Are you ready?" He asked her. He walked over to grab two gloves and then stood in front of her. Her skin tingled to his proximity, her attraction towards her hot boss was one thing, but this thing here, for her was torture. She slipped her gloves on and backed up eager to put some distance between them. "You okay? Don't worry, I'll go easy on you" And with that her competitive side kicked in and agitation to wipe that smirk off his face took over her mind.

"Yeah, let's get started." She lunged forward and began moving but with each punch he was there, blocking her. "You fight?"

"Used to. Not anymore."

"Oooh I sense a story there" She threw punches but he did not let her throw a single one. Damn man, give a girl her ego boost.

"Used to compete, black belt in karate." He shrugged.

"So is karate like your thing?"

"My thing?" He blocked all her punches and enjoying watching her go breathless. There were a lot of other things in his mind that could make her go breathless.

"Hobby, interests... you know" She threw a few more punches landing only a few.

"Not now, there was a phase when I was but I don't have the time anymore. My interests have changed." His eyes gleamed with mischievousness.

"Yet you refused to date. What is all that about?" Why was she so hell bent on getting to know him? She hated how easily conversations flowed with Asad. But a part of her enjoyed it.

"Ahhh question of questions." She paused and shrugged her shoulders.

"You don't have to answer it."

"Ahhh" He took a moment to answer, he removed his gloves and walked over towards the refrigerator and pulled out two bottles before throwing one at her. She caught it and took a few gulps. "Let's just say I don't want to become like my father. No dating, no risk of marrying, no kids and turning out like him. No leaving kids behind." She looked into his eyes and saw something that made her heart ache. He seemed sad.

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have asked."

"Ah, it's okay. I don't know why, with you, I reveal too much." His eyes locked with hers and the air sparked. "Where do you stand with this relationship thing? You date? Have coffee with strange men who offer?" He winked. She took a gulp of her water, stalling like he did.

"I only date." She pointed at him and then herself, "No casual for me. Our thing, that was a first for me." She went silent.

"Why?" He took a step towards her,

"Because I've seen what it's like to live a full life of love. My parents loved and respected each other. And then after baba died, my mama met Henry, and somehow, I was lucky enough to see love in my house for the second time. That kind of love impacts you. You don't want less than the real thing that you have seen first-hand."

"I guess that is the problem, I have never seen it." Her gaze locked with his, her heart beating frantically inside of her.

"Sorry about how I reacted in the morning. For kicking you out and then saying you were a 29 year old jobless guy."

"You didn't say I was a 29 year old jobless guy" The corners of his mouth twitched.

"Oh, I must have thought it" She nodded.

He grinned widely before the emotions in his eyes switched. "I had a great time with you. If I did the dating thing, I would have wanted to date you." He whispered, his eyes darkened. Oh shit, he can't say stuff like that thought Zoya and not have her thinking what ifs. Be a jerk, her mind commanded but her eyes landed on his lips. He inched closer towards her; she could feel his warm breath over her lips.
"Goodnight Zoya." He stepped back, his expression pained. She shook herself and gulped. She watched his sexy ass walk out of the gym. She was doomed.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Asad and Zoya fell into a pattern after the night at the gym, awkward hello and byes exchanged whenever they crossed paths. This was how it should be, this was how professional they should behave. But why did she feel her heart beat frantically inside of her and her mind telling her to jump him while he showed her the mock up for their campaign?

"Zoya, what do you think?" His voice snapped her out of her thoughts. She adjusted herself in her seat.

"Well, it looks good, but something is missing..." She started.

"You're right. It's close, but we need it to be perfect." He focused on the screen and then looked back at her. He opened his mouth to speak but then shut it again.

"What?"

"Nothing, you. Nothing" He shook his head. Zoya took a deep breath.

"Listen" She leaned forward knowing she needed to have this conversation. They were working together in the same office, that night needed to be put behind them. "Look, so we had sex. It doesn't have to be a thing. It's nothing, No big deal."

Asad raised his eyebrow, a slow grin spread across his face.

"Actually I was going to tell you, you had mustard on your cheek right there" He pointed to her right cheek. Zoya felt faint as her whole body burned with embarrassment. She jumped up and took a step back wiping her right cheek furiously.

"Oh thanks" She looked at her hand but nothing was there. The corner of her eyes followed his movement as he got up and walked towards her. She held her breath feeling his thumb brush her cheek before lifting it to his mouth and licking the mustard off. Her heart burst into flames watching him, her knees wavered threatening to drop her to the ground. He held her eyes.

"It is a big deal. To me, it is all I can think about." He whispered into her ears, he was so close she could feel his warm breath on her neck sending tingles shooting up her spine. She jumped back hearing a knock on his door.

"Thanks Asad, I'll get back to you with this" She flapped her notebook and rushed past his PA. She fell against her chair and leaned her forehead against her desk. No no, this is all wrong. He cannot say that to her. Rules are rules. Asad didn't date. Even if the company rule wasn't there, she wanted a family, a guy who adored his parents and wanted kids of his own. Asad was not her dream guy. Then why was she trying to fix the UT guy in her dreams, why was she listing the attributes that matched her dream guy to UT guy? Asad was not her guy. With that in mind, she threw herself into her work. Once she wrapped up all the work, she rushed out of her cubicle finding the office empty and entered the lift.

Itsy bitsy spider went up the water sprout, down came the rain...

The doors closed and she started singing the words louder in her mind. She was so focused she didn't realise Asad slip inside. She looked up and that's when she realised that the doors hadn't closed yet. But as soon as it started closing, the tiny space between them became smaller and unbearable. Her back stiffened as her body heated up. He turned around to face the doors and stand beside her, his shoulders inches away from her.

"Zoya." He said softly. Damn, his name on his lips always sounded so sexy.

She couldn't focus on Asad when she realised she stopped singing, her gaze dropped to the floor.

"Are you okay?"

"Ofcourse." Out came the sun, and dried up all the rain.

"Zoya, look at me."

She peered over at him when the elevator jerked and came to a halt. She looked up at the ceiling, she was starting to panic. Shit shit. Her eyes began to burn and she bit down on her lower lip. Asad furiously pressed the buttons before reaching down for the emergency button.

"Zoya, it's okay. You know that right?"

She didn't look at him, she couldn't. If the lights went off, she would not survive this. Her heartbeats raced dangerously inside of her. Asad removed his phone and called someone before realising he wasn't getting service. He used the emergency phone and spoke to someone. Her eyes went over the small box realising how little oxygen there was in there. Her back hit the corner of the lifts, her hand spread against the walls. Her eyes turned wide as panic coursed through every muscle in her body. Asad was now standing in front of her.

"Zoya, look at me." Swallowing hard, she looked in to his soft eyes, tears trailed down her cheeks. "Claustrophobic?" She nodded back to him, her lips quivered. "Should I move back and give you space?" He asked her. She drew a breath; her hands flew to his chest and fisted his shirt in both of her hands. Asad watched her trying to give her the every bit of comfort she needed.

"Just talk to me Asad" She whispered before she gave in and slumped onto the floor. He followed her onto the ground before slowly lifting her onto his lap while she took deep breaths on his chest; her eyes closed fearing to look anywhere. One of his hand remained by his side while the other drew circles on her back.

"When I was a child..." Asad began sharing one of his favourite stories including his mother when he was a child after his father left them both. They stuck together, fought through poverty and brought happiness to their own lives. He loved his mother. After a few moments, he paused and looked down at her face. His lips grazed her cheek softly; he felt her shiver in his arms. "How are you feeling?"

"I like it when you talk. It helps" She whispered still refusing to open her eyes despite her cheek reddening to her admission.

"I like it when you talk too. I could listen to your voice all day and never grow tired of it. Never heard a woman so soft and so fierce all in one breath." He whispered softly, almost as if he hadn't said it but she heard him. Her heart warmed to his words, how easily he admitted it.

"What did you mean by what you said in your office?" She slowly opened her eyes and looked up at his jaw. This time she felt him shiver from her warm breath. He looked into her eyes.

"I want you. Every time you speak, I want you more." Her body went numb. Out of all the things he could have said, she definitely wasn't expecting him to say that. She clutched his shirt tightly before the elevator jerked again and moved down. The doors opened to reveal a few technicians and a few fire fighters.

"Everyone okay?"

Asad helped Zoya up and nodded before thanking them. Then, Zoya rushed for the front door as if her life depended on it. She closed her eyes and cried out loud for air. She drew a long breath thanking the Lord above for air. She heard someone chuckling behind her.

"I knew it wasn't long." She turned around.

"Sorry, it's like you just won a million dollars." He smiled.

"I did in oxygen. But this oxygen lottery is priceless."

"Do you want me to grab you a cab?"

"Another small space. No thank you." She pointed to her feet, "I am walking."

"I'm walking with you." He said in a tone that left no room for debate.

"No I"

"I'm walking with you."

"Fine." They both started walking side by side. Zoya grinned as she took in her surroundings.

"Why do you look so happy?"

"I love the city at this time of the year. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. The city looks absolutely beautiful. Baba used to take us everywhere but since he died, mama hated going on aeroplanes. Henry still tried to take us to places but furthest we have ended up is to a lake. This, this is beautiful."

"Is that why you moved here? To escape that life?"

"I don't think I moved here to escape my small town life. But to prove that I could do it. I wasn't a small town girl afraid of the city. Mama cried when I was accepted to NYU, I thought they were happy tears but she was disappointed. She was sad for me. This has to be the most disappointing thing I have done, moving here." She sighed. "How do you do that?"

"What?"

"Get me to tell you the things that I cannot even admit to myself." She laughed. His tilted head and penetrating gaze awakened all sorts of raw desires within her. Her body reacted in an unfamiliar way.

"I could ask you the same thing." They both stared at one another, losing themselves momentarily. She tried to turn away but she couldn't. He stepped closer towards her, both of their breathing mingled together. She watched his eyes darken with lust, want and hunger. She inched her body closer to his, they were almost touching. Zoya nibbled her bottom lip, his gaze moved from her eyes to her lips. The hesitation she saw a second ago in his eyes disappeared and he dipped his head down taking her lips with his. One hand went around her head while the other pressed against the small of her back securing her to him. Her fingers threaded into his air causing him to moan into her mouth. Her lips were soft and willing, melting against his. He pulled her tighter to him and kissed her again, slowly running his tongue across her lips savouring her sweet flavour. He felt her tentative grip on his biceps and nearly came apart as her hands made their way around his waist and up his back. "Tell me you don't want this Zoya" He spoke against her lips not wanting to pull away.

"I can't" She mumbled in between kisses.

"I was afraid you were going to say that." He groaned taking her lips again and devouring them. This was wrong but he wanted this as much as she did. Whatever at the office he will handle, but right this moment, everything felt so right with her. He didn't date and she only dated, but he will persuade her to do casual with him. He wanted her so damn much that he will convince her to meet him in the middle. A relationship with no expectations and they both get whatever they want from each other. Simple.

If only it was that simple.
