CHAPTER 19 heartbroken zoya and asad

ZOYA

Zoya sat hunched up in a corner of her room, bracing herself. She cried, she screamed, she shouted for all she can, until she wore out and backed away into the dark world she'd formed for herself. In that world, only two resided, one of them were her and the other was darkness. If anybody saw her now, they wouldn't believe that she was the same girl who used to make people always laugh their heart out. For her face displayed no emotions, just like a rag doll being dragged across the floor. If only anyone could see through those layered eyes of hers, which displayed a myriad of emotions.

One moment, she felt like breaking down and crying until there was nothing left in her, until she was just a corpse which once held the soul of a broken woman, while the next second she wanted to scream and yell until she hated him to an extent, that could make her want to kill him, but no. How could she hate him? The very man who she loved, even God couldn't make her hate him, she loved him that much. She fell down to her knees and sobbed.Once again, as always her mind managed to dominate the screams of the agonized heart, leaving behind the same shattered girl.

ASAD

Asad's fists met with a wall, once again and for the uncountable time. His eyes were bloodshot, he collapsed on his bed, as his fists made contact with the hard surface of the wall, he screamed out in frustration, as tears slid down his cheeks. His heart had shattered the very second the bitter revelation of Zoya's true nature had been thrown at him. Tanveer had gave him the pictures saying that zoya was playing games with them. But he never believed. He loved her and trust her blindly, how can she be a betrayer...but it was all true...a live in boyfriend and she had the audacity to bring him there...what more games was she planning. And he made love to her on that bed ..."AAARRRGGG" His heart filled with a stabbing pain, every time he reminisced their sweet, love filled past. He'd thought that those hard core walls that he'd built around his heart, had finally been broken down, but they'd enclosed his heart. He sat up on his bed and sobbed, his head in his hands. His agonized heart was screaming in pain, Asad held his head in his hands and cried.

The wounded lion did no more know how he will continue to exist...

Zoya's apartment

one week after

She turned her head and faced the slowly setting sun. She chuckled to herself, as she realized how similar her life was to a sunset. She watched the sun disappearing below the horizon, allowing the rays of darkness to fill the sky, with a few stars twinkling far away. Her life was the same, there was no light left in her, her life was dark and empty, her emotions overwhelmed her as she broke down again.

She kept a hand over her mouth, to stop herself from screaming yet again. She ran out of her small dark room. She needed some fresh air. She opened the door and walked out. There was ayaan and humi. She threw herself in their arms, a lone tear making its way down her cheek. She buried her face in humi and cried. "Why did he do this to me?", she asked her head still buried and muffled. "was I really that bad for him? Why did he make me see dreams, when he had to break it all... humi i can't live without him...ayaan bring him back please..." ayan and humi cried over their best friend's fate and broken heart...they calmed her and made her lie down ... ayaan sang a lullaby api used to sing to them in childhood and slowly zoya drifted to sleep. Humi looked at him and caressed his hands...she narrated the whole asad's story to ayaan. He started seeing red...how dare he? on no one has allowed a single tear flow from zoya's eyes and today she is drowned in tears..."i will kill him...do you know who he is?"

"no, zoe was supposed to bring him home that day"

"we need to tell api"

Zoya jumped into her bed, exhausted and torn from the long sleep but she could only hear asad's venomous words in her nightmares and the dry tears continued to flow . Yet again, she found herself drowning in a pool of despair and before she knew it she was crying again. Why did he have to come in her life and destroy it forever?

"zoya ...i told api everything, she wants you back home...no arguments i have your ticket for tomorrow...i will accompany you" ayan said in a no-nonsensical voice.

She badly wanted to be back at home. Home. yes she needed to be away from this city..it reminded her too much of...him

"ok i will go... but alone"

"zoya..no"

"ayaan please am not a kid anymore i guess...please you need to stay here for humi and your job...i will be ok i promise"

and the trio hugged in sadness and despair for each other
