Maybe i should wait a bit longer before saying this, but what the hell.
When KV left and some people started questioning why SJ is staying, we all said how she has great scope to work with and it's great for her as she gets to play a different character, etc etc.
But actually how it's happened after he's come back is that KV has gotten the chance to display his worth as male lead and show variety a range.
First we have after he came back, and till Dharamsala, all his scenes with Chudail and at IM.
After that we have Dharamsala. Even after that, though he was not allowed to react with Shaad, till about last week he was shown with great focus and he got to portray different shades. Sure he cried a lot, but in between we saw the silent way he held his own during the Roka track till Jungle track. He really put some kind of nuance where you really get this mature, meloncholic feel from him. You see it most in the Mat Ja scene and the Bench scene where Shaad comes in. Also somewhat in the Nazia scene where he tends to her foot.
Then came the jungle track where he got to showcase his comedic talent.
Then his dramatic and romantic with the hut scene bus sequence.
Then again scope with Chudail where he shows the more cocky and playful side with Afshaq Miyyan
After that I guess it's been repetitive again except for last Thursday's Dilbar Mere and him beating up that guy. And actually within that week he had less screenspace overall than previously if I am not mistaken.
I haven't watched this week. I wasn't going to, but maybe I will because I am a little interested to watch Saif and SK as a duo. And his scenes with Chudail later this week seem interesting where he's trying to break through the invisible barrier.
But I'm guessing again it showcased more of his scope.
In Season two, his characterization was much better and he had a great character. But he hardly the opportunity to display his scope and range as much as he did with Season Three.
in fact, till around the time of the Jungle track, there was a certain actor and role I would've never thought KV could have ever come close to had he taken up something like that. It's not the acting, but the way the actor brought this certain panache into it. But somewhere around the Jungle track I realized he could do something like that well.
So overall, KV actually benefited from this.
If this goes to the 7:30 slot and dies a slow death however, it is moot.
