With the indistinguishable chatter of guests on full volume and star-like sparkling lights blinking occasionally all around the otherwise darkened space, a dark form fumbled on stage for her mic. A loud boom and static buzz resounded through the surround-sound speakers, causing every guest to cover their ears and wince.
Spotlights went on, focusing on the oblivious host playing with her mic. Then the rest of the stage lit up displaying the marvelous moon and star themed venue.
[Tap, Tap, Tap]
Edna: Check. [Tap] Mic testing. Check, Check!
[Baki joins on stage]
Baki: Jeez, Edna! It's working! Don't blow our eardrums out before we even get the party started!
Edna: Oops. Okay. Uh, Ladies and Gentleman...oh and the little people! Can't forget the kiddos running around now, can we?
Baki: Edna. Focus.
Edna: Right! Ladies and Gentlemen and kiddos! Can we have your attention please?
Dead silence fills the air.
Baki: I think you got their attention when you tried to destroy their eardrums.
Edna: Shh! I'm trying to say welcome.
Baki: So say it then.
Edna: [clears throat] We feel very privileged to have you all join us for this celestial celebration. A party amongst Stars!
Baki: And we mean that literally [Smiles knowingly]
Edna: Yes, we'll definitely be taking you right amongst the stars. But before we start shooting off after stars, how about we take a moment to enjoy the glow of the moon? Let's tell everyone why they've been invited to a party on the moon.
Baki: [Makes a face] Well, we're not really on the moon, you know. It's just a set up...
Edna: Jeez Baki, why don't you just go around and pop all the balloons too!
Edna: (turning her attention back to the guests) Ignore her. I'll tell you all about it myself.
Baki: Uh, no you won't. I'm here as your co-host. Means I share the spotlight.
[A small figure looms up behind the hosts]
Mystery Person: Actually, the spotlight is mine.
[Baki and Edna turn around and stare in surprise]
Baki: What are you doing here?!
Edna: We...you...this is supposed to be your birthday surprise, Ramya!
Ramya: Uh, I know. I figured it out when I got here and you assigned a shadow to keep me in the dark. Seriously? It was like a challenge waiting to be taken. Just couldn't resist seeing for myself what all this was about...and well wow. I'm speechless! This amazing and all for me!!!
Baki: Well, as you can see this whole thing is for this playful mischievous little girl beside me. A girl who has a dream to go to the moon.
Ramya: I'm here!!! Wow!!
Edna: Since it was a wish of hers, we decided we'd take her to the moon and throw her a magnificent party for her birthday!
Ramya: It's fabulous. Seriously? It's on the moOon!!! Look at those sparkling starlights and the moon looking upon the celestial bodies. So elaborate, so mesmerizing!
Baki: She said what I was supposed to say.
Edna: Well, maybe she doesn't know about the po-
Ramya: Pool!!! I saw that too. Guys, this is amazing. That pool with the lighting and effects gives the impression of a Galaxy. A Galaxy in which I can jump and swim as I please!!
Baki: Maybe, I should just resign as host?
Ramya: This is so exciting! Thank you guys...I'm gonna go jump in my Galaxy.
Edna: What? Wait...what about the rest...
Ramya: There's more? What more could there possibly be?
Baki: Looks like my job's safe!
Edna: If I may continue...
Ramya: Please!
Edna: With all the light the moon shines, we're here to celebrate this event with fun and love. And what good is a birthday bash if we can't make our special girl be star-struck?
Ramya: I am already star-struck!
Baki: We're talking about a different kind of Star-struck. The usual kind...
Ramya: Huh?
Edna: Good, something is still left a surprise. Why don't we just let the Stars guide us through our celestial night of fun?
Ramya: What stars do I follow?
Edna: Ramya, just sit back, relax, enjoy and let us do our jobs!
