Actualy liked the episode yesterday.

Nayi Sanam's possessiveness of Aahilji and Shaad's tadap for the girl he swore to protect. He had to save her, considering it was his idea to make up a fake story and land her up in trouble. Did he forget there was one terrorist out there loose who had already made an attempt to get near him? And he decided to let Sanam go with him, without the protective gear...Bad move, Major Shaad!😛

But...

The Triangle!

I have made up my mind about Shaad. There are two men vying for a girl- one gets the girl, the other gets my sympathy. I will look away from the rights and wrongs of what Shaad did, because for once after his introduction I felt his scene was written and done well. Sanam looked so pretty...It ached not to see her Jallad Jinn next to her.

This is how I made peace. Imagine there are two boys and a girl who are thick friends. Both the guys fall for the girl, but the girl falls for obviously... for one... They go out on dates and connect emotionally at a level the third guy cannot even imagine. He stays on loving the girl all his life, even when she marries her sweetheart. Does he deserve my sympathy? I suppose yes, for wasting his life. Is he right? It is up to him to decide whom to love. If he is happy being a devdas all his life, let him be. It is his life. He is responsible for the choices he makes.(It is not a choice I'd make...I'd be fair to myself as well as the two friends I bless together.)

With this analysis of Shaad when I sat down and watched the episode, I was just happy he was there to protect Sanam even if he had inadvertently landed her there. SJ looked very very pretty...and Varun acted well. I hope this level of execution (disregarding the plastic snake that kissed Sanam) continues...though I keep my hopes low.

And the precap: Hamara Rishta bhale hi jhootha hai, lekin mera pyar sachha hai.

Mera Pyar...Yes, Major Shaad. Jhooth and Sach. Now you have made a clear distinction and defined your feelings. Let us see what it makes you do.

.

Now!

NOW!

REALITY!

Har guzarte pal ke saath mera Sanam mujhse door chala jaa reha hai.💔

Yes, Aahil. She is going away...making new memories...probably shutting the doors to a past that keeps evading her. It is confusing and exasperating her...So she'd rather live with the happy memories an empty new life promises her?...

EMPTY...because she herself feels the junoon missing...

And I ask myself one question.

IS IT GOING TO BE EASY?

DO I EXPECT ARI TO WALK IN AND CLAIM HIS LOVE?

Nope.

I suppose Sanam has to learn what Junoon meant to her.

And for that she'd need to compare.

It is not about what Shaad feels for her or she wants to feel for him...

It is about what an impossible guy meant to her, and she to him.

If she needs new memories and new experiences to jerk her back to reality, let it be.

Let her know how each touch, each glance, each hug is different...It is not going to be pleasant to watch...

But I am really dying to know how they will take this forwardđŸ€“...I hope the execution doesn't fall flat!đŸ€”

Except Shaad's situation is not the same as the guy silently in love with his friend.

Anyway, I don't even care about Shaad. Just give me Aahil, and SaHil.

Just don't shove Shaad in my face; and they can keep me happy with the screen space Aahil deserves and SaHil. Oh, Khala, Khala, Lateef too, and Shazia as well.

Oh, I want Aahil to sock Shaad too. They can call truce after that and try to do what's best for Sanam or "Jannat." But one good punch I want. Shaad, after all, being such a stand-up guy, should be more than understanding and accepting of the well-deserved punch.

Res ...
I'll be back soup! !

Fabulous thought provoking read!

Unres...

Sorry this took so long !

I can get where you are coming from Soup...

I have had quite a struggle to keep an impartial stand point with the Pakistan track.
I wanted to give it a chance because I truly believe it was meant to go somewhere else and hasn't come across very clearly.

Shaad was introduced as a no-nonsense army guy, obsessed with this international (😆, in hindsight) criminal called Shashi Kapoor. He had a poetic soul, was trapped in a troubled, and serious soliloquy.

He lost his good friend soon after entering and that lent a desperate, vengeful edge. Then he accidentally stands in between a lost, wandering girl and an angry hateful mob. In desperation, he uses a lie to convince the mob to leave her alone.

"She is my wife. Jannat hai yeh..."

That was the lie that started and will be the ending of this relationship.

He did take her to a safe place, and then made to leave. But she followed him. Because he said, she was his wife. That was the time to set the record straight. But he didn't. Why? We'll never know.

Then she revealed she had seen SK and he needed her testimony as evidence. He stupidly thought, that by preventing her from remembering her own memories, she will forget what SK looked like.

Fine. She came back to his house and created pandemonium by stopping his marriage to Misbah and put up a half baked melodrama to castigate him for it. he should have told her they weren't married right then!

Next lie: Married in secret, Both families don't know of their relationship. He lies to his family too, totally unnecessary. Such dishonesty may be expected in undercover spy work, but not with your own family !

To me, that was quite sneaky. That was intended to prevent her from seeking truth from either his side and hers (whom he didn't know anyway).

He forgot about her well being until she helped him through his troubles and mentioned the name Aahil.

He could have told her then. But no.

See, he had ample opportunities to tell her the truth. She wasn't sickly, or in any trauma. She was even beseeching him for some background story to their lives. He simply witheld it.

He watched her try her best to be his wife. Finding her cute and endearing, he is guilty of deceiving her. If she knew he wasn't her husband, she wouldn't be putting herself all out like that.

I wished they had established a soulful friendship , deep conversations where Sanam/Jannat got to talk and confide and have him be a calming and patient influence. He could still be very protective and slowly be drawn to her ways , as she continues to be innocently beguiling.

He would have come out more interesting as a man who knew he had no right to love her, tried hard to maintain distance but couldn't stop himself from falling in love. Without the fake marriage.

Varun is trying hard, but I feel the writing has failed him. They are rushing things so fast.

He just started smiling at her ways, and BAM! he's saying "I love you so, Jannat!!"

Like WHoa... " Back up a minute there dude... that escalated quickly!"

In summary: He didn't have to continue the charade of marriage to fall in love with Jannat. SK was coming in and out of the house already. ANd he didn't do anything about it!

I dunno, CCTVs, armed guards. anything!

then when Aahil finds Jannat, and this awkwardness between the three would be so engaging to watch.

Jannat, shocked that she is married to an extremely loving and troubled stranger. One who has been searching high and low for her.

Feeling the awkward unfamiliarity in his touch, wanting to be around safe Shaad instead.

The friction between the two men. escalating tensions over who she'd rather be with. And Jannat feeling torn between the two.

Would have been awesome.

But you know Soup, Shaad's lie might go unheeded at the end, like Seher's impersonation while Sanam was captured, like Rehan's crush on Sanam before SaHil's nikah; just swept under the carpet.

Sanam will forgive Shaad for allowing her to believe she was his wife, for her own protection.

Soup nice post. But I disagree! Shaad is not like the guy who was in the "Friend" trio. This is not "Sangam".

Shaad is someone who is in Sanam's life right now, only because he continues to deceive her. Their relationship is a LIE and he has now admitted it to an unconscious Sanam. But he says his "Love" is real? I don't believe that either! Real love can only be felt for someone you really KNOW. Not for someone who's real name you dont know. He has NO idea who this girl is or where she is from or what her life was, or who was in it? In short he knows nothing about her, accept a few things he has gleaned in the past 2-3 weeks.

This is called "Propinquity!". That is how a lot of arranged marriages not just in the East, but once upon a time in the "west" also worked. Just put two people together all the time, and hope their forced companionship will bring about some sort of intimacy.

SO what you are trying to say is that now Shaad will clearly start to take advantage of her? It isn't enough that he continues to lie to her, to his Father, and to everyone he meets? Not enough that he makes this girl sleep in his room and in his bed? Now he will also make "advances" towards her and take advantage of her, and WE are supposed to watch her "Compare" this assault, with the way she felt when her REAL husband touched her? Are you serious? Do they really expect the audience to sit through something that nauseating and offensive?I surely HOPE not!

I would beg you not to romanticize the situation of a women stuck with a man, NOT by choice, but by deception, to that of a story of a Devdas loving some girl from afar! Not the same thing. This is not remotely romantic. In essence what is happening with this girl is "Fraud!". Plain and simple. I am sure Aahil will be FULLY within his rights to file a Case against Shaad for keeping HIS wife with him under false pretenses!

One thing Shaad DOES know? He knows this girl does have someone in her life that she loves! But that appears not to concern him in the least. I was trying to give Shaad the benefit of the doubt last week. But now that's over. That love confession made me despise Shaad even more than I did before. He has proven how selfish and callous he really is.

Good post. But I completely disagree! Shaad is not Kuch Kuch Hota Hai ki Anjali! Absolutely Not. His falling in Love is just lame just like the decisions he made are lame. He is just...this is not love honestly! What does he know about Sanam? Nothing! Only yes he knew she has a lover...but he is just so pathetic that...you know what I just lost my wordsđŸ„± I can't give any sympathy to Shaad. I hope Aahil punches him black and blue.

Exactly! Your comment basically sums up my views as well... So I am not gonna repeat what you have already said lol

@Soup Excellent post Soup! 👏 I guess thats another way to look at it but still I cannot connect to Shaad. Maybe just like KK, I dont care either lol For now Aahil's increased screen space n the story arcs/characters related to him are what's keeping me interested in the show. The Pak track completely falls flat for me. But I am glad to see Jallad Jinn back in form! Your right, its not gonna be easy, but I sure hope its executed in a manner to make it exciting! This track has so much potential! It can be shown in a very exciting and emotional way! Anyway lets see what the cvs have in mind. For now, I will enjoy watching KV while he looks super sexy and shows a range of emotions per scene on my screen 😉😆

Sorry soup, Shaad can confess his 'love' to Sanam to the high heavens, don't give a damn...but if they show him take advantage of her by making advances at her then sorry man...HE would be no different from that Sheik Sanam was going to be sold to in the first place...
Yes, his 'loving' her does not make one fig of a difference if he is keeping her there and making advances at her WITHOUT GIVING HER A CHOICE>...THAT WOULD BE PLAIN AND SIMPLE "SEXUAL" EXPLOITATION

If the cvs want to make this anything other than that they need to show him tell her the truth NOW with that love confession and then let her decide to stay with him or allow his advances...
It is as simple as that...

I feel us viewers need to make as much a big deal about this as that hook scene

They simply can't romanticize this...this is CLEARLY EXPLOITATION OF A WOMAN IN TROUBLE

Same fate as a trafficked woman!

Beautifully said. I agree that Shaad and his choices are questionable, but they are his choices. I am just looking forward to the SaHil reunion. It will be hard. And hopefully it will be angst filled and passionate. I want Sanam to feel things without knowing. And I really, really hope, like you, that the writers don't drop the ball on this.

I find myself thinking more about what could have been when watching this show than enjoying what is.

KK,
That is the whole idea.
He is GOING TO BE shoved in our faces. We might as well be prepared to expect the worst.
Sanam could get more clingy...and at the end of the day she'd remember only how he tried to keep a distance and she clung on to him...It is not fair. But it is going to be like Aaher..No one is going to claim the responsibility. We will be lucky if Shaad feels like apologising...and that is that...it depends on how much the creatives feel like glorifying Shaad.

To me, it is only about Sahil..every other character that comes in between them is there to create a situation and move on...like Seher...Sahil demands answers only from each other- sometimes they don't. They just accept each other as they are.👏 The rest of the world does not exist for them.

So I will take this Major Haddi who is a Major Pain and enjoy my kebab.😆

For now, he is a fool who decided to get entangled with a girl who is too emotionally invested in another man. He cannot say he didn't know that. He knows by now to what extent Sanam loves her Aahil...I decide to leave my analysis and expectation of him there.

Mandy,

You don't have to disagree with me. Because I agree with you. He is much worse off than the third guy...But he is a fool. He has a choice to love whoever he wants- and he made a poor choice. Let him pay the price for it. Most likely, this will end with Shaad being glorified. That is what irritates me about this track. It seems to be more about Shaad than Sanam or Aahil or Jannat! At least, yesterday was that. I hope it changes. Though I have major doubts!

Yes. He is selfish and callous. He had a choice to get her to safety. He chose to keep her the way he wanted...I hope he pays for it...If he is not to, let them not shove him in our faces!

I made the comparison of three friends , seeing it purely from Shaad's POV. For him, he is teh third guy...He feels he has every right to love...Coveting what is another man's is a sin- For U and me...BUT DO THE CREATIVES THINK SO TOO??? (Please think about that. We are living in the world of 'My choice'..Pretty much every thing is 'My Choice'. Shaad says this is 'My choice'!đŸ„±)
