Part 3
~Second Thoughts~
"Thank you so much bhai sahib, I can understand that how tough and hard decision it can be for a father, and giving her daughter away to a total stranger is yet another difficult job", Dilshaad spoke.
They had reached here about an hour ago and by the look of it, things were in their favor from the very start.
"Dilshaad is right", Rashid continued "when Asad told me about his choice I had doubts, but now, after seeing this lovely child all my doubts are out of the window" Rashid spoke smiling at Zoya, he was actually proud of his son's choice.
"Jee what do I say about it, I had to get her married one day and well I couldn't see anyone better than Asad really, and what father really doesn't want the best for his daughter", he said.
Zoya's eyes immediately shot up the last part of the man's words had shook her to the core, she felt heat dissipating through herself, blood and tears blurring her vision. Only she knew how hard it was for her to throw back the hot tears forming in her eyes.
It was then that Rashid's phone vibrated, and guess who it was? Mr. Smitten Ahmed Khan Of course!
"What the hell Asad?", he whispered excusing himself from everyone.
"k-kya matlab hai dad? Do you know how sick worried I am here?", he said annoyed, he had literally been pacing around the hospital just to overcome the anxiety. "And thank me by the way, that I have not disturbed you so much!", he bragged.
"Ahan? You have NOT?" how about those 25 texts and 13 missed calls and those super annoying Flash messages!?", Rashid posed angrily.
"whatever Dad, just tell me what's going on?", Asad said in an annoyed tone while his insides were grinning at the mention of the flash messages he had sent Rashid.
"OK, here the thing son, we would have got you married till now if it was not for your stupid messages that keep on sending vibrations in my pants!". Came an angry Rashid. It was enough now!
"Acha ok...fine, I won't disturb but please jaldi karo na"
"Acha ok beta, but will you please let me go now?"
"Ya sure, ap bhi na dad, kaam kijiye ja k, kya mera time waste karte rehte hain"
"WHAT me? I-" and he hung off.

"what father really doesn't want the best for his daughter"
Zoya sat in her room wondering what would it have been like if these words truly meant something and not keeping the faade they usually keep in front of the world. Maybe then she would have been happier, and then this marriage- Oh the Marriage. What will happen now?', she wondered. Though somewhere in the bottom of her heart she knew she was happy about it but then there were other things which stacked over it and made it look like a filthy black monster. Should she say no? her happiness may cost Asad a sorrow of a lifetime. Should a girl like her be getting married to a genuine man like him?
"Hey Zoey, check out these earrings Asad's parents brought for you, God they are amazing!", Muskaan barged in popping Zoya's bubble.
"Huh! Yeah?...Hmmm they are nice", she said with a smile on her face. They were really a class. Simple yet elegant diamond dangles.
"Hey what's that?", Muskaan pointed at the bottom of the box.
When she flipped the box, she found a white paper taped at the bottom. She took it off and unfolded it.
-I'm glad that you and me are now US'
ASAD
And just like that he made her day. Her doubts vanishing into thin air for sometime

Asad returned home, a huge smile plastered on his face. His face beaming like a Christmas tree.
"Hey Ammi...Hi Dad!"
"Arre Asad, ao na betho", Dilshaad said with utmost affection.
"whats going on?", Asad asked pointing at a stack of cards as he made himself comfortable on the couch.
"Oh these... here have some water first", Dilshaad said as she poured him a glass of water. " we were writing out the invites"
"oh the inv- the WHAT?", he almost chocked on the water.
"your Nikkah invites?" Rashid said "kyun? Tumhe shaadi nahi karni kya?"
"No..no... I mean yes! Karni hai but its- you... you guys just returned from her house mom, and now you're giving out the invites?" Asad was super confused, "I mean...Hello Khans? What the hell is going on here?", he added dramatically
"Asad they... Mr. Farooqui wanted the Nikkah to happen soon, so we..." Rashid trailed off.
"And how soon?"
"Ummm... wo, by the end of this week!", Dilshaad added.
"What?", Asad's mouth almost touched the ground. "but..."
"Asad I understand and we tried to convince them but they didn't seem to agree..." Explained Rashid.
"Its...its ok dad", Asad sighed and went away while Rashid and Dilshaad stood there confused, they had expected anything but this reaction.
"Rashid? I.. I should talk to him!", she tried to follow him.
"No Dilshaad, just let him be for sometimes, I'll talk to him later"

Asad was sitting in the balcony looking at the stars, thinking.
Life can be really confusing at times, who could have guessed that he, Asad Ahmed Khan, who was never so much into girls [though what girls thought of him was a totally different story], would fall this badly for a girl and that girl about whom he didn't know anything really. A girl he wants to love him back, a girl he wants to be his forever, a girl he wants to...
"Asad?", Rashid called pulling him out of his thoughts.
"uh- yea..yes dad?"
"Yahan kyun bethe ho?"
"Nothing dad its, just..." he sighed.
"Thinking about zoya right?"
"Dad?" Asad didn't know what to say.
"Talk to me Son, tell me what's wrong"
"its just..." Asad sighed "I just don't know dad... I mean I thought... zoya, she's..."
"Asad?" Rashid urged him to go on.
"Dad its... its Zoya, mujhe kuch samaj nai a raha dad..."
"So you don't want to marry her?"
"No... No! I mean of course yes I want to... but you see...its just that I love her dad... and I want her to love me back, I thought maybe if I spend time with her during the courtship, she'll..."
"she'll start loving you right?"
"well..."
"This doesn't happen son, love doesn't happen just like that or just because you want it to, you cannot impose your love on her or...on anybody else, And about time, well now since the Nikkah is happening, instead of courtship period you'll have the rest of your life and then who knows, maybe she'll fall for you"
"She will?", Asad asked, his eyes huge and glittering with hope.
"Of course she will, I mean I would have if I were a girl"
"Daaad!"
"Ok peace!... wese bhi Asad this relationship you're getting yourself into, will not be a normal one, for a start that is, and me and your mom understand that. Beta I know you and I've seen Zoya too, you'll have to work a lot on it Asad, this is going to take a lot of patience and all the love in the world you can give her".
"I understand that dad and I hope I do"
"oh you will son... you will...ok now c'mon Dilshaad's waiting at the table and well I can hear your Mr. Grumble too"
And just then Asad's stomach growled! Making both of them chuckle.
