Forgive me for being on another tangent, but for a few moments I couldn't help but think Asad was dead, the quoted narration and the flashbacks don't seem to move beyond the 1st two years of marriage. 🤪

God forbid, nevertheless,that thought was a result of an overworked brain. 😳 😆

Okay now that I got that thought out, the more logical explanation:

They drifted apart in his attempt to provide a better life for them but in the process losing the opportunity to enjoy life together in the present. 🥺

"I am so sorry Zoya..And I promise, this picture stays in my phone till the day I remain guilty of my act!"

The title directed my though process in relation to the conversation about the mysterious road and the significance's about the introspect they both shared while sitting along the road, this is the journey of Asad walking back home, to his family whom he has drifted from in an attempt he thought would give them a better life.

But I'm certain his wallpaper shall be changed after Meheks next birthday. 😉

This is a beautiful well thought out story, thanks for delivering your talent to us.

Zoya wanted to go on that road which asad always avoided
She asked him several times. Asad told her his fear abt that road
Birthday scene was nice. The hint u have us that asad was always busy & didn't give proper time. As he said that until the time he felt guilty, he kept that wallpaper. Continue soon plz
