Hi all,
This is my first OS on Aahil and Sanam. I just thought I would write an OS based on the song "Hungry eyes" from the movie Dirty Dancing. An absolute classic. The lyrics are very apt for the way Aahil looks at Sanam. This OS is based during the time of his realisation of love and his engagement. Hope you all like it!
HUNGRY EYES - A SAHIL OS.
"I've been meaning to tell you...I've got this feeling that wont subside.
I look at you and I fantasise...your mine tonight.
Now I've got you in my sights...with these hungry eyes.
One look at you and I can't disguise, I've got hungry eyes..
I feel the magic between you are and I."
Here he was... Staring again. He can't seem to look away. He can't remember ever staring at a women. Yes, over the years he had found many women attractive. Beautiful even. But it had always been a detached sort of admiration. A very surface thing. Some of those women he had even been intimate with. But still, he could never remember staring at any of them. Ever not being able to look away. Ever stealing glances. The sort of thing you see in movies. He remembered laughing at such things. The way those guys used to check out their so called "love intrest". The look in their eyes had been more than lust. Even in his cynicism he had recognised this fact. He was sure that right now if he looked in a mirror, he would see the same expression mirrored in his eyes too.
In the past, he had always looked a women straight in the eye. No flinching. He had stated his terms too, without flinching. "No strings", no attachment. No talk of marriage. No emmotional involments. Those were the rules of engagement. If this was acceptable, we can proceed. If not, let's part ways now. Looking back, it seemed so cut and dry. So business like. Cold almost. Yes he had been cold. As hot blooded as he had been sexually, emotionally he had always been cold. The women he cavorted with had always left him cold!
Then he saw HER! Even from the first moment he set eyes on her... When she challenged him regarding him mowing into that man's vegetable stand, there was something about her. He had turned around and thrown some money at her. "For your courage", he remembered saying. Even in that moment, he had known, she was worth a second glance. She had taken him by surprise. Something no women had ever done. He had always found most women he met predictable. Sometimes even boring. Case in point, the women he had gone to Panjab with. She had been dull. He can barely remember her face, only that towards the end she had irritated him no end. When she asked him why he would talk to his mum for so long, that had done it. He had ditched her. Very ungentlemently yes. But he had not felt in a charitable mood towards anyone who questioned his relationship with his mother! But SHE had insulted his mother too. He had taken her on because of this fact more than any other fact. His insult he could stand. But not his Mother's. But even this slight from her towards his Mother had not stopped him from noticing her. Stopped him from dare he say it...falling for her??
I wanna hold you so hear me out..
I wanna show you what loves all about..darling tonight
Now I've got you in my sights.
With these...hungry eyes. One look at you and I can't disguise
I've got hungry eyes...I feel the magic between you and I.
Now did I take you by surprise...
Tonight she was looking ethereal. She was in black. He was getting engaged. She had chosen the ring. He had put it on Nida. But his eyes had been on her. All night. Just on her. Since the night he saved her, and she had clung to him and asked him not to leave her, he had not been able to stop thinking of her. All he thought about day and night was her. HOW did she not know what he was feeling? How could she too not feel this feeling that was threatening to overwhelm him?? Every time he looked at her, he was sure that his eyes were screaming his emotions. It was like a storm was raging inside him. How could she be oblivious to the clouds in his eyes?? Aahil Raza Ibrahim who had always had something to say, and never went backwards on coming forward, was lost for words. How ironic that he can't express his feelings?? But this time it was different. This was not about passing some smart comment or being articulate about some meaningless topic. This was his heart. His heart was longing for someone. Someone who appeared not to know or return his feelings. He had got engaged to someone else, hoping she would notice. Hoping she would care?? But at a glance it appeared she didn't! All he can do is keep staring at her... Hoping she would read what his eyes are telling her. Words his lips can't form.
I need you to see...this love was meant to be.
Now I've got you in my sights
I've got Hungry Eyes
One look at you and I can't disguise
I've got hungry eyes...I feel the magic between you and I
It was like saving her had saved him. Saving her life, he had felt like he got redemption from his sins. He was able to take off the bandage he covered his hand with. The hand that had held that gun. The hand he never wanted to look at. He had saved her yes... But she had saved him! She had given him salvation. Salvation from the prison that was his guilt. In saving her, he had felt like he was worth something. That maybe he was not that bad after all? Someone needed him? She had held him and asked him not to leave. Asked him to save her. Asked him to protect her. Those words where etched in his soul. Would she EVER understand what those words meant to him?? She didn't even remember saying them! That was the irony. Since his childhood memories that haunt him, this was the first time that a memory had had this power over him. The memory of what it felt like to be held by her. What it felt like to be needed by her. It was like that memory had erased the dark ones in his mind. Brought in the light!
No matter what happened in his life now, that memory will be the single most defining memory of his life. The moment he felt whole. The moment he got his soul back. For that, he would always be in her debt. No money could ever pay it back. Even though it hurt like hell...that maybe she can never be his...having met her and having loved her is not something he could ever regret!
If only she could feel what he felt. If she could see that they were meant to be?? If only she could read his hungry eyes?? Feel the magic he felt!! If only...
I need you to see...this love was meant to be.
Now I've got you in my sights
I've got Hungry Eyes
One look at you and I can't disguise
I've got hungry eyes...I feel the magic between you and I
This was just something I thought up, as I heard this song again recently. I absolutely love this song. I am not sure if this was any good. Please leave comments. Thanks!
For all Arnav and Khushi lovers... Here is a treat. The link to a VM someone made on this song for them. It is perfect.
