Destiny Has Chosen.
Sanam:
Sanam caressed the ring Asma had painfully handed over as she departed minutes before. She had broken her engagement with Azhar and the rings had been returned. She had not wanted any reminder of the con she had been exposed to. She had said that it had been Aahil's choice...apparently, he had said that if he were to choose a ring for himself, he would choose the very same. It was now her wedding gift for them. She had wished that the ring would bless them with more love... undoubtedly, their facade had fooled every one in the family too.
Knowing the short life of her own wedding, Sanam had tried to persuade her gently against it; but she had insisted. She wondered how she'd give Aahil the ring, considering this was the end of three months...right now, she could not decide if what she felt in her heart was dread or relief... She supposed she could just hand it over to him, saying Asma had left it for him.
She ran her finger over the pattern. This ring was just a bigger version of what she had chosen for Nida- as Aahil had requested her. Latif had said that it had been his choice too...though he had criticised her tastes. But he had ended up giving the very same ring. She could not help but smile at the sweet little ego games he staunchly held on to ...the very next minute, she was surprised at her own affable reaction.
She wondered what had come of that ring. Nida had left the house in a fit of anger after Begum Sahiba had exposed her as she returned to claim her rights...
The two rings must have been made as a pair, she guessed. Her mind took her back to the evening she had returned to the Nawab Mansion to thank Rehaan. Now she remembered that this very same ring had rolled out of the house...landed at her feet. Asma had come searching for it and she had handed it over to her. How poetic that this ring kept changing hands...as if it was making its own story. She smiled to herself. She was beginning to sound a lot like Hayaa... Sanam sighed at the thought of her Badi Ammi and Hayaa. Quite soon, she'd be with her loved ones, though she'd never ever feel the same.
Aahil:
Aahil paced the garden restlessly. Three Months...this was the end of three months. Sanam's pact ended today...as soon as the papers were settled. He had always known he would feel like this on this day- ambushed...distressed...and supremely unhappy. He had given upon ever going back to his old self long back. He had thought that being prepared would make it less painful...apparently, nothing would lessen the agony!
His eyes caught something shining on the grass. He squinted as it gave a naughty glint directed at him. It was gold, embedded in the dirt. He picked it up...to his pleasant surprise, he found that it was the ring Sanam had chosen for him...for his engagement. Dirt covered it all over, except for the small bit that stuck out, that had called out to him. He dusted the dirt off. It was beautifully simple. Suddenly he had an urge to know how it'd look on Sanam's finger. They had chosen it together. He had chosen it for her. But he put that thought away quickly; he was only going to break his heart on his unfulfilled dreams for the millionth time.
Sanam:
She had been so lost in her thoughts, that she had not heard the Vakil Saab enter. He was an upright man, and had grown increasingly fond of her in particular...he had bought the cute love story Aahil had painted of them. The man truly considered her a princess...a co- inheritor of her beloved husband's riches.
" Oh! Is that a ring U have there- ...a man's ring?"- Sanam was shaken out of her reverie.
She smiled blankly at him, and quickly acknowledged Begum Sahiba who had been noticing their exchange. Begum Sahiba wanted to add her own little touch to the beautiful lie her son had lived...
"It is three months since the nikah, and the children decided to celebrate the day memorably...Sanam is planning to gift the ring to Aahil today...Haina, Sanam Beta..."
Sanam ignored the twinge in her heart, and nodded silently...
She wondered at Begum Sahiba's wits...it was going to look very odd that Aahil did not have a ring for her.
Aahil:
The evening sun was still giving out bright rays as Aahil closed the garden tap and looked at the ring. He had cleansed it off every bit of dirt...The ring already looked more beautiful than it did on Nida's finger.
He had made up his mind. This ring had to go to Sanam. He had no use for it any more. Even if she had not chosen him, he wanted her to have a mark of his...a disparate complement for the permanent mark she had carved into his soul...Still...It had to go to her...
He heard footsteps behind him. He turned back to see the Maulavi who had conducted their nikah. Ammi must have invited him to give a touch of sanctity' to the occasion .He closed his hands over the ring, but not before the old man had noticed it.
"Destiny chooses wisely..."- He gave a knowing smile. He was jubiliant that a marriage officiated by him was growing stronger by the day...
Aahil agreed with a faint smile.
Destiny chose Sanam - No one had to tell him that.
Unfortunately, it forgot to choose him for Sanam- He noted mentally.
Destiny Has Chosen:
It ended up looking like a small engagement ceremony. The whole house was down to witness the inheritance. The presence of Vakil Saab and Maulavi Saab made the affair look legal and blessed.
Sanam was surprised to see the ring with Aahil. She wondered how he had managed to come up with the perfect partner to the ring. Had he had it with him for a long time? Did it just come in handy for the occasion?
They exchanged the rings amidst the excited chatter around them...they were teased and cheered in turns...
Sanam beamed at the joy surrounding her, despite the ache in her heart. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw how perfect the ring looked on Aahil's finger.
When it came to her turn, she lifted her eyes slightly ...she wanted every memory etched into her heart.
He looked straight into her eyes and whispered softly..."It is a gift...wear it..."
It was an order, but she'd consider it a plea... She closed her eyes to drown herself in the aura that he was for her...and nodded...obediently.
He looked proudly at the ring that adorned her finger...it was a perfect fit...it lent a definite charm to her graceful hands.
The ring had found its destiny!

If U liked this story, you can thank divs aka The Girl Who Likes to Paint It Black'!- for asking me to incorporate' the ring' into Saahil.
This story can be considered a leaf out of the show. It is one of the scenarios for the rings to get back to their destined ones...
It is a simple plot.
The ending is incomplete, because this is the Rings' story!š And the rings have completed their story!š
This one will always be close to my heart for the thought process that went behind it- so...divs, thanx a lot! š³( I hope I did not disappoint U.).
I was quite confounded when I was asked to write something on the ring...
The ring that was fresh in memory was Rehaan's...and that was something he had chosen...so I was not sure how I could write that ring into Saahil. I thought it was an impossible task for me and had given up almost immediately. Then I remembered Nida's ring...but that was already on Nida's finger...
It took me sometime to remember that there was a third ring- Asma's. If I remember right, Aahil chose it for Azhar...and that was THE RING of the show! That is when it struck me that the rings had to be united...the story slowly built up...and the result is here. I find it sweet because this came out of the blue!
Hope U people enjoyed reading it...š³
Oh! And Destiny Has Chosen', because it got tired waiting for these two idiots to come around!š„±
