The morning dawned, both the family assembled and were expecting reply from their children, haider and zoya came in front of them..

H: who abbu we both are still young...

R: what is matter beta.. is there anything wrong...

H: who... Actually..

Z: ammi.. there is nothing wrong... U go ahead with preparation...

As the elders discussed within themselves, haider pulled zoya to her room, and closed behind them..

Z: I am so sorry..for u too.. that u r struck with me... I felt I am not doing the right thing with you...

H: zoya... u r bestie...i will be there for u always...

H: I will wait for u.. buddy.. u know time is the best healer... don't worry about me.. god knows when I will starting seeing as my would be.. u r my bestie for life.. and I will be the shoulder to lean on...

H: now dry ur tears.. we don't want our parents to think anything wrong..

Both of them came down, and family informed that they will have a simple and small wedding with family and friends... and the wedding will be 10 days.. as these 2 of have only 15 days leave..a simple wedding card was selected the same and printed ..

5 days before wedding:

Asad house:

Haider came inside the house, with asad and najma sitting in the hall.

N: come in..

H: me and zoya are getting married.. I am here to invite for wedding..

N: congrats... in 5 days.. i.e quick...

H: parents want a simple wedding.. so..

N: so u were in love with zoya..

H: not exactly.. she is my bestie for life.. when parents came up with that proposal..i didn't find any reason to say NO.. he explained looking at asad.. and waited for his reactions..

A: congrats haider.. and he took haider for a hug...

A: u r lucky to have zoya as ur partner...

H: thank you.. do attend the wedding...

A: yeah sure...

Haider came out the house confused, he almost wanted to confess to asad.. but asad face it didn't show any sadness.. and he was actually happy for them...was it all one sided from zoya...

Inside:

N: how u can u be happy asad..

A: why shouldn't i..

N: the person with whom u wanted to spend the rest of life is getting married to someone else...

A: she is getting married to a wonderful person appi.. who will keep her happy... so I am happy for her... I don't want my sadness to affect them...

Haider informed zoya that he has invited asad...so zoya decided to call him...

Z: hello..

A: congrats... haider is a lucky guy...

Z: thank you...

A: all the best.. for ur new journey...

Z: thank you..

Someone called zoya, and she ended the call with a heavy heart.. and so did asad... one thing both of them realized that they are should not be in touch with each other.. like the past.. as the life has taken a new mode... only the distance will help them move on..

A day before wedding:

Z: thank u for coming alia...

A: when u called me.. how can I say no...

Z: come inside..and she introduced her to the family members.. and they settled in zoya room..

Al: haider is one lucky guy..

Z: thank you..

Al: u r welcome...

Z: alia.. why don't u tell asad how u feel about him..

Al: zoya..

Z: I know what u feel for him... Ur status in still single... time and tide wait for none.. why don't u just confess,..

Al: scared if he rejects me...

Z: why..

Al: I don't know...( alia knows what asad feels for zoya... she was surprised when she came know zoya is marrying haider...she didn't want to tell the truth now, and assumed zoya and haider love each other)

Z: now u r here.. u should tell him..will you...

Al: I will try..

Z: I don't want u regret u in the future...

Wedding day:

The wedding was taking place in farooqi house.. a small family function...asad came and wished haider and he stood at one corner..

Alia along with humi brought zoya down... and zoya was sitted... and zoya nudged alia at asad directions.. asad was standing at the each of the screen.. away and at the center.. alia went and stood him..

Al: hai..

A: u didn't come home.. u came here straight.. now zoya is ur bestie...

Al: hey.. she is getting married.. she is priority..

A: when r u getting married...

Al: when u say yes...

A: alia..(asad knows alia is in love with him for a long time. He came to know through his friends.. but he never said anything at the time...)

Al: I know asad...that u don't love me... that u love someone... but...when that person in not in ur life anymore..

A: I need time alia...

Al: I know... I will wait..

A: I know that too...how come u r saying all this now..

Al: zoya asked me to confess..

A: hmm...

She stood next to him.. hoping with time.. he will say yes.. as zoya turned and looked at her she showed a thumbs up sign.. and zoya smiled...

She didn't get her love... but was happy herlove is in the company of a person who loved him..

When the qazi asked haider for his acceptance.. he looked at zoya through the screen.. and she nodded... And then he gave the consent... and then zoya gave her uttering qubool hai...

Love is not just being married to the person u love.. but also want the person loved to be happy and loved too...

Though their love never reached their destination.. they were happy they fell in love... and also happy that their love is safe and happy in the care of someone who loved them... they went to lead a happy life with their respective partners... when they prayed... a dua went up for the wellbeing of their first love...always...

End of a Kind..

I know most of u r not happy with the ending... but I have to justify the title I gave... It was "an Affair to remember..."

Not happy at all...

I did hint in my note about.. every coin having two sides.. I meant this I want to explore the ending...one more ending to this story. Ofcourse the happy ending...

Prologue again:

Present:

The thud of the window brought him to present.. and he looked at the wedding card to see..

Zoya farroqi weds asad ahmed khan.. his face beamed... the heart the happiness... and joy...

Actually I kind of like the first end... so I let you decide

As they parted outside the coffee shop.. zoya hugged him one last time.. asad held her one last time... as she moved, asad pulled her back... and held her infront of him.. and his hands automatically cupped her cheeks.. and looked at the eyes.. the eyes spoke.. and his lips moved forward..very slowly.. and her lips came forward. And brushed his lips... and tears flowed... and she crashed on him... and he crushed her in his arms...never letting her go...!!!!!!!!!

I am not sure of whether I am going to write this side of the coin...
