Hello everyone!! 😃 Here is the 39th update and as I had mentioned this update has the start of the leap in the story and hope you all enjoy reading. And as an addition, I have added a banner for this FF too. 😊

Part 39:

Nikhat was staring at Farhaan, while Farhaan attempted to move to the home. Nikhat blocked his way and looked at him.

"Why are you doing this Farhaan? You are avoiding me since a few days. Why are you doing this??" asked Nikhat.

"Nikhat, let me go!!" said Farhaan and tried going into the home, but Nikhat didn't let him move from there.

"No!! You can't leave each time like this. Today I need an answer from you. Why are you avoiding me Farhaan?? Tell me!! Tell me the reason Farhaan!!!" shouted Nikhat, while Farhaan grabbed both her hands tight towards him, startling Nikhat.

"You want to know the reason, don't you?? You want to know why I am behaving like this?? So, hear it!! It's you!! You are the reason!!" shouted Farhaan, while Nikhat looked at him with a panicked look, trying to let go off his hold.

"Why are you so bothered with my ignorance Nikhat?? What difference does it make to you? You don't love me yeah? Then what is your issue??" asked Farhaan with glistening tears, while Nikhat was holding back her tears, looking down.

"Farhaan, leave me. You are hurting me Farhaan..." cried Nikhat, trying to let his firm hold.

"It's hurting you??" asked Farhaan and pulled her more closer and their faces were close to each other and they were looking into each other's tear-filled eyes in pain, and Farhaan continued, "It's hurting me too Nikhat. I am not able to overcome it too. The pain is that intense for me to tolerate. What do I do Nikhat??'

Nikhat looked at Farhaan who was in tears and closed her eyes unable to look at him.

"If you didn't love me at least, I would have forgotten it and tried to move on. But you love me...just as I do!!!" said Farhaan and Nikhat looked at him hearing it, and Farhaan added, "But I don't understand why are you hurting me hiding that fact and hurting yourself too. Why are you doing that Nikhat??"

Nikhat just tried moving her hands as it was hurting her and was in tears. Looking at it, Farhaan left his hold and Nikhat rubbed her hands.

"Sorry!!" said Farhaan composing himself, "You may go!!"

Nikhat just looked at him and turned to go, while Farhaan called out, "One minute Nikhat!!"

Nikhat stopped and Farhaan came to her, while Nikhat didn't turn back and just stood there to listen to him.

"I believe you will come to me one day soon. Whatever is the reason stopping you to accept my love, I am sure you will brush it off and come running into my arms soon!! And be it that I have to wait for years too, I shall wait for you!!" Farhaan said and Nikhat turned at him hearing that.

Farhaan smiled at her and said, "I won't ignore you too hereafter. I just wanted to confirm if something and I have got my answer. Now waiting for you is the only thing left, and I will do it!!"

Hearing it, Nikhat ran inside the home, while Farhaan sat down near the lake. Unknowing to them, Tanveer was watching them both and was witnessing their entire conversation.

"I never knew there was such a love track going on between Farhaan and Nikhat" said Tanveer and wondered, "So, what happened to Nikhat's love, about which she had said me months back??"

Next day, by evening, the college dazzled in the enjoyment of the college fest and every students were having the best of their times. The participants were busy with their costumes, instruments and other necessary things for their performances and the volunteers were busy with the event organization.

Dilshaad and Rashid were at the staff block and Imraan came running to them.

"Sir!! Ma'am!! Aren't you coming to the auditorium??" asked Imraan.

"Yes Imraan, we are on the way. Just that, we had to drop our activity log in the dean's drop box. The fest has started?" asked Dilshaad locking her cabin and Rashid too was coming out of his cabin.

"No Ma'am. It will start in 30 minutes mostly. I just came to check if you both had started" said Imraan.

"We will be there in 10 minutes." Hearing that Imraan too leave from them and Dilshaad and Rashid were walking out of the staff block.

"By the way, when are we making the announcement??" Rashid asked Dilshaad, while Dilshaad smiled hearing it.

"After the fest gets over, we will call them all to your cabin and let them know!!" Dilshaad replied, while Rashid complied with it, smiling at her and they walked to the auditorium.

Meanwhile, there were riots taking place in the girls' dressing room and make-up room. All the girls who were performing were busy with their make-up and dressing.

"Where are my earrings??" asked Humeira, searching the dressing tables.

"Humeira darling!!! It's there in your left hand!!!" Tanveer said and Humeira saw her hand and spotted the earrings. She bit her tongue and gave a silly smile at Tanveer, while Tanveer laughed at her. Tanveer was doing her last minute make-up, with Nikhat helping her out.

"Tanveer, this is the fourth time you are doing your last minute make-up. When will you give it a halt??" asked Zoya, coming towards her and sat at the table facing Tanveer.

"What to do Zoya?? I never feel satisfied with the make-up" said Tanveer adjusting her hair.

"Girls!! Here is the performance schedule booklet. Go through it!!" said Pooja, the event coordinator, leaving it at the table near the entrance.

Nikhat took it and went through it.

"Tannu!!! Our dance is the first programme!!!" exclaimed Nikhat and Tanveer sprang up from her chair in shock.

"Whaaattt!!! Nooo!!!" exclaimed Tanveer with a tensed face, "I asked Pooja to keep it after Ayaan-Humeira's duet song. Why did she do this??"

Tanveer and Nikhat then started rehearsing their steps quickly, while Zoya took her mobile and started messaging Asad.

Zoya: Hey baby...You are ready for the dance performance tonight??

Asad replied after 5 minutes.

Asad: I am waiting for that moment honey...can't wait to show my love to the entire university...*kiss*

Zoya blushed reading the message and smiled looking at the mobile and kissed it making sure no one else saw it.

Back in the guy's room, Ayaan was adjusting his hair and Imraan patted his back.

"Dude, you are just singing right?? Why do you get ready as if you are having a dance performance or such??" asked Imraan.

"Then, shall I go to stage right after waking up from bed??" asked Ayaan and Farhaan started laughing hearing it.

"Instead of Imraan Sheikh, your parents should have named you Idiotic Sheikh!!" said Ayaan and hearing it, an irritated Imraan took Ayaan's guitar.

"Dude!!! Don't touch my Noor Jahan!!!" said Ayaan in a panicked tone and they started all over the dressing room, while Asad was laughing at their antics and continued messaging Zoya.

Asad: Can you come to the passage opposite the auditorium?? I want to see you in the dress in which you are performing...*waiting desperately*

Zoya: Okay...5 minutes I will be there *kiss*

Asad was waiting in the passage and he heard footsteps from far. He turned to see Zoya coming from far and was taken aback looking at her. She came in a black chiffon flowing anarkali with curled hair and came to him and stood opposite him.

"You look stunning in this dress!!" said Asad looking at Zoya and Zoya blushed hearing it.

"You too look hot in this black shirt" said Zoya and Asad smiled hearing it.

"And I wanted to tell you something." said Zoya.

"What is it Zoya??" asked Asad.

Zoya went to his ear and Asad was trying to listen what it is. Zoya kissed him on his cheek and ran away from there laughing and Asad was taken aback with the unexpected kiss and looked at Zoya.

She stopped at the end of the passage and turned at him, while Asad too looked at her with a smile.

"I love you Asad!!!!" shouted Zoya and ran away from there, while Asad blushed hearing it and looked at the passage and said in a low tone, "I love you too sweetheart!!"

The fest had started and Nikhat and Tanveer were done with their performance on "Dola Re" from and had received a huge applause from all. They came back to the make-up room and Humeira came running to them.

"It was amazing dearies!!!" exclaimed Humeira as she hugged them both.

"Thanks Humzie!!" said Nikhat.

"Okay, our performance is in 10 minutes. I am going to Ayaan. Come soon haan!!" said Humeira and ran out backstage.

Tanveer and Nikhat were removing their heavy earrings and Tanveer looked at Nikhat.

"Well...Nikhat, I wanted to talk to you something" said Tanveer and Nikhat looked at her.

"Tell me Tannu??" asked Nikhat and Tanveer kept her hand on Nikhat's shoulder.

"Listen Nikhat, some things in life don't happen when we want it. But when it happens, we must learn to seize it. Or else, alter we will find ourselves crying over spilt milk" said Tanveer and Nikhat didn't understand anything.

"What are you talking about Tannu?? I don't get you" said Nikhat.

"I am talking about Farhaan!!" Tanveer said it and Nikhat looked at her shocked.

"Tannu..." said Nikhat when Tanveer stopped her, "I know dear, I know what is going on between you and Farhaan."

Nikhat looked down hearing it and Tanveer lifted her chin and made Nikhat face her.

"Nikhat, I remember you once telling me that you loved some guy and he is in love with someone and you are over him. But is it bothering you yet that you are staying away from Farhaan?? Is that the reason?" asked Tanveer.

"No Tannu. I am over him and what I said is true. That is not the reason I am stopping myself from Farhaan" said Nikhat.

"Then what is the reason??" asked Tanveer.

"Well...it's just that...I am scared Tannu. I am scared of my ill fate. My life was never happy. And whoever was related to me, everyone faced pain and only pain. I am scared that even Farhaan might face the same. And that's because I do love him!! I can't see my ill fate ruining his life as well. That's the reason I am just staying away from him" replied Nikhat.

"But by staying away, aren't you giving him more pain??" asked Tanveer and Nikhat looked at her, as Tanveer continued, "Nikhat, thinking about all your insecurities and fear about your fate, I do not want you to lose a person who is in deep love with you and I don't want you to regret over it as well. Think over it. Take your own time; be it months or years, but make sure Farhaan can only fill the void in your life!!"

Saying so, Tanveer left to the auditorium and Nikhat sat down in the chair over there and was thinking about Tanveer's words.

Ayaan and Humeira too gave a scintillating singing performance on "Chahun Main Ya Naa" and it was time for the last performance, which was by Asad and Zoya.

Asad and Zoya gave a very sensuous and wonderful dance performance on "Katra Katra" and they set the stage blazing in fire caused due to the heat produced by their intense chemistry and dance.

All the performances were over and Rashid was invited on stage to announce the Entertainer of the Event award.

"It was a wonderful night students!!! Everyone just made this night very much memorable by their wonderful performances and we loved it!!" Rashid said as everyone clapped over it.

"But only one performance can be selected for presenting the Entertainer of the Event' award. As usual, you students have voted for them in the Poll Box and one couple has grabbed the most number of votes. And so, the Entertainer of the Event' award goes to..."

Rashid stopped and there were majority of the people cheering for Asad and Zoya, including Dilshaad and the group of friends, while Asad and Zoya smiled at the response.

After a silence of a few seconds, Rashid announced, "Asad and Zoya!!!! The Stars of the Night!!!"

All of them gave Asad and Zoya a loud round of applause and the friends cheered for Asad and Zoya and they hugged them both. Asad and Zoya were too happy hearing it and went to the dais and received the award from Rashid. The festive night ended in a beautiful note over there.

It was 10 pm at night and the entire group of friends were present at Rashid's cabin along with Dilshaad.

"What's the matter Khala??" asked Zoya, "Immediately after dress change you asked all of us to come to Dr. Rashid's cabin. What do you want to speak to us now?? That too at this time?"

"It's something important which we want to announce!!" said Rashid.

"Announce??' asked Ayaan, "Sir!!! Don't tell me you are giving us a surprise test tomorrow morning. If that's the case, I am taking a sick leave tomorrow."

Everyone laughed hearing it including Rashid and Dilshaad.

"Hahaha...no Ayaan. It's not that. It's something related to us!" said Rashid referring to him and Dilshaad and stood up from his place.

"What is it Sir?" asked Asad curiously.

"Dilshaad, you only tell everyone." Rashid said and Dilshaad stood up and faced everyone.

"Well, it's that, Rashid and I have decided to get married ...that too the very next day after Asad and Zoya's wedding takes place!!!"

Hearing Dilshaad's announcement, Asad and Zoya stood up in joy and rest of them clapped in joy hearing it.

"Woww!!! That's amazing Ma'am!!! Congrats!!" congratulated Tanveer and everyone congratulated them both.

"So, on account of this happy moment, we all are going for a dinner now and it's my treat!!" said Rashid and everyone cheered hearing it.

"And I wish this happiness stays with all of us always and we all remain together like this always!!" said Dilshaad as Zoya hugged her and all of them had a lovely group hug adding beauty to that wonderful moment.

After a leap of 2 years:

Life was going smooth for all the friends with minor changes in their lives. All the friends were working as intern doctors in the same hospital after the completion of their studies. Imraan and Tanveer were married, next month after their course got over.

At the doctors' station, all of them were chatting with each other during their break. Nikhat was going through her patient details, when Farhaan came to her.

"Nikhat, can I speak to you alone? For 5 minutes?" asked Farhaan. Looking around, Nikhat accompanied him and walked out of the station.

"Yes, tell me Farhaan" said Nikhat.

"I might be going to my home soon taking a short leave. And my parents are on a discussion about my marriage" said Farhaan and Nikhat looked down hearing it.

"I have been waiting for 2 years to hear the feelings you have for me from your mouth, which you have been hiding it in your heart only. Respecting your feelings I never forced you. But if you would open up to me soon, I would go and directly tell my parents that you are the girl I want to marry. Think and tell me your answer soon."

Saying so, Farhaan walked off, while Nikhat rushed to the stair well and closed the door behind her.

"Farhaan's parents are talking about his marriage. Maybe, its time I go with Tanveer's advice??" said Nikhat to herself, "If I leave it now, what if I lose Farhaan forever?? It's been 2 years since Farhaan proposed me and I thought he would move on with someone else. But he is still in my thoughts, with the same amount of love for me. Guess, I should bring Farhaan's wait to an end!!"

Meanwhile, Zoya came running to the cafeteria in search of Asad.

"Asad!!!" Zoya came to Asad running and Asad stood up from his table and looked at Zoya.

"What happened Zoya?? Some patient is chasing you for doing any wrong treatment??" asked Asad laughing.

"Very funny!!" sulked Zoya, "It's not that Asad. Ammi had called me just now!!"

"Ohh...wow!! How is she?? What did she say??" asked Asad in glee.

"She is coming to India in 2 days to finalize our marriage!!!" exclaimed Zoya happily and Asad was overwhelmed in joy and hugged her tightly.

"Finally Zoya...what we all wanted is about to happen soon!" said Asad happily.

"Well Asad, ask your uncle too if he can come to India nah?? If he too is here, it would be better in fixing our marriage in the presence of your uncle and my Ammi. What say??" asked Zoya.

"Yes, you are right. I will ask my uncle also to come to India. I don't want any shortcomings in our marriage. The journey of us both becoming one has to be a very beautiful one!!" said Asad and Zoya nodded to it and they both hugged each other lovingly.

Precap: Zainab and Kabir reach India from London and US respectively and Asad and Zoya planned to get them both meet for lunch. Farhaan leaves a note in Nikhat's file letting her know that he is leaving home on vacation earlier than expected and if she comes to the airport to send him off, he would consider it a yes from her or he would painfully accept her rejection if she doesn't. In a playful fight among Ayaan and Imraan, the note falls down from Nikhat's file and lands in her open handbag.
