Asad-Zoya FF:Zoya Proposes, Asad Disposes Thread II Chapter 22 Pg 137 - Page 68

First off, really cool to have an update earlier than promised, Thank you!! 😊

Zoe, Zoe, Zoe 🥱sigh

Starting at the beginning, Zoya revisits her relationship with Tanveer, it could have been condescending but it was not, she has reframed her mind with this part. It has moved to being protective and caring. Imran and Zoya: This part is really well done. I think it was really exceptionally written, 👍🏼 we needed this, the changed Zoya's POV regarding Imran. Imran's humility, honesty and sincerity, and his genuine smile, was enough to disarm Zoya. Her constant doubt, the confusion, guilt, acknowledgement of him being a gentleman unlike Akram, the contrasts are so diametrically opposing. Her whole interaction was steeped in awareness, to the point that she was able to connect this to Asad. He is always in back of her mind. Yet she kept Tanveer away from Akram. Two steps forward and then a step back? 😕 That last bit of insecurity, the loss of confidence in an instant, spontaneously she made a choice to keep them away. The good part is that it worries her, so some part of her realizes that she probably did not make a right choice. 😳

The scene at Rashid and Dilshad's place. Again nicely done. The confusion of characters, Ayaan is at the tether of breaking point, from all directions, and unfortunately it comes out on everyone else around, his inability to handle pressure was showing in worse possible way. Zoya's efforts to change any of it was backfiring in all other directions. Raashid and Dilshad are tightly strung in their own way to deal with the circumstances created by spoilt Ayaan. Tanveer is apparently busy wooing her saas sasur? 🥱 Really Zoe? 😡 And to add to the weird milieu joins in Shireen and Humeira. And finally Asad. 😳 I bet the tension probably felt in the air with just what each character was dealing with was waiting to burst into flames. Except the basic civility could have saved the scene from disintegrating into total chaos. Even through all this, Ayaan's follies were finally glaring at Zoe, within the situation she understood his immaturity. That last bit of nail was finally dealt by Zoe, how fast and easy it came undone, it fell upon completely innocent and naive people. Ayaan was just being himself, and despite Zoe disapproving his behavior, she got carried away with it. No wonder, Asad related to them together as a team. Poor Ijaz. The other undercurrents are hard to notice by a child, yet he understood the malice in Zoe's comment. I was expecting Dilshad to reprimand Zoe. Shireen was her guest, and Zoe is her niece.😳

Then comes the last part. Asad. The man of few words. His anger so clear and palpable. His disappointment complete and absolute. It hurt him to watch Zoe go that low. Badly done indeed. One thing I really like about Asad in this story is that he does not get preachy. He admonishes, teases, patiently explains, and yet he never ever interferes in her decisions. He will share his opinion and tell her what he thinks, (he has yet to share what he feels). Yet he never pulls an "I told you so". He expects her to understand and act on it as an adult. He did all the right things, the best he could. His disappointment is that he knows Zoe, how she is at heart. Personal digs are not her style. He is right. Badly done it was.

Brilliantly written!!! 👏👏👏 It was a pleasure to read my favorite author again. What a lovely world you have created.
