Sorry folks, came back just a couple of days back, came to know my servant will not be coming anymore and hence all caught up with household chores. Now here is the second last part, hope you like it.

Please note: The story is mainly concentrated on asya and their past and hence no relevance for Tanveer's past, hence I gave only minimal reference what was required.

PART 6

Somebody was looking at the watch dial repeatedly and impatiently tapping her feet on the ground and crossing her arms across the chest was waiting eagerly for someone's arrival. Finally the wait was over. "Apne muje yahan kyun bulaya Zoya?" to which Zoya didnt tell anything in particular but extended her hands towards the direction of a car showroom indicating that they are going to visit it now. "But Zoya this is not needed, I never thought that you were serious regarding that matter, I thought that you had just been angry with me and hence..." cut off by Zoya "Andhar chalen" and she went inside with Asad following her saying a array of words "why, what for, this is not needed, I need to tell you something" etc etc which all fell literally on deaf ears. Zoya didnt give a damn to those pleadings. Soon Asad found himself in a room full of brand new SUV models. "Tho batayiye Mr.Khan, apko kounsa model pasand hai" Zoya proudly asked him. Asad shook his head in negative. Zoya again "don't hesitiate, buy the most expensive and latest model with all brand new features, don't worry about the payment, today Zoya Farooqui has enough money in her hand so that I can purchase the most expensive car for you" Asad remembered his own words lashed at her sometime back "zindagi bhar aap kaam karengi tho bhi aisa ek gadi nahi khareed sakti" Zoya indicated with her eyes to go ahead and select the model. The showroom salesman was offering the catalogue to Asad which Asad jerked away with his hands. He took Zoya by her upper arm and forcibly led her to his SUV and made her sit in the passenger seat and without uttering a word drove away to some place.

A Hilltop

Cool breeze was flowing and with it Zoya hairs too. Asad was standing at one end and Zoya was fuming at Asad's behaviour. Zoya started "kyun apki mardangi ko chot pohunchi jab main qabil bangayi, apne kabhi socha nahi hoga ki mai iss tarah se apna vada poora karungi, ab mana kyun kar rahe hai aap, kyun ki main jeet gayi, apke itni kosish karne ki bavajoot issliye?" Asad turned his head and covered the distance between them in ling strides and held Zoya by her upper arm firmly digging his nails into her. They were eye to eye both of them red in anger and piercing glares. Zoya was wincing with pain due to Asad's grip but didnt tell anything and silently tolerated it to show that she is a strong woman. "Apko jab poori baat pata na ho, tho aise nateejo par nahi pohunchthe Miss Farooqui" He left her with a jerk that Zoya almost lost balance and was about to fall but Asad caught her in time and pulled her to safe zone. Zoya was perplexed at Asad's behaviour and just recovered falling over the hilltop that she remained quiet without retorting to what Asad said. Asad continued "yeh sach hai Zoya, ki maine uss din aap par bohot zyadaa hi chillaya aur aap par gande inzaam bhi dale, but that was time's need. I did it for your safety, I wanted you to be safe Zoya, at that time nothing but your well being was in my mind, I did and said that to keep you away from my so called friend Tanveer" Zoya's eyes widened hearing Tanveer. "But why Mr Khan? You knew about her truth?" Asad ran his fingers through his hair and continued " yes,because she wanted to kill you Zoya, and how could I let that happen" Zoya eyes softened "kill me?" Asad "yes, that car's brakes didnt fail on its own but it was planned by Tanveer to finish you off" Zoya was astonished at this revelation. Asad turned his head to the other side "she wanted to marry me and you were an obstacle in her path towards me." Zoya shared with Asad for the first time her convo with Tanveer where she challenged Zoya that she will not let her marry Asad.

Asad "why didnt you tell me Zoya?" Zoya asked with questioning eyes "did you ever trust me over your best friend Tanveer Mr Khan?" Asad replied "Yes, I had but did not show it in front of everyone just to catch Tanveer red handed. I had found out accidentally that her factory was running quite well in the outskirts of Bhopal. From then, my eyes were on her only, I had even engaged a private detective to keep watch on her activities who gave me timely report of her whereabouts, whom she meets, what she does etc." Zoya "private detective?" Asad "yes I had to, if she found out that I am near to her truth, she would have done something unpredictable, so without her knowledge I had to keep an eye on her and this was the best way. Zoya "but when did you find out about her factory?" Asad "I had gone for a site visit on the day you went to hospital with Tanveer.The site was somewhere in the outskirts of Bhopal on Bhopal Indore highway. On enquiring about the nearby inhabitations I was told that there was a garment factory functioning somewhat inside from the main road. I just planned to visit it just to enquire about the surroundings and in hope of getting an idea of the location and the water and electricity supply there. But when I reached the factory I found out that Tanveer was inside giving instructions to some persons who perhaps were the staff working there. I didnt confront her at that time because I wanted to know, what she was upto, why did she lie to all of us and then when I returned I found all the drama about the hospital visit and how quickly Tanveer turned tables that you went to the wrong doctor. I found something definintely fishy and hence did say that I had seen Tanveer at the factory and she was caught by me." Zoya eyes had little tears to know the fact that Asad had been cheated by his childhood friend and she saw that pain in his eyes when he was detailing all these. She held Asad's hands firmly and squeezed to assure that she knew his pain. Asad was happy to see Zoya giving him support. He almost broke down in front of her. "From that day I had kept a watch on her without her knowledge. How manipulative and vengeful she had become, she was my childhood friend, my one and only friend, I cant still believe that she has such malicious intentions towards me, she is no more my innocent friend, she had lost all her innocence, the Tanveer which entered my house after years was a total stranger, completely a new person, not the Tanveer I knew. What wrong did I do, to get cheated like this? She was planning to trap me to get a father for her illegitimate child, I always considered her to be epitome of disciplined life, good that my belief was shattered, now at least I understood that we cannot judge a book my cover, the same way we cannot judge anybody by their outward appearances." Zoya gave Asad her shoulder to cry, she could feel her dress being wet with his tears. She pulled him apart and wiped her tears with her hanky. She called him softly "Asad' for the first time otherwise it was Mr Khan only maintaining a distance between them. Asad shot up to look at her when he heard his name from her mouth. "Say it again Zoya, I want to hear it" Zoya asked "what?" Asad "my name" Zoya smiled a little and said again "Asad" Asad "again" Zoya repeated as much times Asad wanted to hear it.

Zoya asked "then if you had known about her, why did you make me apologise to her in front of everybody?" Asad "I already said it was the need of the time to make Tanveer feel that her plans are getting into action and let her enjoy some happy moments, thinking that she had succeeded in her plans. You know Zoya that night I couldn't sleep enough after making you to do that act, I knew you said Sorry just because I told you to do so, you did it for me, I was waiting for the right moment Zoya to expose her, i wanted to know her intentions and how low she cant stoop. When you showed me her fake skin, I hoped that she was exposed but when I saw fire burns on her hand, it just ran me out of my senses, that girl was unpredictable, she can go to any level, this time she burned herself for real in order to escape, since than I was afraid for you, ammi and Najma and couldn't risk your lives" Zoya "then you scolded me when I went out that night, I actually went behind Tanveer because I saw her going somewhere" Asad "Tanveer came to me telling that she saw you going out alone in the night without informing anyone, I guessed that she was upto something and thats why I masked it by scolding you a little more, I saw happiness on her face, I was confused to as to why she was happy when I scolded you. Then when you found out her bank statements, I let her win by making her feel that she had convinced me with her lies as that was leading to vengeful trait against you in her and I did not,in no case want that. I was oblivious to the convo between you and Tanveer, I never knew about that you got to know her intentions pretty early than me but you could have told me Zoya once"

Zoya "how Asad just tell me, you despised me in front of her and each time you stood beside her instead of me, you showed full trust and blind belief on her , then how am I to tell you all these? I was clueless as to you too doubted Tanveer, that accident happened the next day after that convo but how did you come to know about that?" Asad "through the private detective, but when he had informed me about the Tanveer's henoius act, you had already taken the car with ammi inside it. Thank God that you both were safe, but I was very much worried when I got to know that you had taken the car. I was trying to contact you or ammi but you both were not reachable. I just came home to see if there is any news of you and ammi, and then you both came home safe and sound. You don't know Zoya what a sigh of relief I had at that time seeing both of you alive and safe in front of my eyes. I saw Tanveer's eyes narrow on you both being safe, I guessed she will not sit quiet and devise something or the other to harm you Zoya and thats why I outbroke to distract her, to drive you away from her, so that you will not be in her vicinity otherwise she might harm you. And thats the reason I said those harsh words to you so that you will go away from me for sometime and I can get to Tanveer's truth without her hurting you" Asad stopped without getting proper words to continue. Zoya embraced Asad softly.

Zoya" you know what I still believed even a few minutes earlier that you had cheated me when I had asked you the answer for the question from KBC show" Asad "but I told you the right answer only, only thing it was coded" Zoya "but why Asad? Why didnt you tell me the answer directly?" Asad " The answer was Taj Mahal and it was symbol of Love and I confessed my love for you because you never gave me a chance to explain why all this happened and that day when you called me from that show, i felt I wont get another chance to tell you about my feelings for you and thats why I took a chance and confessed my love for you" Zoya " and I was such an idiot not to understand it" Zoya "Tell me when did you realise that you loved me and not that Tanveer?" Asad "Tanveer, for God's sake don't take her name again, she is gone from our lives for ever and I never loved her, I loved only you and not from the day we got engaged, not from the day our marriage was arranged by our families, but much more than that" Zoya totally surprised at this revelation. She wanted to know more "From when Asad, tell me more about this, that you loved me from the time I didnt know you at all, yah Allah, is this true what I m hearing?"

Asad smiled "the answer to your question is yes, my love was silent, you used to come with your baba, ammi and appi to the Badi Masjid and the dargah whole during Ramzaan month and thats where when I saw you first as a chubby girl, my heart instantly liked you, it wanted to see you again and again, just that my heart was happy seeing you. I was very small then and you too were of the same age. I watched you from behind the pillars, curtains distantly because I didnt know you. Then I used to attend all the celebrations and functions hoping to see you as your father was a popular figure in the city of Bhopal being the magistrate. Then one day I heard that your baba and ammi met with an accident and died leaving you and appi all alone in this world. I came to see you that day, on your parents funeral but didnt see you as I was hesitant being totally a stranger. Then I heard that you had shifted to another city for higher education and my chances of seeing you became remote. Gradually you started to occupy my thoughts and to drive you away from me, I started to indulge more in studies. It was then Tanveer came into my life as a friend. She had only ammi who used to help my mother in stitching clothes and complete orders. Her ammi was an embroidery designer which she too learnt in the due course of time. Then one day her ammi told me that they had got a pending insurance amount of Tanveer's father which was put on hold by the insurance company due to doubts regarding Tanveer's father's death. She alongwith Tanveer shifted to Lucknow, where it was heard that her ammi re married someone else and Tanveer soon started a garment factory there which had branches in some select cities only. Tanveer changed totally, she had affairs with many businessmen, she spent nights with them on beds, she was not less than a high class prostitute, all these I came to know recently when I had did some homework on Tanveer and her past.

Then you came back to the town again. I was so happy to see you again but I still was the same hesitant Asad and thats when our families took a decision of our marriage. Actually I was happy from inside but didnt show it particularly but then only realilsation dawned upon me that we had debts to be cleared that abbu had left. Due to his sudden death by heart attack, we were left only with our house to stay, our factory and other properties were seized by banks towards the closure of loans and other debts taken for the purpose of the business by abbu. I was the pillar of the family and I could let myself swayed away by emotions and get involved in a relation called marriage although my ammi wanted me to settle down, till I made my family secure and hence was not ready for marriage. Thank God, you too denied marriage at that time by making excuse of higher studies. But the blow came to me when you decided to go to New York to pursue your higher education. You went very far from me, my eyes longed to see you Zoya, to hear your voice, to see your smile and to watch your eyes twinkle. But never ever I said those feelings to anyone but harboured them in my mind. But when you returned from New York you were totally changed, you had become more talkative, compared to your shy nature in your childhood, your dressing sense changed, your thoughts changed, your ideologies changed, you were totally a different Zoya from the image that I had in my mind. Due to my confused and troubled mind I started to feel some sort of complex that I may not be the one you may expect since you returned from abroad and you may have expectations when it comes to your life partner. And thats why I maintained distance with you, tried not to come near to you. But when you said yes for our engagement, I was really happy Zoya, finally I thought I would voice out my feelings to you one day and trust me Zoya I would have confessed my love on our first ever romantic date, remember, but that was spoilt by Tanveer. I was initially very much hesitant but then Ammi gave me some courage by saying that I should take it as the first step towards our life together, may be we may get to know each other my spending sometime together. But my poor ammi didnt know that she was actually helping me out to reveal my emotions"

Zoya was blinking hearing Asad's version of their love story standing there rooted to the spot. Asad waved in front of her face to bring her back from delirium. Asad asked "Zoya can I ask you something?" Zoya said only "hmm" Asad "did you ever love me Zoya? Zoya broke the eye contact with him and turned to the other side facing her back to him. Asad could see her taking deep breaths due to the movements in her shoulders. He came near her and kept his hand on her shoulder which made her gasp instantly. He made her turn around and asked Answer me Zoya, did you ever love me or you just agreed to this alliance due to your appi's insistence?" Zoya was still looking down. Asad lifted her face by holding her chin with his index finger and thumb "I need an answer to take a decision Zoya" Zoya was still silent not having any eye contact with Asad . "Look at me Zoya and answer, was my question so difficult that you are not able to answer it, it was simple right?" Zoya after gaining some courage spoke softly "your question was simple but the answer is very complex" Asad "whatever I want to hear it, tell me about your feelings for me, be it love, hate, sympathy anything, but I want to hear it, I want to know what equation do we share at this moment, its very necessary to take the most important decision in our lives, the decision of marriage, so tell me Zoya, whats it, I m ready to face it."

Zoya started "I didnt know you as you knew me because I never noticed you before our alliance, as a child I had some aspirations, I wanted to become a computer engineer, I wanted to puruse my dream at any cost, I didnt have the concept of love even when I became a teenager because my mindset was not like that. I never wanted to dress up, wear jewellery and never tried to become beautiful to impress boys so that they don't take their eyes off me, and thats why I wore simple clothes and looked plain in my early days. But things changed when I went to New York to pursue my dream. I started to believe in love because in that city the concept of love marriage was common. I too started to believe that someone is made for me who will come into my life when its the right time. My room mate Humeria, she too was an Indian, she was in love with a guy called Haider. She used to bring new clothes saying that Haider gave it as a gift for some occasion and she needs to wear it as Haider likes this colour and he admires her wearing this colour, seeing her I too started expecting that the person who will enter my life too will pamper me like this, will make me feel happy, will make me his princess, etc etc etc and thats how I started to change, I became interested in making me presentable before boys, I started to feel that I m too beautiful and somebody will propose me too, and as I had thought many boys did called me for date, proposed me but I never felt anything for them so I plainly rejected their offers humbly. Before going to New York, my appi pestered me for an alliance but she never told me that it was you because I straight away rejected it. My appi was married by then to Anwar jiju as she was pretty older than me. There was a considerable age difference between us almost 10 years you can say, since she was settled, she wanted me to settle in my life, but my dreams were still not fulfilled and thats time my application for NYC university got selected due to my merits and I got a chance to fulfil my dreams."

Asad "then why did you not take up any job after returning to India, if you were so passionate about your dreams? "why did you say yes to our engagement? Was it forced upon you Zoya?" Zoya "Even though it was forced I accepted it with my full and free consent only" Asad "what? I didnt get you Zoya, what are you exactly trying to say, you were forced into this but you accepted it, so that means you don't harbour any emotions for me right, you accepted this for your appi's happiness?" Zoya "Asad don't jump into conclusions please, let me say me part fully and then you can decide" Asad "still you have something to say, the answer is either yes or no Zoya, whats that you are beating around the bushes?" Zoya "Asad please, I need your help in realising my emotions as I am not able to understand what it is that I have for you, wont you help me?" Asad was at a loss of words when he heard this from Zoya's mouth "You are not sure of your feelings Zoya" Zoya "hmm" Asad "come on Zoya how can one be unsure of what they feel for another" Zoya "but I am Asad, right now I am, the day when the talks of our engagement came into open, I denied outrightedly that I didn't want to get into marriage and relationships, I wanted to make a career for myself. My appi gave me an ultimatum that I had to agree to this alliance as the family is very good. I just said a No and walked out. My appi was very angry with me that she didnt talk to me for one long week. Then under her pressure I said a yes to this alliance. But fate had other games to be played."

Sorry I know I m updating after a long time but now the real story needs to move both of them has to realise their affection for each other. I thought to make this the last part but when I started writing I realised that it has to end in one more part.
