Forty Three
The next few weeks passed relatively quietly, everyone was still coming to terms with what had happened as well as trying to get back into work mode.
Zoya had started to go back to the studio to work towards her next project; a lot of the days were filled with practicing dance moves to some new songs. They had been given their schedule for the next few months, Zoya and her team were going to be working on a big budget movie 'Zoya next month we are going to have to accompany the team to three different locations, one of them is overseas, it hasn't been confirmed but it probably will be South Africa' Zoya looked at RJ with wide eyes 'Ya Allah...you serious we get to go overseas with them' 'yes we do...and you my girl are going to be joining in' Zoya jumped up in excitement 'thank you so much RJ this is fantastic, when do you think we will go?' 'Not until the end of March so we still have around 8 weeks left'.
Zoya couldn't wait to get home and tell everyone her good news. As she spoke she was met with a mixed response Dilshad and Najma were as excited as she was whereas Asad and Rashid didn't seem so happy. Picking up on Asad's mood Zoya confronted him 'Asad...are you not happy' Asad looked at her and smiled 'I am...I just don't like the idea of you going away for so long that's all...I mean travelling internally is a lot different to going abroad, and that for so long too'.
Dilshad stood up 'Asad, I know you're worried about her being away from you...but beta your work requires you to be away too...and you should be happy Zoya is finally going to be doing something that she has always dreamed of' 'Ammi I am happy...very happy it's just...sorry Zoya, I didn't mean to dampen your news...I just'. Zoya went and stood in between him and Dilshad 'its ok Asad, I understand, I am not going for another 8 weeks and I promise I will be back before you know it'.
Time moved on swiftly as everyone occupied themselves with their daily routines; it wasn't long before Valentine's Day was here, seeing that the group hadn't been able to take out much time they all decided to spend the evening together. Priya had put on a little weight and had started to glow, she hugged Zoya and Humera with tears in her eyes, she had really missed them 'being pregnant really suits you' Zoya whispered making Priya blush.
As they ordered their food the six of them engrossed in conversation, which by the end of they had managed to come up to date with everything that was going on in each other's lives.
Asad, Ayaan and Zoya walked in to see everyone gathered in the living room. As they got closer they all stood rooted to see a police officer and Tanveer sitting next to Dilshad crying.
Where Zoya and Ayaan stood still Asad stepped closer 'Ammi, Abu what is going on?' as soon as Tanveer heard his voice she looked up and ran towards him wrapping her arms around him. Asad tried pulling her back but it was no use. Zoya looked at Ayaan who returned her look with a lot more anger 'Ammi what is going on?' Ayaan repeated the question in a harsher tone.
The police inspector stepped forward 'Mr Khan, your friend here...we found her in a bad state. Someone had tried to attack her, she had nowhere to go and said there was no one she could trust, and at the hospital she kept mentioning your name, so we brought her here'.
Tanveer pulled back a little 'please Leo, help me...I know you are all angry with me and I know I have done wrong but please...don't leave me...help me' Tanveer buried her head in his chest holding on to him tighter.
Dilshad saw how Zoya's face had dropped, she walked up to Tanveer and pulled her away from Asad 'Asad, I said to the inspector that she could stay here for a few days until she was better' Asad looked at her wide eyed, at the same time Zoya fisted her hands not believing what she was hearing, without saying anything she walked past them and ran up to her room, Ayaan soon followed but before he went he looked at Dilshad 'Ammi, you have no idea what you have just agreed to'.
Asad looked at Tanveer who was still crying 'Ammi, I am sorry she can't stay here' Tanveer looked up at him then towards Dilshad 'please I have nowhere else to go...Leo we used to be good friends...please just until I can sort myself out, I promise not to get in your way'. 'Asad, she is right, beta look at her she needs help...we can't just turn her away...whatever has happened in the past let it be Asad'. Not responding Asad left Tanveer standing next to Dilshad and walked to his room.
Dilshad put her hand over Tanveer's head 'it's ok Tanveer, they will come round eventually...inspector thank you for bringing her here, we will look after he until she can go home'
Dilshad asked Ramu to set up the room next to his for Tanveer; she left Tanveer to follow Ramu and then went to talk to Rashid.
Tanveer smiled at Ramu and thanked him politely, once he left she turned around and wiped her tears 'you may have one a few battles Zoya Farooqui but the war is yet to commence...you came and took away everything from me...and now it's payback time, I will get what is rightfully mine...Leo is mine and only mine...you just wait and watch how I take him away and you won't be able to do a thing'.
