Some Trivia about TRPS
1.Lowest TRPS were week 14 and 15 of 2013. It was2.3
2. The debut TRP of QH was 2.4 week 48 of 2013.
3. The highest TRP was Week 33: 7435. That is roughly 3.609(I am assuming that there were total 206 million households with cable at that time, so based on my assumption).
4. It just went down .1 from it's debut TRP in about 1.25 years. It has always been stable
Television Rating Point (TRP) is a tool provided to judge which programmes are viewed the most. This gives us an index of the choice of the people and also the popularity of a particular channel. For calculation purpose, a device is attached to the TV set in a few thousand viewers' houses for judging purpose. These numbers are treated as sample from the overall TV owners in different geographical and demographic sectors. The device is called as People's Meter. It records the time and the programme that a viewer watches on a particular day.
As TAM's annual universe update takes effect, the universe size of Hindi-speaking markets has increased to 212 million from 206 million from Week 1, 2014. The Digital-Analog split of the universe is now at 69:31 against 66:34 in 2013.
