I think it was a mix of many things. They wanted to go with the haseena track, but if would be futile to promote it because people didn't know about the actors.

Creatives were sleeping but wen ksg finally left they r awake as yhey know if now they won't then serial will sleep so now making story interesting with twist as they know raqesh will need tine to understand asad but in this one disadv of them is now they r using all the twist phir baad mrin kya bachega unke paas

CVs were literally sleeping no doubt and they were doing pathetic writing.and here if show is doing well its all about good writing and direction.no actor be it raquesh,SJ or karan can make a show on his own without story atleast in long term.
