Author's Note: This OS follows the track where Asad announces his marriage to Tanveer after being lead to believe that she is carrying his child.

XXX

His words rang in her head; clearly her words of truth fell on his deaf ears. Once again he had chosen to ignore her in favour of one who would lead to his destruction. She tried to save him, but clearly he didn't want to be saved. He claimed to love her but his actions were all she needed to assume that his love was not as deep or strong as hers. He humiliated and distrusted her at every step yet he had the audacity to cry when she tried to distance herself from this cycle of emotional abuse. But one's tolerance level has a limit and she had reached her limit a while back but she was to blinded by her love for him to care, so she was shattered when her lover's actions clearly indicated that he did not love on the same level on intensity as she. She was done crying and being weak, if he didn't care about her or her feelings then why should she care about him. If his love was as strong as he claimed, then surely he would never have taken the decision to ignore her and announce his marriage to Tanveer. Zoya Faarouqui took one last look at her phupi, her BFF Najma and the home that she thought would one day be hers and left without any warning. She had left just as silently as she had arrived only taking along that which she had brought with her she returned all the gifts given to her during her stay and left the engagement ring that adorned her finger for many months on her Phuphi's bedside table. It was hard for her who craved a family to leave the family that so readily accepted her but she had to do it, not only for her pride but for her emotional well being. So praying for the family she found at Khan Villa, Zoya Faarouqui left her home in Bhopal and journeyed home. But Fate had other plans for her...

Asad Ahmed Khan had taken her departure the hardest. He was sullen, withdrawn and more emotionally unstable than ever. He had foolishly thought that she would still be there after everything that he put her through but alas... It was not so. His mother and Sister refused to acknowledge him and his new fiance Tanveer, his mother making it clear at each turn that the only daughter in law she would recognise is Zoya. So without his mother's approval or blessings he couldn't find it in himself to enter into holy matrimony with the woman he had chosen over his beloved. So in essence his dismissal of Zoya was moot.

Tanveer had planned, plotted and schemed but was met with setback at every turn. Had she know that she would be planning against the Greatest of Planners, The Almighty, she would have never wasted her time with such evil because when the Almighty decides that two souls will unite, no power in the heavens or on earth will change HIS Decision.
Dilshad Ahmed Khan had prayed alongside her daughter Najma. They prayed for their happiness and life to return to their home. They prayed for safety, security, health, wealth forgiveness and the unification of their scattered family. But most of all they prayed for Zoya to re enter their lives a prayer that will soon be answered.

The law of Karma states: "what goes around comes around" and so it happened one day, months after Zoya had gone, Tanveer could not hide her lies and deceit any longer. She had been hospitalised for a complication in her pregnancy and it was discovered that the child growing inside her was at risk of a rare blood disorder and Asad, being the decent, nave human being that he was, had checked his DNA against the child's to see if his blood could save the baby in anyway. Imagine his surprise when none of his genetic markers were a match for the child. The same child that he sacrificed his love for was not even his! He had trusted the wrong person and lead to his own destruction.

The Lord works in mysterious ways, the innocent was punished along with the guilty with neither mother nor child surviving. Taking this as a sign from the Almighty, Asad had decided to find his love and bring her home but how do you find someone who you had abandoned?

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

He had journeyed across the globe in the name of love, hoping and praying that he would not be severely punished for his mistakes. He was in her city, her home and because of its association with her, this bustling metropolis was not alien to him, rather it felt that he belonged, simply because it was associated with her. He had called her Aapi and Jeeju informing them of his arrival and his intentions towards their precious child he could only plead with them to keep it secret from his love, Zoya. After much convincing they had agreed to keep his secret and made him swear to never hurt their angel again.

It was all planned; an elaborate apology for his elaborate mistake. He was going all in, a gamble he was taking in the name of love. His chances of failure equalise with his chances of success and this scares him, the uncertainty of it all. He was relieved to find that his name and power extended beyond the confines of India and so using this to his advantage he decides to do his best and leave the rest to the Almighty. If HE had decreed that his love will be his, then it will only be a matter of time before his love is returned but if HE had decreed that his love will be unrequited... then so be it.

Zoya had walked down 7th Avenue, and once she reached the corner of W 46th Street and 7th Avenue, she entered one of the unique parts of her home city: Times Square. Little did she know that if this very place and in front of thousands of New Yorkers will her life change forever. All the flashing adverts displayed on the many screens in the Square went blank for a second only to later be filled with Images of her. Pictures taken at the photo shoot for her engagement/ pending nuptials had caught the attention of the New Yorkers below with the largest screen in the square showing, in real time, a very bewildered but still beautiful Zoya Faarouqui. A few of the smaller screens had begun to display the messages I Love You Zoya' and Will you marry me?' She was taken aback by such an amazing gesture and while looking away from the monitors with tears in her eyes she spotted her love, her Jahapana, her Asad... bent down on one knee in front of her, looking dashing in a suit and tie with the ring that she had returned on full display. The bustling square fell silent waiting for her response and when she nodded through teary eyes, Asad had known of her acceptance then leaping forth he took her in an embrace and kissed her passionately. The square, who had witnessed the reunion of the lovers, had burst into applause and cheers with absolute strangers shouting congratulations and blessing their union. Happiness had engulfed him, pulling away from the kiss and resting his head on her shoulder through his tears he whispered huskily into her ear

Asad: "Miss Zoya Faarouqui, Do you accept the marriage proposal of Asad Ahmed Khan?"

She moved herself to face him and at once became lost in his smoldering eyes. She smiled at the intensity of his emotions and at the fact that maybe he was not as emotionally challenged as she once thought. She moved in and whispered "Qubool Hai" before bringing his lips to hers again...
