There are romantic pairs on television and then there's Asad & Zoya in Qubool Hai. The pair has become the epitome of modern day romance in no time. If eye witnesses are to be believed, Karan Singh Grover (Asad) & Surbhi Jyoti (Zoya) have taken their sizzling onscreen chemistry to another level at the Zee Rishtey Awards 2013 and have weaved a special place in the hearts of the audiences with their breath-taking never-before-seen act.
Viewers will witness a moving shikara mid-air for the first time on TV with KSG and Surbh doing a romantic number on the song Ang laga de re' from the movie Ram Leela on it. Surbhi was initially slightly apprehensive about the act as the shikara suspended on a crane had to float around mid air while the performance was on. But she finally did the act unflinchingly. The spectators had a breathtaking view of a brightly-lit shikara floating mid-air and their favorite pair romancSays Surbhi, "I went wowww the moment I heard the concept. I'm thankful to Zee for choosing me and Karan for this mind boggling act. I had never ever imagined in my wildest dreams that I would get to romance mid-air with lakhs of viewers watching me high above in the air. From the rushes that I have seen, I can totally vouch that this act is one of the key highlights of the event. Viewers shouldn't miss watching it on 1 December at 8pm. I had very less time to rehearse but I'm super happy with the results."
Said choreographer Geeta Kapoor, "The Zee team wanted to project Asad & Zoya (Karan & Surbhi) as a couple on the throes of love. I had to add something extra...something more than just dance to bring out their romance in front of LIVE audiences. So we came up with this thought of an aerial shikara act. A shikara is symbolic of love and romance. We bounced off our idea to Omang (Kumar, the art director) and he gave us a magnificently designed 2000 kilo shikara where we got Asad & Zoya to romance each other mid air."ing each other on it.
